I have a 1968 GMC that was my first truck legally on the road. It’s been waiting 30 years for a rebuild. Cab is stripped and blasted now. I built a 6 liter for it. I should be documenting it on video. I have 3 others that would be good candidates for a job like this. I have a bunch of tahoes and suburbans I got from the body shop. He was going to send them to the crusher. I got 12 of them for $200 each.
After having your truck, with the suspension upgrades, what would be the different between this type of buid and a GSI or Porterbuilt or would there be much of a difference , other than yours being an AWD? Personally I'd rather go with your build

Yes on this truck we used a 4l80 and different transfer-case to make the 4wd work the awd out of the 03 should work without the bcm I believe the 07 up trucks you need the bcm and abs
@Rustomod right after you needed it huh? Lol ive been debating on gettin a setup for the ly6 6.0/6l90 thats currently in my 86 c10, hopefully soon itll be goin into a squarebody dually on a 99-20 chassis, pretty sure im fixin to set my 86 on a 99 rcsb chassis ive got sittin here

Just found out they didnt start awd escalade and denals till 3.42 gear i have GU4 3.08. PLZ HELP. CAN THE GU4 AND TRANSFER CASE BE CHANGED TO AWD. PLZ HELP
You can buy a longbed, cheaper than a short shortbed, then trim front or rear of bed as needed to move wheel well around so it lines up with your donor chassis better. Most guys can handle a straight line cut and weld back together, but moving the wheel well that's curved in two different axis is intimidating. Ive used the cut out section of bed to make custom integrated bedside boxes. There's a lot of cool details you can add to your project like that for $7 in zip disc's and $3 in mig wire.

Man I love the paint, the scratched up bumper, the rims, the stance, the awd. Sweeett.
I think painting the underside of the hood with blue would give more light to the engine when it's shown with hood open.

I put a universal one on from a Silverado but wasn’t crazy about the look so I added the roll pan but can add it back just have to pull the pan off

This is definitely cheaper and you get the awd too that’s the main advantage
I also have a awd rear steer Chevy I bought at an auction for the drivetrain. I want to build something out of that also

I got my 66 C60 and not sure what frame to go with. I do have a 96 3500 6.5 Dually long bed.or should I go more modern then that.

I’ve bought a few like that maybe wracked or rusted but all you need is a good frame

700 to all four wheels..2800 horses to get 700 to all four..or 700 divided by 4 to 175 at each wheel
700hp going out to all four wheels through the awd system. That’s a very common way that people describe a cars power delivery. No math needed.
