Hi DIYGUY, just fitted a set of 3 downlights into my bathroom (IP Rated of course) to replace my old ceiling rose. Had a slight bit of figuring out to do when I got to the rose and discovered 5 cables coming out of it. Worked out they were the shaver socket feed and the extractor fan. Couldn’t have done it without your video, saved myself a lot of money and the bathroom looks much better. Thankyou mate 👍🏼

Thanks. Unfortunately it is not quite so easy. The best way is always to try and gain access above by removing floorboards if possible. If this is not possible in some cases you can use wire feeding tools but it is dependant on joist direction as to whether this will be practical.

Great video. Moving house next month and going to attempt putting spotlights in the kitchen myself, so this video will definitely help.
Noticed you used different wago connectors for each wire, does it matter what ones you use?

It doesn't matter. To be honest I just used what I had in my pocket!

Any advice on what brand and wattage is good? What’s the general rule of thumb on how many do you need for a room?

Not an expert, but I daisy chained eight LED spotlights in my bathroom 11'x5' and it's perfectly bright. Having said that, do consider if you want Warm white or Icy/Cool white as I used icy/cool white for the bathroom but warm white for spots under my kitchen wall cabinets where a cosier feeling is appreciated.

    Hi there great video! :)
Quick question if I may - what is the best way to find out which spotlight is the first in the circuit without disconnecting each one? I am going to be installing Lutron Dimmers to my spotlights and it will need the first light to be disconnected from the circuit to install the dimmer module.

Great video. I just have one stupid question. When you say connect the wires from the previous room, that just means the previous pendant light cables right? Very useful video and will be giving this a go. Thanks

Hi. Yes, the wire coming from the ceiling light in the previous room on the circuit.

excellent videos, thanks. With the electrics do you need to be qualified or get the work certified?
