you needed to pour water on the surface first and let it sit for a while. Forcing the scum off wil ruin the finish and eventually expose the metal causing it ato rust.
I think it would be helpful to a degree to put Dawn dish soap w water on there, and let it sit. It may soften some of it up and make it easier. I just bought a steamer myself. Coming along nicely.
pre scrub with dish soap and water mixture. Let it sit. Use the steamer to rinse in a slower motion than shown. Use the steamer inconjuction with other smart cleaning methods. I love my steamer.
I totally feel your pain. I just bought a house that has the filthiest stove I ever saw. Only it's black so I never saw the baked on grease around the burners. I cried when I saw how nasty it is. Spent 2 1/2 hours scrubbing with baking soda and vinegar that has always worked when something boils over on my stove but not this time. What kind of steamer did you use, how much did it cost, and where did you buy it?
I was out of the country for a few months, came home after the house sitter we hired, family friend, and found my 13 year old stainless steel gas cook top basically destroyed. It looked like they burned tar on it. I am going to try this technique. Thanks for this video.
There is no way I could clean up behind a stranger's filth without a thick pair of gloves and maybe goggles and a face mask while doing all of this. #BURNitDOWN
Last year i had my stove top on 24/7 for winter times and it ruined it. Now i have a black stove, with an actual working oven and i use my oven as a heater for winter this year.
Is the steamer brush a metal wire brush? Would you know if I used a grill brush (metal) while spraying boiling water will work? Would that mess up the paint or scratch the stovetop? Thanks in advance
i know people dont like Easy Off Cleaner but it would have taken all that off in two seconds feel bad for you that these people that dirty my condolences
Exactly lol landlord's are so money hungry. I get it's a business and they can't buy a stove after every single tenant, but come on this looks 15 yrs old and it's trash.
MorrisonGirl that’s why I only rent from management companies and I try to rent new builds. Which is what I just did. Nobody has used anything in my apt but me. I can see myself in my oven racks because they sparkle. I pay a price for a brand new apt but it’s worth every dime. I lived in an apt that the oven was not dirty on outside but it was older than me and the racks had that furry grease/ greasy fur. Could not be cleaned. I refused to try. I ate out everyday until I got outta there.
Oh the nightmares i could tell you about when we evicted tenants and they would buy hundreds of dollars of meat open it up put in fridge and unplug it, after a month when they left the apartment would have hundreds of black flies and it smelled like rotting flesh. Sometimes people can be real pos .
clearly steam cleaner is not the solution. i just tried the same actually, totally futile. the only thing the steam cleaner gets off is the same stuff that soap, water, and a brush will get off.
Am renter an none of my stoves looks like that ...I take great care of where I live even though renting That ashme that those particular individuals have no respect for where they live ...sad
Please have somebody hold the camera for you because I could hardly see anything you were doing. You kept showing the top of the stove. So, can you do another video like this with someone holding the camera, please? I would really like to actually see what you're doing.
That’s cool and all but out of respect to the next tenant they should and deserve a new stove. That apartment looks disgusting. Actually just throw the whole thing away.
Hey, at least your approval rating (in terms of up votes/total votes) is better than Joe Biden's! 😂 Seriously though, I wonder how those who down voted would clean a stove top...they probably think it is too much work, and would just buy a new stove.
When I had a cleaning service we had some India people want us to clean their apartments.... there were 2 apartments. Their stoves were a little dirtier than this. No idea how they get them that dirty. Shower was just as bad. I told them it would take $1 million for my girls to clean that mess!! Our rule after that was that we did not clean for India people, ever! By the way.... my best friend since 1989 is from India so I am not racist.
And to ad to that, if people from India didn't try to fuck others out of what they owed and they weren't so damn FILTHY, we would have cleaned for them. It's something you learn in business, who you want your customers to be and who you don't. I'm sure you would be on our DON'T list. We didn't like having cunts as customers either. And if you think other businesses, especially big cleaning companies don't do this too, you are 100% wrong. I know cleaning business owners from all over the world and it goes on each and every day of the week.
Man throw that stove away
🤣😂🤣
Muhammad Malik that’s what i said
Yo I was thinking the same. He must be a cheap ass landlord whos trying to save every penny
He bought it on Kijiji
MONEY/SUCCESS 10Million Nah. It’s probably decent stove. Just some lazy ass tenants couldn’t keep it clean.
Thanks for the steamer tip I tried it with my regular clothing steamer and a few other products 🤯❤️ worked like magic !!
You welcome
you needed to pour water on the surface first and let it sit for a while. Forcing the scum off wil ruin the finish and eventually expose the metal causing it ato rust.
Everybody is an expert
Ty just got in today gonna try it out lol also cleaning a oven that was left here at my house

😅

Man I hope the money from rent is worth it. That’s looks messy AF!! How is the rental income from that?
There is no way I could clean up behind a stranger's filth without a thick pair of gloves and maybe goggles and a face mask while doing all of this. #BURNitDOWN
I can't think like that after investing in a lot of properties I just have to get use to it.
Props to you! That stove is a mess. What kind of steamer are you using though ?
It's a McCulloch
One steam cleaner from dupray is better
Last year i had my stove top on 24/7 for winter times and it ruined it.
Now i have a black stove, with an actual working oven and i use my oven as a heater for winter this year.
I would spray with that dawn powerwash spray... let it sit for a bit while I clean something else, steam, and wipe with microfiber clothes
Try letting it soak with a dollar store clear called “Awesome Cleaner” then steam. Magic!
Judy Morgan try tossing the whole oven
Yea I love awesome although it is very potent
Not bad!
What other products did he use besides the steamer ?
I use Fantastic all purpose cleaner
What's the name of the steam cleaning device you're using?
It's a McCulloch
Cleveland steamer I believe.
google user Harbor Freight sells them for $100
I would do quaterly inspections on my tenants in the future.
I would line that with foil before another tenant steps foot in that house!!!!!
Wow i need a steamer
Still looks like hard work. haha
Is the steamer brush a metal wire brush? Would you know if I used a grill brush (metal) while spraying boiling water will work? Would that mess up the paint or scratch the stovetop? Thanks in advance
Brass bush
I don't know if I care if it would scratch at this point
i know people dont like Easy Off Cleaner but it would have taken all that off in two seconds feel bad for you that these people that dirty my condolences
Easy off is my go to degreaser even in the bathroom
EPBF1 Should have thrown the whole oven away

Exactly lol landlord's are so money hungry. I get it's a business and they can't buy a stove after every single tenant, but come on this looks 15 yrs old and it's trash.

@@mel3760 Well now we know why Kenny Handyman Investor owns real estate and you don't! 😂
my discovery is to use hair relaxer, leave it overnight
TheMaracuya9 you can do it cheaper and just use lye it's the same chemicals as relaxer
Really I’m going to try that
What brand can I use?
gervacio ventura I would assume any brand of hair relaxer would work. I would get a super you can get relaxers from Sally’s beauty supply
gervacio ventura Try Dark and Lovely
You should've sprayed it with super clean and let it sit for 3 minutes. Then steam it up and it would've come off easy.
Some people never if ever, clean.
scraper thats used for gum or paint would have helped
take it apart, then clean it, put it back together . new stove.
Ed Wackrow Throw it away
nice fish eye lens.
Oh the nightmares i could tell you about when we evicted tenants and they would buy hundreds of dollars of meat open it up put in fridge and unplug it, after a month when they left the apartment would have hundreds of black flies and it smelled like rotting flesh. Sometimes people can be real pos .
It happen to me once when I come in the house maggots everywhere. It smell like dead corpse.
clearly steam cleaner is not the solution. i just tried the same actually, totally futile. the only thing the steam cleaner gets off is the same stuff that soap, water, and a brush will get off.
U could of soften first with mineral oil or vegetable oil
You’ll scratch the hell out of the plastic surface using the green side of that pad
Would it really matter? Look at the thing.
That took way longer than 15-20 minutes lol
Am renter an none of my stoves looks like that ...I take great care of where I live even though renting That ashme that those particular individuals have no respect for where they live ...sad
I wish I have more tenants like you. Most of appliances are new before they move in. It's hard finding good tenants
Please have somebody hold the camera for you because I could hardly see anything you were doing. You kept showing the top of the stove. So, can you do another video like this with someone holding the camera, please? I would really like to actually see what you're doing.
I want a steamer!
throw the whole stove away!!!!
o k Exactly 💯
That’s cool and all but out of respect to the next tenant they should and deserve a new stove. That apartment looks disgusting. Actually just throw the whole thing away.
Damn bro did you mistake that oven for the toilet or what!!!! Looks like someone took a big shit and ran away after.
That doesn't work 😆😆😆😆😆😆
Hey, at least your approval rating (in terms of up votes/total votes) is better than Joe Biden's! 😂
Seriously though, I wonder how those who down voted would clean a stove top...they probably think it is too much work, and would just buy a new stove.
Throw the WHOLE KITCHEN AWAY, it's disgusting
I did try that, but it seem tenants damage any new one in a couple of months
