"What's this the U.N. now?!"
Throughout The Sopranos, both Tony Soprano and John Sacrimoni are fan favourite characters. The two are introduced during the first season of The Sopranos and right away the two share plenty of similarities. At the time of their introduction, the two are both relatively young and waiting to take over the reigns of each respected family. But both are behind elderly bosses in Junior and Carmine Lupertazzi. Both too are caring family men, father figures, and at time for Tony, a loving husband. See this is where John out numbers Tony, despite both of them being stone cold gangsters, John is relentless at always and consitently being a loving husband no matter the situation. Whether it's other mafiosos poking fun at his wife or the fact that he wouldn't cheat on his wife. John stays loyal no matter the ocassion when it comes to Ginny. Which brings up the question, which mafioso was better? And what are the similarities between the two fan favourite characters?

If Johnny were a carpenter, and Tony were a douchebag...
That phrase isn't as powerful without the swearing..
Let’s address the 500 pound elephant in the room: Ginny Sack
Real lack of standards your generation.
It's a small room, she could tip it over
More like 405. The 95 pound mole was removed, remember
Ooooooooh!
Funny line indeed, a 500 elephant is strange because that is nowhere near what elephants actually weigh. I know that's the point but I appreciate how funny it is.
Johnny Sack loved his wife and children and was never unfaithful to her, he genuinely loved her and accepted her.
And considering his wife is less attractive than Carmella that makes it slightly more admirable
Her 95 lbs mole was very allegorical.
He loved her like a brother in law
He didn't know that she was messing around with another guy behind her back. He never met the guy though.
Tony might not have been very faithful to his wife but he did love her and definitely loved his kids
It’s tragic that Tony would end up making fun of Johnny just because he was faithful to his wife. Like being loyal to your loved ones is a sign of weakness.
Love how the show explores many sides of their hypocrisy.
The scene with Johnny and Ginny when he catches her with the candy is very interesting. Johnny flies off the handle not because she’s eating candy, but because she lied to him. Though he goes a little too far in his anger, it’s clear that he loves Ginny no matter what.
I wonder how things would’ve played out if John was never raided during his and Tony’s meeting.
Meeting? It was just a glorified visit!
I think there would be peace until John got cancer then with Phil in the top spot war would've happened. It's not even so much about his brother it's mostly because the world and organized crime was changing and Phil didn't like it. And he felt that 20 years owed him.
@@ryankeefe2102 No matter the outcome, Phil was just so destructive as a person he'd bring it all down with him if he needed to
@nealcomstock1958 Phil couldn't bare the fact the world changed in 20 years
@@ryankeefe2102 A lot of these guys are ruled by their petty side, and their bitterness. And the guys who did a long prison stretch definitely come out with a sort of aggressive impatience - Phil most of all, but it is also the downfall of Richie Aprile, of Feech LaManna, and even Tony Blundetto.
Tony & Sack in that ‘How I met your mother’ thumb came out of nowhere
In my personal opinion, when John cried at the wedding, his measure of a man just fuckin plummeted
i think tonys unpredictability in his behaviour is the key difference
Tony only wanted to give Vito a pass because of the money - which he was heavily gambling - not because he was accepting of him being a finook
In the end, it was always the money which won these arguments, except for with Phil, and even there I think it was to appease his religious wife rather than be hen pecked about the subject.
Not that anyone should feel bad for Vito, because he was a two-faced kind of guy who was always sniffing around for ways to undermine & betray the guys around him. If Tony knew how disloyal Vito actually was, he'd have gladly given the green light to whack him.
A million and Tony would've joined Vito in his gayish shenanigans
Ginny taught Philly the cheese on the radiator trick
One was the boss of a real family, the other just moved his weight around with a glorified crew
It's funny how people say the fbi in this show were so incompetent. Maybe it was just because they put most of their resources toward taking down the brass of a NY family and wernt as concerned with that pygmy thing.
He was Boss for one episode. lol
@@anthonyaffer3766and most episodes depicted the NJ mob, doesn't change that they were nothing but a glorified crew
Ginny was reubenesque when she sold ties at Wannamakers
Biggest difference between John and Tony: climbing ability
Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh! That’s the Boss you’re talking about
say did yall kno phil did 20yrs in the can??? why he neva said nun🤔
Why do they call it the can?
And not a peep! He compromised. Ate grilled cheese off the rahdiator.
@@l-whyrushme-l5948because it's a movie, a tv progrum
He compromised.
He never mentioned it.
One thing I could never understand throughout the show as exactly how many years did Phil spent in the can
I really wish writers clarified that
I liked your hat! Keep up the amazing content my friend!
You're right..I didn't realize how different and yet similar the two were. I always thought they were similar and yet different.
Can ya imagine that? Not realising how different yet similar the two were, while always thinking they were similar yet different?
Until we know for sure how similar and different they are it’ll be really hard to tell how similar and different they are.
@odeleon24 Very Allegorical of you to notice.
Theory has it that Johnny Boy had a 10 inch shlong (sorta like Sonny Corleone) and Ginny was the only one who could handle him balls deep. And a nickname is born.
Great breakdown on defining manhood versus reality. Consequences exist irrespective of whether in reality our decisions are right or wrong.
John was a much better boss, sure he was hot-headed but always had his men's back unlike Tony who beat up and killed his men and he loved his wife never cheated on her
Rest in Peace Denise Borino
Johnny was not one of boys , like Tony. Most of Tony men enjoy Tony. Well Johnny family was cut thorat. Both Johnny and Tony became parnoid as time went on. Both men lived their family
Those islanders tickets right?
How about this humidity? 👋
Honestly. I feel like if Tony didn't die, he would most likely cooperate. Just saying 😌
My estimation of Ginny Sack as an elephant just fucking plummeted
Johnny's loyalty to the Mafia was questionable because of his allocution.
You know I’ve been thinking recently? What if Ralph told Tony the info learned about Paulie talking to John and telling him about the joke? It might of prevented a lot the fallout and strengthened Tony’s and John relationship in my opinion…
Johnny Sack never had the makings of a boss. Tony never had the makings of a Varsity athlete.
Tony became boss through a bloodless coup with senior capos over drinks and cigars. Johnny had to wage a bloody civil war to get the throne, and his reign ended shortly thereafter with his face in a snowbank.
I wouldn't call it bloodless, after they gave him the fake title and not really kicking to him, Junior started to get greedy and " wouldn't even pass the salt" so Tony decimated his uncle's crew to keep him isolated from what was happening in the street. 4 of his man dead, 2 transferred to Tony's crew leaving him with a few old guys in the background (not named) and Bobby Baccala Jr.
The stuff at the 3 minute mark isn’t totally accurate. Tony displays emotions when he rescues AJ from his suicide attempt in the pool.
No one was there to see it
Get Pudgy Walsh on the horn, he will straighten this out
I never thought he cried because his time was up at the wedding.. I thought Johnny cried because while the FBI let him go.. when they pulled him they did it right at one of the sentimental parts (watching ypur daughter drive away to start their new life) so he was more upset the fbi ruined his daughters wedding and his moment to see her off
John and Tony are both predators. Both can be petty and hold grudges. Both have a tendency to be hard-asses for no reason sometimes. Both are able to act like they are at peace with someone and then snuff that person out later. Both like to have the self-image of protecting the ladies in their life, except with Tony it seems more selfishly motivated.
But Johnny Sack is a slow-burner - he's not likely to be the guy who beats someone down with a phone or something. The whole time of the show, did you ever see John do the dirty work himself? If he ever did harm someone personally, it would have been back when he was a soldier, not one of the elite. Tony on the other hand, is ready to personally curb-stomp a guy even when he is a boss. He can't ever step outside of being a jock at heart, even if he is capable of thinking strategically and with cunning, sometimes he'll just let his anger and need to be the dominant male turn him into a caveman. John never does much to excess, save for smoking (oops), and whether he ever banged someone other than Ginny is unknown; if he did, they meant nothing and he sure never had a mistress. Tony seems to be much more a slave to his self-indulgences, especially booze and women, and with the women he often had emotional entanglements.
Both were flashy in their own way, both were prone to rage and angry outbursts as well as pointless violence, both were in many ways good and bad at being bosses, both were great earners, both held onto the ideal version of LCN, among many other things.
But Tony was more unpretentious, Johnny was a faithful family man, Tony was more hands on, Johnny knew when to delegate, Johnny smoked while Tony ate and chased tail, Johnny was emotionally open while Tony was reprassed to an unhealthy degree, Johnny did balance family and work while Tony never could, the list goes on.
Ginny was a nice lady. Just got dealt a scrappy hand at life
Johnny was also letterman in high school because he had the makings.
Carm is hiding a hundred grand in the seed...... Ginny sac is hiding 100 grand ....BUTT...... 🤔😂
I'm depressed 😞
Fragileness?….who are you, little carmine?
They were both pragmatists
What is this, the F'ing UN?
How some people can argue that Sacrimoni was the better boss when he broke the most foundational rules of La Cosa Nostra is mind blowing
My estimation of John Sacramoni as a man has F'N plummeted.
So did Tony Soprano by going to the shrink. Livia was the only one who played by the rules, wanted her own son whacked because he went to see a shrink
Bobby was the same in regards to the love he had for his wife … the first one anyway 😒
Johnny Sack, the best underboss but he was a decent boss. Tony Soprano, an excellent Capo but really a mediocre boss. Both were smart and ballsy guys who could have been excellent, but their emotions and their egos clouded their judgment. Silvio, a great consigliere, racketeer, hitman and the only subordinate with the balls to advise Tony objectively without fear of hurting his feelings. But Sil proved that he didn’t have the stomach for the seat.
The only one who was a true Don was Carmine Lupertazzi. He was rock solid across the board, unemotional, objective and a bottom line businessman.
John was still a f head case even though he loved his wife !
0:58 Tony should've kissed John right there and then! BOOM! End of fucking story!
It's undignified. John needs something more rubenesque, like Bobby Bacala.
The guy does 20 years in the can - 20 years. Eats off the radiator for gods sake. And you do this ? You make this video ? These accusations ?
Johnny practically looked for excuses to be offended.
They were gay, Tony and John?
Greasin the Esplanade, who knew that's what they meant? ✊✊
LeBron James sopranos video
You sound like Noah Tannenbaum
John Sacrimoni was my favorite character on the show.
I don't think John had the makings of a varsity athlete, either; Jenny would've made a hell of a front lineman (lineperson?) in the NFL, though...
Sacramoni more of a man?
Did you forget when he cried like a woman?
Even Cinderella didn't cry
With daughters all bets are off
These channels are basically: 1. I dont wanna rewatch it all 2. I dont have time to watch it all 3. No HBOMAX (max. Terrible name now)
Thanks. Im 2
Why would loving ur wife make u look weak I don't get that
Because wives were seen as less than in that world basically just someone to breed with.
My big fat ex wife did the same thing.
She tipped Jersey over?
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣@@lean.2366
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Johnny sack… he was just a kid
Similarities? Both dead.
