    ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
    00:38 AMD Radeon VII:
"What do you think of AMD's Radeon VII?" It’s a huge jump for AMD, and, well, we talk pricing vs. Nvidia’s 2070 and 2080 in the video, along with the Radeon VII’s gaming and work performance. Check the benchmarks at PCPer and TechGage… hint: if you live in Blender, you want this GPU. Meanwhile, new Nvidia GPU rumors are flying!

    07:38 Google Password Checkup
Worried about the security of your passwords? Google’s new Password Checkup, that compares your usernames and passwords to “over 4 billion credentials that” Google knows “have been compromised.” It’s built into a Chrome Extension, and checks as you log into sites. Does it work? Will Google store your passwords? Can you trust Google? Watch the video to find out!

    15:47 Nvidia Now Supports FreeSync
Marino vucko posted on RUclips, “For those who have Nvidia GPU 10** and 20** series, with newest drivers you can use FreeSync monitor as G-Sync. I have tested it yesterday with Asus Strix 1070 and it works perfectly!” Thanks, Marino! More deets in the video, and check out the Megalist of compatible monitors from Reddit, and PCWorld’s instructions on how to manually turn on Adaptive Sync!

    19:37 Leaving Facebook
David’s “decided to give up on Facebook and instagram. I'm currently using Twitter but I really would like to find something where I can post semi-securely so that only people I want to see the posts and others can't without signing up,” and wants “a social media alternative that isn't selling everything to the highest bidder.” Shannon’s got some thoughts in the video, and talks about Mastodon. 26:10 We found all the Composite Inputs!!!
Last week Thomas emailed looking for a good gaming TV... Rowan emailed that his “Sony Bravia Android TV(Not Cheap) XBR-55X850D for the 4 HDMI connectors(all on the back). BUT WAIT it Also has COMPONENT and COMPOSITE CONNECTORS BUILT IN.” And then we found composite inputs on LG, TCL, Vizio TVs, too!
    28:29 No, 5Ge Is Not 5G…
Stephen sent a picture of the “5Ge” logo on his iPhone XS and writes, “I didn’t know it had a 5G modem?! Is AT&T 5G spoofing again?” ATT doesn’t think so, and they do have a small 5G rollout. Sprint is so angry over it they’re suing ATT!

I love your coverage. You're the only tech channel I'm subscribed too. You guys strike a great balance between being enthusiastic about new tech & maintaining cautious awareness in it's implementation. Keep up the great work.

As a wordpress user, concerning an alternative to Facebook . You can very easy set up private pages, such as those with pictures and then send a link to your friend or mum and dad whoever. Its weather they give out that link to all their friends on Facebook and then your screwed, unless you make them log in to gain access.

The problem with the Facebook alternatives is you not only need to get all of your Friends and Family to join, you need all of their Friends and Family, all of their F & F, and so on and so on. You need to go dozens of layers deep as the overwhelming majority of them don't want to deal with monitoring multiple platforms.

Radeon 7 is a good niche for professionals, Linux users and 4k gamers. Or if you just want to support the little guy.

I am really curious if the Radeon VII will beat out the RTX 2080 in VR performance. I have a Rift and a 1060, which is barely passable, but I plan to buy a 2080 in 2 weeks, but now wonder if the Radeon would be a better option.

Id say take the radeon, dlss and rtx have potential, but are immature on the 2000 series at best, by the time these features will get used, the 2080s hardware wont be up to scratch. The 16gb of vram on the 7 are going to last you for a long time tho, id say this card will be good for games even in 3-4 years thanks to that vram. Remember what happened to kepler, its performance goes down a cliff in modern titles thanks due to their lack of vram

indeed im one of those that change hardware every 5-10 years. when i change i go mid-range to high-end. Also i heard AMD are bringing update to offer Radeon VII something similar like DLSS or Ray Tracing but i cant confirm it tho

Hey Patrick. Remember that day in St. Louis that you and Leo signed autographs for that HUGE crowd. I was there. Must have been at least 15 years ago. Time flies when you're an aging geek like me.

Password checkup: is probably only sending the first few characters of the password HASH and username HASH. It is very similar to the haveibeenpwned API. There is no way to crack a hash with only the first 5 characters of a hash.

if you have a NVIDIA card and a monitor that goes only 60-75hz and you play games that can exceed the monitor refresh rate and want to use free-sync lock the a 60 hzh (frames) on a 120 and at 75 on 144hz this should make the adaptive(free-sync) do its job. I did this for friends and it seemed to work..... if it does I am glad i could help , if not my bad 8P

I am a little surprised anyone would trust a Google Chrome extension to read your username / password *then send it to Google* (or to anyone). I saw this extension when it was announced via the same article and...NOPE!

@@seanc.5310 You just said you agreed but then said you send your usernames and passwords to LastPass.

    • @seanc.5310
      @seanc.5310 5 лет назад

@@strra That's right. Lastpass is a proven secure and trusted platform and they have no access to the account for recovery or any other means. It is stored in a fully encrypted and hashed file that only I can access. I also use Ubikey for 2nd factor Auth. There really isn't any more secure method out there. Every password is 40 characters on random text
