Thank you for helping my boyfriend and his friend out when they were stranded. He has not stopped talking about how amazing you are since he got back😂
Which vehicle? 🤷♂️
@@RustyZipper Most likely the one at the beginning where he helped 2 fans at an AutoZone or whatever
I couldn't leave those guys stranded there! Glad they made it home safe 🤘
@@RustyZipperit was my buddy it was that red cat eye Chevy that you saw
@@JunkyardDigs thank you guys so much for helping my buddy out when he called me about it I was fan boying like crazy
It's great to see Mook again.
“Is it fixed?” “No, but it’s different!” That made me laugh 😂
I just finished having rear end problems on my hotrod. My father picked up what were supposed to be a 4.11 open diff rear at a swap meet for our 9”. Threw them in and immediately upon rolling the car out it was clunking and clearly not set up right. Pulled them back out, checked and set them up properly and then back in. During the test drive it began chattering and only worsened as we drove so back out again. Preparing to throw the original 2.73s we had back in when my father called me over as he had figured something out. He had both axels in those supposed 4.11s making the realization that this was not an open diff but a limited slip. We did not use gear oil with the limited slip additive so there’s your chatter. Going further we learned that it was also a 3.50 rear end. Father scored a limited slip 3.50 rear and for $80. Works perfectly fine now with the proper additive lol.
I must add that the customer service for Progression ignition is superb, I have a '69 Camaro with a 396 and the Progression distributor is the only piece of tech on it. I had an issue with the engine dying after I installed it, I called support and they just sent me a new one immediately. The new one has been running flawlessly for the past few years. You can squeeze a lot more timing out of it than a mechanical setup and it can adjust on the fly for different throttle positions and RPMs in addition to vacuum advance. They also make a small cap non-HEI version that looks almost stock on my 396.
Great video as usual. You guys are awesome and i always love watching your stuff. Nice to see Angus still driving the wheels off that F100.
Junkyard Digs is always worth the wait and the format is long which makes it more enjoyable. The very first video I saw of yours that got me into watching you was the one of you, Thunderhead289 and Dylan McCool all working together to get that old blue Ford pickup running that was hiding in the weeds on an abandoned farm. Which I think you eventually made into a two or three part series because it was hard for you guys to get a time do it where you were all together. Also Angus and Mook are total goofballs. :)
Thats the first one I remember watching too. I think I saw it like a year after it came out. Crazy to see how far Kevin's gone while still keeping with his style. I've seen a lot of channels go from "here's an hour long video of us working on a car" to "here's a 15 minute video of this crazy expensive engine, 5 mins of the video is of me putting it in the car and the next 10 is of me fucking around and blowing it up"
Like, don't get me wrong, those videos have their place, but man some of these channels just feel like a shell of their former selves when they get that big. And here we have Kevin, over a million subs later and he's still releasing hour+ long videos of him working on cars with his friends. I fucking love it
@@dakotareynolds3049 I think Kevin has stuck with the hour long segments because he see's we like that format the most. Especially since he doesn't post videos very frequently the quality can remain high. I would rather have one very long and high quality video once every two or three weeks over a bunch of smaller lesser videos weekly. The videos falling on a Friday or Saturday make them better.
What I also like is how the content has evolved from Kevin just finding a random rust-mobile sitting in the weeds for 30 years and getting it running. To sticking with that and adding a segment in explaining what he's doing, what the problem is, what caused the problem and what the fix might be all while getting the vehicle going.
Then add on him getting a random three wheeler or snowmobile running later on along with the abandoned farm equipment. All while keeping his original documentary style explanations of what the plan is for the machine of that episode.
I know enough about vehicles to fix minor problems and do routine maintenance but I am no mechanic and don't claim to be. I have vintage dirt bike projects I have yet to get around to working on. I don't have a shed or garage to work in so I tend to procrastinate when it comes to working on vehicles outside. I will get to them eventually. :)
@@Slane583 Yeah I'm glad he's doing what he's doing and in the way that he's doing it
@@dakotareynolds3049 Indeed. :)
Okay, that progression ignition is badass. definitely looking into getting one for my dads FFR coupe. I absolutely love these long videos
Just buy an new coil to bring with you in the glove box. Pole barn garage also had one coil melt on his progression ignition.
My buddy told me about your channel a few months ago and you've single handedly fueled my want to wrench 10x more than ever. This stuff is awesome and one day I'll join ya.
Tom is a national treasure. He never fails to make me roll on the floor laughing!!!
I have been at the edge of my seat, checking your channel every day waiting for the new upload. I found your channel by accident, but it has helped me get into cars, and find a new thing that i really enjoy.
that electronic distributor is just awesome. it mixes old tech with new stuff so swiftly! amazing
Angus noodling about in the background is the best part of this vid 😂
YAY! Mook's back! We've all been missing you!
Another awesome powertour guys, well done, love watching these!
Truly enjoyed the power tour with y'all. It was like being there. Enjoyed every moment. Love you're channel ❤
Awesome video Kevin! You always make the best content. Hey I do have a suggestion for you, could you work on some classic British cars for your channel like a Triumph TR6, Austin Healey 3000, MGA, MG TC or a TD, Triumph TR3, Jaguar Mark 2, or just like anything European from the 70s or older? If you don’t know me I love classic European sports cars. I do also love those old Cadillacs you worked on in the past and the “luxury boats” lol.
My dad had a 1979 Chevrolet Cheyenne. He bought it new and it was orange with tan interior. I have a lot of memories in that truck as a kid.
Loved meeting everyone at the Nashville Superspeedway. I had a blast on my first time time attending a power tour event. You guys are awesome people to hang out with. I'm also glad I didn't actually drive on power tour because I just found out I've been driving around on a blown head gasket.
It's like being there with you guys every single year! Thank you so much for the time you put into filming and editing these for us
Not trying to make anyone feel old but I've been watching your videos since i was 8 years old and you've kinda become my childhood show. I'm 16 now
Good to see y'all having fun. Good to see Mook.
So, much like they say in the sailboat cruising world, Power Tour seems to be working on your car in exotic and random locations 😂
Are you ever going to do a full restoration of a vehicle. Obviously not expecting showroom standard 😂
I loved when nook asked if you needed something and you said you need a fart and let it rip. And angus peaks around the hood and asked if your okay. Lmao I bet it was even funnier in person
It looks like you guys (and Mook!) all had a GREAT time.. Glad to see that c one oh make it.. what a great truck!
Great ending guys! Awesome event coverage. Thanks.👍😃
great meeting you and some of the gang at Hebron. wearing my Have a Beer About It shirt right now.
That fucking distributor is amazing. I don't understand how it, alone, can change the idle speed, but that's really cool. Edit: I'm only 1/2 through the video, and so far it's one of the channel's best ever.
Never thought I’d see a GC Subaru on this channel, so cool
The "Pizzaz" pizza oven is one of the best inventions ever made!
In the scene showing the diff sounds like a little drinky drinky courage made things break lol.
Haha the use of Mr Bean and his map was quality.
The Chronicles of "C-One-Oh" continues!
I would vote for you to be the smartest mechanic on RUclips. And thanks for the t-shirts.
That progression ignition is so cool
Huge props helping the fan get back on the road 💪🏽. it's good 2 see mook for longer then a Cameo in a video🙂. Welcome 2 comfort shits then Proceeds to fart then 1 sox 🤔😅.shout out Mister bean. gps is a game changer when traveling unlike the old days of maps. The power tour always seems like a great time I'll probably never get 2 Participate so it's very enjoyable watching and seeing other utubers. Thanks as always for sharing kev👍🏼.
With that ignition lock, you could lock the ignition and crank it a few times to prime the system, then unlock it and bam! Granted it's not a terribly useful thought, but it's an idea none-the-less.
You said 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee I have a 96 and I swear that old 4.0 l6 is unbreakable I did a full rebuild a 300k miles and its at 360k miles and it still goes. Edit love this channel and I've been watching yall for years keep up the good work.
Really good to see mook 😊 where has she been hiding?
Loved the truck looks like you guys had alot of fun
And great to see how you all look out for each other and keep these old cars on the road !!!
Maaan, I watch ya'll enjoy Power Tour every year while it feels that you all go every month. Keep up the wrenchin', greetings from the Netherlands! One day I'll participate, one day...
Love you guys! Looking to take the project Cadillac out next year. Hope to meet you there!
That distributor is cool as heck, never seen something like that before
Been watching before you went into the army, i watched you and luke with the hot air ballon truck. Dident know what i was getting into but i knew i wanted to learn and you have taught me how to become the "old man" mechanic with the tips and techniques. One day i want to just say hi and shake your hand. You sir, are a good man.
The Progression Ignition system is really cool, going to have to try it
All those Hawaiian shirts I thought Kevin was Dalton more times than I should have 😂🤣
😮wow i did not know that sharpie trick with spray on sunscreen
Good morning from Cape Cod ⛵ I've never seen a hot dog sticking out of a diff cover before 😂 I really like that distributor, very convenient to tune it on the fly. It is great to see Angus on the team, I love you sense of humor dude 👍 anyway it looks like you guys had a great time with very little problems, I mean other than the Monte Carlo needing to be rebuilt 😉 I approve of your method of avoiding traffic, very nice 👍 thanks for bringing us all along this was a great time ✌️🇺🇲
I'm not even American but your content is really fun to watch
fun video to watch Kevin thanks for sharing. one note its seems like everyones ride is ill prepared just enough to have to fix them daily. your truck was not which considering how it was to start with is remarkable!!! thanks buddy. master mechanic Mook on board as backup
18:53 great look on Angus.
Some fekn clever chaps at Progression Ignition! 👏
I always knew Mook had good taste but liking the 97 Grand Cherokee only cements that. I'm only slightly biased since one was my first car XD
Yall were at Nashville SuperSpeedway?!? Omg, THATS AWESOME!!! I’m literally in the next town away from Lebanon Tennessee 🤘🏻
I didnt realize i was in your video. It was great meeting you!
18:52 I knew hiring Angus would pay off.
I didn't notice that until you brought it to my attention.
43:43 - You forgot the JYD sticker of immortality again, didn't you? 😛
Good job on the truck
Thank you for bringing us along good times
Glad you know what a Michigan left is. I hope to see you two if you ever get to the Mitten.
Bummer that I didn't get to meet you. I didn't even hear that you were doing the Power Tour until Jay from Irish Outlaw Garage told me. Maybe next year.
Having lived in Minnesota my entire l am convinced you found probably the cleanest square bodies in all of Minnesota and im a little salty about it. Haha.
In all seriousness, what a sweet truck man. Thats so cool.
Got a yukon set in my titan. Loud, but great!!
I'm thinking one of those Progression Ignition distributors *amazing* along with one of Luke's Carb Cheaters and man.. you'd have a KILLER old truck or car that's 21st century through and through. Awesome!!
Build the tater wagon. Homemade long arm. Keep on posting bro!
I died laughing when the press came to a stop. “I hope all the dust was out”
Differential really said "hold up i need to smoke a cigar"
That distributor is awesome.
Awesome trip! Thanks for sharing your adventure with all of us!
Omg , that big red dodge truck is an absolute UNIT of a truck, jeeezzuz !
I like how the blue 460 kept thing going.
I use a progression distributor on my Pontiac Lemans with a fresh 400. I also added a Carb Cheater. Once I got it dialed, the car runs perfect.
Another awesome video! Keep up the great work! Ive been watching you for 2 years because Im totally amazed by these american cars/trucks, and everytime i see the metric unit system which i am used to, i am very thankful for it. Love from Germany!
YAY I SAW MOOK LOVE YA !!!
I loved the ending❤
Bob reminds me of Shake, from aqua teen 😂😂
Loved watching all the fun! Thx
NOT the SUN SCREEN that removes sharpie, it is probably the carrier. the sun screen is mixed another chemical most probably alcohol. Rubbing alcohol removes ink, might also be the propellant, probably isobutane which has some solvent properties like gasoline.
I’m such a big fan I literally have dreams about meeting you guys you guys keep me sane ❤️🤘🏻
Your videos are always amazing, thanks so much for the hard work! Cheers all the way from Finland!
the c10hhh! love that ol' rust nut.
We need more burned nova and miss mook in the channel more go karts and motorbikes aswell plz keep up the bangers kev top job guys and girls from james in uk🇬🇧💯🚗🏁
Thanks for the ride
You all need to say hi to mook ever once in a great
The ring gear looks like a big Danish pastry. You went off camera and ate it.
Who doesn't love Uncle Tom 😅 what a Character
The comfort shits in Mt Vernon matches the rest of the town. Been here my whole 30 years 🤣
So good. Thanks for taking us with you.
So cool guys! I need to get a car together and be part of this!!
Ants on the dash😂
My old bull nose ford has an ant nest somewhere too, there are so many and I can’t figure it
Love it! Great show ya'll!
Best car RUclipsr ever
Absolutely love the content brother.
The Ford guy is becoming a Chevy guy I love it
11:40 I can't stop laughing at the tiny hammer hahaha
that hammer is our most used hammer! Easy access, and not very much weight so its precise. We lost it last week tho... very sad day here
I live about a mile from that orange barn 😂 unfortunately I have a 75 chevelle that I couldn't get done in time for power tour
If you ever need to cool something fast, a fire extinguisher works great.
I almost bought a squarebody with a 2.72 or 2.92 rear end. I never knew they geared them like that 😂
Btw, the great arch was designed by finnish guy =) greetings from finland!
I don't know if this would help cooling, but I use manifold vacuum rather than ported for more spark advance at idle to give myself a more efficient idle during long traffic jams, and haven't experienced any cooling problems in traffic jams. Also, I don't think I would tolerate power tour traffic. I think I would park by the road side and cheer the hotrod traffic like watching a parade, until it ended, then navigate independently to intercept it and repeat. Though I also have yet to attend because I think it is scheduled and routed too hot and should avoid the South and even the central states in summer, either running in spring, autumn, or near the Canadian border.
Everything just breaks down during powertour lol
