Looks like a sharp old truck. I would love to find one of those one day. Especially living in Michigan, rare to see a truck like that with no rust and rot. I had an 1987 International, DT466 Dump Truck, it was decent. The only thing that was a little weird is the 5/2 drivetrain. I always thought a Eaton Fuller 9 speed would be better. Thanks for the video
Great market for used service trucks. I’m retired but have often thought about jumping back in and setting up a company to refurbish and sell used service trucks.
Hey Quinton !! Looks like a great find for sure ?? If that was a CA. truck ,,then it WON"T Smoke !! Did the right thing to change those tires out !! Have a good ride home ?? 🙃😉🙄🙄🙄👍👍👍👍👍
I had a 1986 like that truck. The cable on the accelerator pedal is known to wear out the ball or socket attached to the pedal.Ive had to drive it home with vice grips on the cable until I could replace the cable....The rear axles could develop a leak at spring perchs Mine did because it was a tanker.. Had it welded. I think international did have a recall but it be expired now..
Good morning I am glad you decided to revive that truck it is in really good condition in my opinion. I am looking forward to the other videos on this truck. I know it will make the drive pretty easily
I hear ya ive driven some real polished turds in my years and then again some true jewels too. It would have been better with a turnout with a top over slash to keep water out of the exhaust
You will probably be at your destination by now? I heard that truck ticking over and it sounds sweet to me. Plus it's got a two speed Eaton axle, awesome. Bob. New Zealand.
Look like you loved it after some white Rustoleum after a quick scuff and spew with said paint. :-)) Nice service truck and place for an extra set of tools devoted to just the portable stuff to maintain the other rigs in your fleet :-)
I put in some Lucas oil stabilizer and fuel system cleaner to help the fuel i also go to dollar tree get gasoline deicer i believe it runs in diesel or a bottle of rubbing alcohol to fuel to evaporate the water as the fuel cleaner breaks up the sludge unless you get a container and drain the fuel tank then screen back through a nylon stocking or paint screen to remove as much sludge
I think there is a truck stop out there that will have the right oil filters and i think loves truck stop will have what you are looking for parts on the engine and they should have them as well
Ha, pretty funny I just watched latest video from Ezrider359. He's a trucker that just bought a tow truck with that same DT motor it looks like. You should see what he plans for his tow truck.
I like the cabs I've seen a Ford fire truck from the 70s c class pump remove think that would make a nice service truck in process of moving to states Montana or idaho love the old Ford F1/F4 /F7 Chevy 41/46 waterfall grill plane to use one On a modern chassis build a car hauled start living my dream of restoring classics 40/50/60start content 700 miles will be easy vice trip garage can drive 2100 miles in a car with no oil pressure you can with eyes shut only joking lol
It must have a standard oil filter base... I know International does some goofy stuff from time to time, but I don't remember oil filters being one of them.
You found a really decent truck.... that said (can't ever please everyone/LOL) You had some real decent water pressure on the wash system that you were using so why not hose those out also? Some foamy grease releasing soap and nail them so they could dry on the way home (avoid washing those dorman boxes that have a very very high value) I wish there were places you could drive over say like a pit to wash under just as well so that when you do the S cam bushings and such, everything is just a lot easier plus the U joints could always stand knocking all the excess grease out. Its only fair to you, the new owner of said truck... I owned my own service trucks for many many years as in probably (call me a liar) fifty years as dad had one, I made my own first few trucks that went from pickups converted to all the way up to my last one bought brand new in 84. Just a small truck... three hundred and forty inch wheelbase with a rotator, two complete direct drive air systems that got me home when the truck compressor went down. I had the air suspension with a lift on the back and also a mid steer axle Big floaters on the front tires and then ran the yokohama tires mostly. I was more into sipping the tires than do heavy grips as they did not pick rocks as bad. I owned thirty highway trucks but this service truck was for the two heavy dump and a few lowboy rigs I had. I also did a few courtesy calls for immediate friends (funny how everyone is your immediate friend who will always be there for you so said) I rolled in suspension jobs or differentials, planetaries, transmissions and complete axle swaps on some jobs. I really must be getting to old as I don't remember the names of my different welders I had on my rig. What set it off was a good friend and I did some cartoon characters all around the truck.... the visor and get this... I ran the exhaust under and out the back as it got in the way of the rotator at times. Back to your rig, I would of found a low wire across the road or something before coming back with someones dream of a tailpipe that you took off so kudos to you for fixing that. I like the truck you have and would of been proud to be the meck on it. I also played in the motor pool in the army. I am crippled up so bad that I haven't walked three steps in the last ten plus years. While you are farting around, try to knock that tear back in the front bumper then give it a coat of black paint to break up all the white color. Chrome will not get you home but if its being towed back even, it still is miles ahead of a plain jane company truck. I was very impressed with the interior of this rig, really in nice shape..... and it is a home for mice down inside the vent system. Them rodents are much worse it seems as time has gone by... I would hope that you pay attention to this as they get up in the headliner and pee all over to rust everything out real bad. I putting pressure on you to do this or that when I should just make a short "nice truck" comment is not fair nor right to you. My intentions are meant kindly and would rather you just do it your own way to make the most money possible.. I try to egg someone out of that same old jane wears granny unders so a little spice is nice
Corndog yum japolinoes yuk. Sweet old S series being as it hasnt been used much since it was parked ,it may have had a servicing but like most they for get to track them.
Emission laws suck I have had to replace my truck twice in England because it doesn't pass because it's too old even though it would pass on the MOT test it's a tax on the workings man who can't pay every day to use the truck
Do you want a black crane? A taller exhaust will stop the crane from getting all the soot that horrible International excuse for a motor will pour out. If that had been sitting for, I think you said eight years you should replace all the tyres, any tyre over five years is considered in a lot of jurisdictions as out of usable age and can be dangerous. Experience tells me they are.
@@quintonbartolotta Wrench: 1 a : a violent twisting or a pull with or as if with twisting b : a sharp twist or sudden jerk straining muscles or ligaments also : the resultant injury (as of a joint) c : a distorting or perverting alteration d : acute emotional distress : sudden violent mental change 2 : a hand or power tool for holding, twisting, or turning an object (such as a bolt or nut) I was referring to the last.
HELLL YEAH!!!!! 4000 psi and Steam... Turd has been polished!!!
Looks great. I was so glad you addressed the stack. It was ugly before. Looking forward to your trip. Great rescue.

Yeah, the electric actuated splitter was not a good design.

Looks like a solid truck. Looking forward to the 700 mi. Journey. Thanks
Oh man what a beautiful truck. Congrats 👌
I got a s1900 1987. 5 plus 2. Service truck. Never let's down. Best trucks ever
the crane is going to be black now lol. Those older IH service trucks with mechanical 466s you could just drive them and never have any trouble.

I have an ‘87 IH line truck that I am going to convert to service use. Even got a crane for it. It’s 4X4 too. Just subscribed!
Definitely a nice service Truck
Another Commieforina truck. At least the engine is still usable. 👌🏻
Yeah you know how their epa and dot love to detune everything to where it barely works.
Stupid California. Bunch of idiots running that place. Problem is they are leaving there and ruining other states too
That truck 🚒 is Beautiful.

Pro tip, Dont cut the lid so far down and it will go inside the rear end.
Reduced the weight by 500 lbs and increased the value about 3000 dollars.

Love the truck but I can honestly say I've never watched a RUclips video that was primarily a pressure washing video lol
I had a similar leak on a truck I serviced. The vent was plugged up. Replaced it and all was fine!

That's a really nice service truck, one of the better diesel motors.
Slack adjusters in spec?
International DT466 Good engine the two best engines at international had was the DT 466 and the DT444E basically which is the Ford 7.3
That’s a clean old truck I’m jealous what year is it mid 80s
your killing me what an awesome rig no emission issues in Alabama just saying lol
Great truck man jealous
Awesome buy! Should be great for your business.

That is a dt466 and that has roller lifters which is a good thing Reilly reliable engine should get 10k hours or more out of it
Darn that thing is going to get good gas mileage but you washed away the kryptonite coating good luck with that
Gotta love my home state. As of Jan 1st 2023, diesel heavy duty trucks older than 2010 are illegal. Crazy shit, eh??
It’s happening everywhere im afraid
Ten million dollar question how well does the heat work?😂

120psi is going to be North America and Canada pressures, what does it weigh? around 26000ibs I would go110 psi all around, maybe 115psi in the front.
Turn up the star wheel in the injection pump.
its a DT 466
What is suppose to be on that deck space on the passenger side at the front??
Owning anything with a diesel engine in California is rapidly becoming capital offenses
Will you be adding a compressor running off the PTO for running air tools etc?
It has a hydraulic compressor already
