  • So after using my lovely Lavazza A Modo Mio for months, I caught up with the rising cost of eco tabs, and factored in the sheer amount of coffee I'm drinking and did some quick maths - I realised I could be in for £700 to £800 in eco pods over 12 months - really too much.
So what to do - I've long wanted a decent expresso machine, and this really presented the ideal excuse to make a purchase - the realisation came when I saw a DeLonghi Dedica in the flesh and had a cup of coffee from it, and then checked out the dimensions in comparison with the Lavazza - the fact that you can pick it up from Amazon for around £180, with the option of using Klarna meant that from the first month, even when paying off the Klarna, I was paying a little less than the cost of the Lavazza Eco Pods.
I should say that I'm still very fond of the Lavazza machine - I like the coffee, and the simplicity of the process, and truly it's a tiny and stylish machine, which I still think makes a lot of sense if you're not turning out 8+ cups a day.
Please do let me know what you think of this dilemma, and about any other tiny options I might have missed.
And, if you want to buy any of the products in the video I've slotted in some links below - I should tell you that I'm an Amazon Affiliate, so if you make a purchase using one of these links I'll be very grateful, and may even receive a tiny slice of commission, at no cost to you whatsoever.

I think you are supposed to run two full tanks of water through the system before use.

I think I ran one tank through - two tanks is probably a better idea..
