  • Picked up this Ford bullnose dually on the cheap. She's got the 400 in her with a C6 auto trans. Also has a very generous Stal utility body on it. Hasn't run in many years, picked it up from a farmer. I have plans to use it as the channels primary repair/rescue vehicle. Still will, but we run into a slight problem at the end......think the repair rig is going to need.....repair. Yay me! My channel is for entertainment purposes only. Please don't repeat my shenanigans however epic they may be. Enjoy

    When I was a kid my dad made a "bug deflector" for our 85 Crown Vic Wagon. It was about a foot and a half tall, it looked more like a deer deflector haha.

      Brilliant! I'll be getting new plastic for it myself. It is vintage correct! Lol. Dont know why but it stands out on that hood. Ill have some Lincoln mark 4's and 5's coming to the channel with some other land boats as well. Our Crown Vic wagon was blue with fake wood paneling. Small world!

    Nice that it has a 11 foot service box. My f350 only has a 9 foot box.

      When I first saw it in person I realized wow that's a lot of storage! Them extended boxes are a little harder to locate. Very excited to have it in my fleet. Have much plans for it on the channel. Stay tuned!

    1980 was the first year for those seventh generation Ford F-series light duty pickups & not to forget the fullsize Broncos with that same body style & the medium duty F-series with that same cab design too. All of the light dutys were produced through 1986 but the medium dutys on the other hand were still in production up through 1999.

    • @SwedeMachine
      @SwedeMachine  2 года назад

      I was also shocked when I realized the C-6 transmission was still produced clear to 1996 for some very specific applications.

      @@SwedeMachine today I very seldom see any of those seventh generation Ford F-series pickups & fullsize Broncos with that same body style on the roads. I do still see a lot of the medium duty trucks on the roads tho.

    Hi Chris! Okay, I had to pause to brag on PB Blaster. I have a few stories about that stuff saving my hide. Now back to our feature presentation. Pause No. 2...A couple of days ago, I was watching Jeff Bradshaw (YT channel "ElderlyIron") lift out a 59 GMC manifold. Since he had an injured back, he used his cherry picker to pull that beast. I only mention this because I have already ruined my back and I really don't want a stand-up guy like you to do it too.

    • @SwedeMachine
      @SwedeMachine  Год назад

      I am a subscriber to Jeff! Fun fact we both live in the Pacific Northwest. I saw his car accident aftermath video. That was messed up. I’ll trying to use a lift from now on. My back is already aged more than what I actually am. I know I’ll be in trouble when I’m older. I’m looking for a hoist crane for this channels service rig as it already had one before it was sold to me. I admire Jeff, his ingenuity and determination to still turn a wrench! Bless that man😊💯🏁

    I have an old bull nose from the same year but with a 300 L6 engine and I am trying to rebuild it but here in Venezuela it costs a lot. For now I need a new carburetor and I think it has some broken rings since it leaks oil through the dipstick, with everything and that that old bull has incredible strength! I hope one day to finish it, Greetings from Venezuela

    If your truck has a 400 init, redo the bottom end, after 50,000 miles the mains go bad.

    • @SwedeMachine
      @SwedeMachine  3 года назад

      I had thought about revamping the 400 that's in it......but I was able to acquire a complete motor and mating transmission at an affordable price ssooo we will be doing a motor swap after the Toyota is on the road. This motor probably has over 200,000 miles on it so I'm pretty sure it all needs rebuilt. Good to know thanks!

    Hi brother, how did you adjust the eddiyprock Cap. ??

    • @SwedeMachine
      @SwedeMachine  2 года назад

      Most new carbs, such as this one, are tuned from factory enough to start the engine. After engine is warm adjust the 2 mixing screw on the front one at a time. Turn in clockwise until engine runs rough, then back the screw out about 1/4 turn or until engine runs smooth. That should get ya pretty close boss

      That was satire my friend. Yup it’s all the same. Given that this pick up sat in a field for over a decade and I never heard it run, I wasn’t going to fool around with a grimy carb that might have had problems.

    the m series ford engines 351 and 400 are best utilized as boat anchors take some advice from an old master tech please don't show people how to set themselves up for disappiontment and waste money i spent my entire fifty plus year career trying to change the image that idiots with wrenches cast on the business of auto repair i never looked for work or spent a penny on advertising people found me and i made a good living doing it
