Thanks for using my Analog pick. The boom that it made, even though it wasn't too loud, you could feel it heavier than a fireworks report... strangely weird but amazing at the same time... :)
Ant Pruitt They never said “no”. A cop on our local news just said to keep them at a distance. I was between 1-/4-1/2 mile from it, and at about 300 feet
Well the library /den makes a great backdrop. The colors are So good. I don't know what happened to the old studio but I hope you find an awesome need place. Great work!
Very good job on the lighting and sound. I'm not an expert but I really liked it. New set feels right. Personally I hate moving to a different places. But I wish you guys the best in this transition to a new studio.
I've pre-ordered the Rode Wireless Go as it's maybe 80% as good as a professional wireless system, but a whole lot portable and cheaper. Just note that you need a TRS-TRRS adapter if you want to record directly into a phone like the Pixel 3a. Hope you come back with a short update after your trip to Disneyland. Have fun!
What? No more shuttle launches? Oh great! Next they'll be saying HD DVD format won't beat out Blue-Ray. Sorry Shannon, couldn't resist a little teasing. I love your hosting of this show; much better than Veronica.
In the Rode Mic review, no professional would use the built in mic on that. Also most lav mics use a 3.5mm connections so it makes sense why that would have a 3.5mm for the mic. Adapters could connect it to a xlr connection on the camera. All in all the Rode looks interesting a good value if the quality is as advertised. Should keep sennheiser on their toes.
Great video. I have an H4N Pro and am looking for Lav Mics to use. While you mention the Rode may not be as good as the lavs you have with an H4N, would you mind telling us which lav mics you were using in the video? Thanks!
Question: Can you mount a cell phone on your dashboard and use it BOTH as a dashboard camera and a GPS? How does the quality of a cell phone video compare to a dedicated Dash Cam?
No brick is part of it, but a smaller space let me set the lighting to 5000-5200K, aka Roger Chang's preferred lighting temp, which is considerably less warm (red/orange). Might add a tiny bit of warmth, but need some time to play with the lights. - Patrick

Thanks again for sharing it. That was reaaaaaaaaly cool!!! - Patrick
Bro that was AWESOME 🤜🏽. I'm surprised you had clearance to fly.

Lets start a new game called "Will it Linux?"

Agree with others. Love the set. Cheers! :-)

Excellent image quality on this episode...new lighting and...green screen...or new set? Looks good.
My living room, actually. Same lights, but set to different temperature, closer to 5200K. Not nearly as red. - Patrick

Is this a new set or temp one? I'm liking it
Probably a transitional one... Hak5 is relocating their offices, so we needed a new place to shoot TekThing. Glad you liked it! - Patrick
I like it as well. It feels warm and cozy.
Hey Tekthing why not make the new Studio Patrick's house. The lighting is better and the setting is more relaxed
@@Tekthing What? Didn't you guys JUST move into that building with them recently?

Hey Patrick, what headset are you using in the VR segment? Thanks for all you guys do!

I love Zoom's H4n! Both Shannon and I have a pair of Audio-Technica AT-899 lav mics. I found mine for almost half list price on eBay. - Patrick

I feel like something is different... oh, you changed the lighting setup
And the location!
Would this work on that? Cable Matters (1/8 Inch) 3.5mm to XLR Cable (XLR to 3.5mm Cable) Male to Male
Yey! You weren't orange, surrounded by orange this time...

Are we no longer using the Hak5 studio?
I was wondering that
Shanon are you no longer with hak5?
Yeah what is going on with hak5 now, the whole format of all shows has changed
call that notch, a top-notch lol
I will never buy VR it makes me seasick.
That's the worst feeling, sorry it impacts you that way!
Muchbetter backdrop...whether it is real or greenscreen.
Morning.
Morning!

Video and audio much better than studio. Stay this way.
All variants of google phones are worthless.
