Thank you so much for this very useful information. The best piece of advice that I learned from this was that I have a time frame for how long I wait to file a chargeback claim. Knowing this, I'll now put more pressure on the company to deliver the goods that got lost in the mail, so they say. They took out my money as a down payment. This is NOT ok.

Unfortunately I don’t believe so. It’s really their word over yours and I’m assuming you don’t have any photo evidence of the vehicle’s condition upon its return :/ have you informed the rental car company that you’d like to dispute their (probably erroneous) claim? There might be a loophole/work-around somewhere in the rule book. I’m not an expert though, that’s just my humbled opinion

Neil Allen if you go through the charge back system and you were scammed you are almost guaranteed to get your money back. So it is better to just go through the situation that way.
I ordered some leg circulation equipment from a company online. Credit card company paid the company. Never received the item. Filed a complaint with credit card company 8 months ago. I think the company has gone out of business now. What do I need to do to get my credit card charged back. 8 months sounds like a long time to resolve this issue. Advice would be appreciated.
Most of the credit cards issuers will compensate you, since you didn't get the item. Check with your issuer.

what happens when the customer, me, puts a service from a Dr into dispute w/ creditcard co. Credit Card co. resolves dispute in My favor. Then dr sends me the same bill saying I owe him the money... How can dr do this? Creditcard co. said he can never charge to my card again so this is just a paper invoice dr sent me. I have zero intent on paying him.

Chargebacks will not have a negative impact on your credit score. However, if you have a large number of them, they can have an impact on your merchant account.
I had 24hrs to inspect product was not damaged. I went way over the 24hrs and the beyond repair .now the merchant won’t refund anything because it states the 24hr thing in the term and conditions.. is it a waste of time to try..?

I bought a so called "cuddle clone" and paid £186 + £ 50 Duty from the US ( i am in the UK) in July 22 when i received my Item i was so disappointed the "toy " I received was nothing like my dog at all . I contacted the Company provided pictures of the toy i received and they agreed that " in this case they got it wrong" and they want to re do it again . Because i was so disappointed and lost trust i decided against a remake and ask my money back. Cuddle clone told me they don't do refund !? So i contacted my Credit card and requested a recharge which i received on July 5th . The toy i donated to a charity shop ! I thought it was done and lost £50 Duty i paid. Today 23.09 ( 8 weeks after i got my refund) i received a letter from my credit card telling me that the Company challenged my chargeback and now have to pay again ? I thought the company only have 45 days to challenge ???
