Tracy Chapman proves you only have to write one iconic song ever. It’s a song that will live for a thousand years. In 1988, it was a 3 woman race for who would be the next big thing. Tracy had Fast Car, Edie Brickell & New Bohemians had What I Am, and Natalie Merchant’s 10,000 Maniacs had Like the Weather. 1988 was a HUGE year for female acts. I love love love this. I didn't even realize it came out in 1988. I remember hearing it in the 90s but definitely didn't know it was 1988. I love how the BOTH sounded together, great duet for a great song.
What a touching and incredible performance. The exchanges of glances on their faces tell such a sweet and powerful story on the immense and universal beauty of great music. I was in tears.
