The user manual is wrong about the syringe. Go back to your first arrangement but switch ends so the yellow piece is attached to the syringe. You then have a nice right angle and easy access to the ink inlets.
I would strongly suggest to make your videos before drinking rather than after. Or else have a friend hold the camera for you. I got my printer working, thanks.

There is a lot of ink coming out of the print head onto the paper towel, but still printing blank other than blue. Any ideas?

Do I not have to clean tubes/cartridges?
What size is the hose used
What’s the hold button ?
Can i leave the ink inside or do i remove them?
Left the cleaning solution in for an hour. Plugged it in and pages are totally blank

Start process with printer switched on. Then remove the power cable at back whilst on and thereafter the head will move.
