WOW, you made a lot of changes, on my swap I am on a no-money budget, LOL yesterday my 17-year-old daughter and I took off the 66 Chevy Step-side cab and front end together with a Ford backhoe tractor and placed it on a 2000 Cadillac Escalade chassis with the 5.7 Vortec, used a 4-point lift two straps to the front and one through the cab door openings, the hardest part was the alinement with the frame, used for stands on the 66 assembly and squared it to the frame. The cab frame mounts on the 66 cab line up with the frame within 1 of center in on each side of the 2000 Cadillac Escalade chassis frame rails. The front end is where I see I am going to have to do some modifications as they are a lot narrower. I was worried about the steering driveshaft alignment until I saw your solution was a "knuckle" I will be contacting you on that for sure, also the bed mounting solutions were great to see, my problem is I have a long step bed and I am going to have to shorten it to the present wheelbase, the spacers you made for the rear fenders looks expensive, I am thinking maybe offset wheel rims may be the solution for my build.
Started down this road a few years ago with my 68 C20, sitting on an 04 Denali SWB chassis. Still mocking up the cab mounts where I want them, to sit the body as close to the frame as possible. I then found this video, and you did *exactly* as I had planned out to do mine. Thanks for the info, helps my OCD-like brain with completing the project.
I'm so glad to find out that the Escalade rolling chassis fits so easily, I have a 1970 C10 short bed fleetside truck And was about to spend a fortune getting a Fabtech or other companies that make them for $13k and up. Thanks for the info.
@Rustomod I would highly recommend there double adjustable coil over for sure the ability to set them up buy simply turning to nobs is amazing and great quality for sure and especially going on all wheel drive c10 I'll be happy to pick up my c10 this year and hopefully start working on it
Legit build… I’m trying a Tahoe frame to a 1965.. can you recommend a steering column?? And I wondered if there is a need to remove ABS box and splice lines or just leave it??? Thx.. props from Phx AZ
Great info dude!!! I was wondering if the frame of the cab was the same width as the escalade frame and you explained it perfectly. Now you've got me curious about the width of a fleet side bed 🤔
Hey Man Awesome build ! You've really inspired me to undertake this project for my 1970 c10. Question Do you have issues with your front tires rubbing ? what size rims and tires are you using? Thanks in advance!
I watched this video and the next day started ripping my yukonxl apart for my 55 chevy pickup.... also what coilovers are those off of so I know what o es to buy
Can you please tell me what rear coil over spring you used? I have a 05 Yukon Denali, I am wanting to delete the rear spring and put a coil over in the shock location like you did. Did it affect anything deleting the rear spring? I have a 69 C10 going on it! Thanks
Did it come with Coil Springs suspension from the factory or did it have struts? I’ve been trying to find out if the Yukon came with coil spring instead of torsion bar or if it’s just an all wheel. Any other info would help.
great job… I’m working on the same SWAP it’s a 69’ C10 on an a escalade 2007, grate to know on how you widened the rear fenders but didn’t get how to deal with front as I’m ganna use the same 20” wheels of the escalade. Will that work? or do I need the get a different set of wheels.
I’ve been following you since the LS fest in Bowling Green , I talked with your father a little while.. my question is how did you save the brake lines and utilize them. Thanks
I got my brakes set up so thanks for the info. Now onto the steering. I saw in one of your vids you used speed works column and a DD coupler. What did you use for the lower intermediate shaft?
What length coilovers? I'll be getting some viking ones, but rough idea of the current length? Also, I'm assuming that you didn't use a drop spindle. Anything change on the rear regarding "drop"?
Im not sure the length these were a direct bolt on for a tahoe/ Escalade I used the drop arms to help with camber correction but stock knuckles. The rear is just lowered with the coilovers but probably will need a c notch if you want to go lower.
Thanks for the quick response. I don't plan on dropping mine quite as low. I'd like a 1 to 2" gap between the top of the tire and the fenders. Think a drop a-arm will still be needed? Hate to install these stock replacements if I have to go back through and put in the drop arms. Thanks again! I've been sitting on my project for 10 years now doing the same thing. Your video helps inspire more than you realize.@@Rustomod
@@Rustomod sick. I come from the bike world where the vins are stamped on the frame and whatever the frame is is whatever it’s registered as. This is an awesome idea though so I wanted to know cause it’d suck to have a c10 that’s subject to modern car laws and regulations

Hey, cool build. I have found your build and have been wanting to do the same thing. Do you know how much your finished truck weighs? Also, did you swap the front diff when you change the transfercase?
I need all these videos like yesterday 😅😅

So glad I found this video... Getting ready to mate a 62 Chevy short bed on to a 2007 Cadillac Escalade... This pumps me up LOL Great job.

I have a 1955 Chevy pickup 2nd series that I have been wondering how to put a Cadillac Escalade AWD under it?!
You have DONE IT!!

Awesome
The "action line" pickups are my favorite all time Chevy pickup. Ive always wanted one. Cool Vid!
Awesome thanks for watching!
Nice going … with this build and explanation of how you put this together
Thanks!
excelente explanation of the build thank you and awesome truck
Nice!!!! I am building a 58 Apache and want to put the 58 body on a 2011 Escalade frame. I think the width will be the biggest issue.
Could be i know the older trucks are narrow but i think it should work still.
Did have any luck?
Awesome video man you inspire us who have C10 projects
I hope so! Thank you!
I recommend IHC they make great upper and lower control arms for that frame and maybe QA1 coils might help u great truck the idea is badass
Later on we actually installed control arms in a more recent video! I’ll have to talk to qa1 to see what they have that would work

I think you can leave it might be a good idea to remove it just to not cause any issues I’m using the motion raceworks steering column
Thx man!!
Way cool!! I can’t wait for the next video! I was just planning a similar swap!
Hopefully this video can help!
Do you have video for how the engine wiring went

Glad it helped
Nice truck just bout a 72 c10 step side still deciding wat engine combo to go for
Nice!
Nice job dude! Digging it 👍
Thanks !
So with rear coilovers you don’t need the spring/coil between the axle and frame spring perch anymore?
Nope you remove them
Hey Man Awesome build ! You've really inspired me to undertake this project for my 1970 c10. Question Do you have issues with your front tires rubbing ? what size rims and tires are you using?
Thanks in advance!
This truck has the GM Transport wheels on them they are 22x9.5 they rub slightly in the front but not too bad for how low it is.
What tire size ?
thanks for the videos keep them coming
Awesome video! You did a great job of explaining everything. Working on putting a 72 c10 on my 2002 Denali frame right now. How far is it lowered?
It’s gotta be 4-5 inches I think
OK, thank you. That helps a lot.
I watched this video and the next day started ripping my yukonxl apart for my 55 chevy pickup.... also what coilovers are those off of so I know what o es to buy
Wow awesome! The coilovers are maxpeedingrod Tahoe coilovers

I used an old maxpeedingrod kit I don’t think they sell it now but I think I saw somewhere qa1 might sell a kit for it now
@@Rustomod ok thank you for the update!
What rubber isolators did you guys run? And how thick? Any pics of the spacers you made for the bed sides?
We cut out 3/8th thick spacers for the front out of a sheet of rubber. I can go over the bed mounts more in the cab/bed video on Friday.
how much did you notch for the front core support? I just picked up a donor chassis and I’m looking to do the same.
I believe 2 inches
Did it come with Coil Springs suspension from the factory or did it have struts? I’ve been trying to find out if the Yukon came with coil spring instead of torsion bar or if it’s just an all wheel. Any other info would help.
The 07+ came with coil spring struts the older years has torsion bars
I see that background punisher art. WWG1WGA
Love the video🔥, what chassis donor would you use for a 74 crew cab short bed.
Probably a duramax

That should definitely work! I just got some front control arms to help with the camber so I will make a video on that when I install them
Do you think an 87 elco bod will fit onto an escalade chasis? Im thinking the width might be too narrow for the chassis?
Probably
But what have you done to the transmission, t-case and different? Are they stock or have you modified them.
The trans is built to hold the power the t case is stock
Dude! Love the Punisher Q! WWG1WGA!
I’ve been following you since the LS fest in Bowling Green , I talked with your father a little while.. my question is how did you save the brake lines and utilize them. Thanks
We utilized the existing ones but connected them together at the abs pump so we didn’t have to worry about the abs
So took out the ABS box?? Splice the lines?
I’m not sure if I should remove the box or not?? And why!!??
It looks like the front camber is out on the truck though, might need to adjust that or add some height to suspension
Yes explained in the end of the video. Thanks!
What did you measure from to center the cab on the frame left and right?
I’d have to look send me an email
So when do you get bindings with the 241c when turning in 4wd "awd mode"?
Yes somewhat working on fitting a trail blazer ss case to it’s truly awd more videos to come on that soon if I can get my hands on one

I’m not sure I’d imagine the blazers much shorter
