Staying in an innermost part of eastern India I learnt about Tracy Chapman when she won the Grammy's. Since then she is one of my most favourite singers. Without use of any musical instrument except a guitar, she has created such powerful songs that they are relevant even on today's world.
I was the engineer who recorded the demo for her first album in my studio (Baker Street Studios) in Boston. I can tell you this: the demo was much more powerful than the album which seemed washed out and commercial in comparison using studio musicians, etc. She had been singing in the Harvard Square T (subway) stop. I do remember that she would not talk to me directly, always saying, "Tell the engineer..." this or that. At the time I took it for being very aloof. Since she was part of the record company machine she did not have to work her way up. She immediately had magazine covers and TV appearances and shot to fame "overnight." I wish someone would release a bootleg of that demo since Steve took all the tapes with him at the end of the session.
Wow, Ive wondered what ever happened to Tracy Chapman. I'm so happy to hear she is okay & just doing her own thing. The lady has class, values & morals. I personally wish her well & all kinds of happiness. With the utmost respect I tip my hat to you Tracy Chapman. One in a million you are.

I don’t like or dislike any musician based on their sexuality, I like them because of their talent and music. There love life is their own business. I hope she starts releasing more music.

I'm 68 and have her cd and my great-granddaughters who is 7 and four love her music we listen to it all the time
I was the engineer who recorded the demo for her first album in my studio (Baker Street Studios) in Boston.
Steve? Who dat?
I Love This Sister... She's So Real.. Tracy Chapman❤
I never get tired if listening to Tracy Chapmans songs . She is a gem, legendary.
Hey Tracy keep doing what you been doing girl. I love you and the music that you write and sing is a blessing to our world. May god continue to bless you.🙏🥳🙏continue to blow your horn until God says otherwise.
Absolutely love tracy chapman ...never get tired of listening.....most i know by heart!!!!!
I've always really loved her songs and her singing.
I have both her 1st and 2nd CDs!!! Absolutely incredible, never tire of hearing her songs, it's all about her art, talent, expression!!! Tracy Chapman, #RealR&B4Ever
I remember like it was yesterday buying her debut lp, and I sure played it to death, she seems to be a very humble lady, and one of the best talents of modern song writing.
Well summarized! I love music; i love creating music. I love people who love creating music because they love it and it brings them joy in the moment of doing so. In the true form of great artists, i love those who create exceptional music yet avoid the public!
Love her music, ALWAYS!❤️
What I love about her is you can hear that vulnerability-she hasn't lost touch with what really speaks to all of us.
I saw her in Washington DC during the march on behalf of the homeless… what a wonderful performer!
Recently?! Wow lucky you..
Good video about Ms. Chapman. Very well done. She is a very humble human being. We need more like her.
I love Tracy. Words cannot describe how beautiful she and her music are. It’s unfortunate this video exist for no reason whatsoever from what I can tell. Just stop.
I remembered discovering Tracey Chapman in High School, such soulful, pure and beautiful talent.
She is a wonderful and complexe artist! I love her voice and all her songs! ❤️❤️❤️❤️👋👋👋👋
I miss you Tracy Chapman and the world needs you because you're YOU and that's a lotta love.
'Revolution' is the soundtrack for our current times.
I miss Tracy Chapman.
Wow.
I just love her music! I completely agree about privacy. We don’t need to know about her love life. In fact we don’t need to know about anyone’s love life. I don’t like or dislike any musician based on their sexuality, I like them because of their talent and music. There love life is their own business.
I hope she starts releasing more music.
Her music is Timeless, Soulful and ..I LOVE HER ..SHE IS BEAUTIFUL ..MY VERY FAVORITE
She is such a rare talent. "Fast Car", is one, of my all-time favorite songs. ❤️🇺🇸
Me too.
"Fast Cars" was my introduction to Tracy Chapman, not an album but the single, they say it's 167 in the top 500, I say nonsense. Why give it a number, it is a fantastic poem put to music, great voice great lyrics, love the accoustic sound. Yes, I swear a few months ago I was thinking of Tracy Chapman and what became of her life and always think of "Fast Car", the story of the song always brought tears to my eyes. Thank you Tracy Chapman, I never made anything of my life and I am ashamed. After I heard "Fast Car" I was hooked on you as a person and artist a real artist of sound and words, few are that blessed.
Tracy C.has found the way to 'Stay Real' and i believe thats her magic, its great to finally see an artist stay true to herself no matter what! U go girl...👍👍👍😅
great mini doc. love tracy,,,, her strength and conviction is inspiring.......love her
Tracy refuses to be a " sell-out " and you should follow suit. I still have no idea what happened to Tracy and do not appreciate being suckered in with click-bait heading captions.
Agreed 100%. There are too many channels like this. Nothing but click bait titles and the content is crappy.
Nothing happened to her and that is good.
@@christineperez7562 Yes, it's good but the ass that uploaded this used click bait to draw in all of these views and for that he /she should have their hands slapped, and their mamma too, for not teaching them that honesty is the best policy.
That why i look at the comments first before i watch a video
It is a good watch and informative. It does explain what happened … meaning how did she get to where she is? Amazing story
Beautiful woman, beautiful voice, beautiful music.
Love Tracy's music and still has the power to enthral, well done and so pleased to hear her story via this channel.
Truly beautiful... This is someone I can be envious of then inspired.
Fast car was just some pop song from when I was a kid... Until I actually listened to the lyrics recently. I fucking bawled. That song is so powerful, and went on to look her up. She's fucking awesome.
I’m glad she performed at the 2024 Grammys
God blessed us with her. Amen
Bovine excreta! She was born with a human talent. Your imaginary friend had nothing to do with it!
I love her singing style and today is the first time I am seeing her, on RUclips! 28.08.2021
Tracy Chapman is a singer of life! Her songs are remarkable!! And her voice is beautiful! I so wish she would record something again! Such an amazing artist! 📀
No idea what happened to her, just glad she shared herself, wish her health and all the best and one huge thank you.
I love Tracy. I was fortunate to see her live. However, you've not answered your foundational question. Were is Tracy?
She is quite reclusive and lives in a place way out of the LA scene. She still performs. This is a sort of click bait, in that nothing has happened to her, she's just doing her thing in her quiet way.
Where*
I’m curious where as well.
Exactly, click bait or not.. nice story, but didn’t really learn anything about current TC situation. 😞
Love your music Tracy. you are a beautiful soul Keep your music coming.
❤I love Tracy Chapman ♥️ 🌻✨️
I have come to believe that she is the face of integrity. She's always been about truth and nothing else.
