      Any suggestions if I tried at least a dozen times on each color that doesn't work & they're both still blank? It was printing fine last night (all colors) & then after a few sheets, magenta stopped working. So I bought more ink. Now I've been troubleshooting all day. Ugh!

      @@kevmicshi You can try shaking your printer from side to side several times and try again. This works most of the time, but not for everyone. As a last resort, try a Power Clean.

    It works! My black had lines through it and it took about 50 pages and another ink refill (I had just refilled it a few days ago) but it works now! Thank you for a simple solution and for providing the CYMB template (another video told me to google it and that was getting frustrating). I appreciate your calm, easy pace throughout the video. You're the best!

    I just recently started looking for a DIY video to help at cleaning my 2720 and after about two or three other folks I came across your video Roger and at first I wasn't sure as to what information would be shared...however, after taking the time to watch your video I see your have some some very sensible and cost saving measures to clean the print heads without taking the printer apart or replacing the storage filter before it time. I've been there and done that and I figured there has to be an easy way. Thank you so much for the pdf sheets. I tried them and it worked well. Update: I printed out the solid color file you shared (thanks so much). I was wondering how to flush the old ink. Well the black kept being really streaked and the other color had mild streaks. So went back and rewatched your video! Bingo, you noted to run the pages in slower, high quality setting. Once I did that, I got beautiful solid colors. That did it. Now I'm getting beautiful pages again. Thanks so much for this excellent video. I went from getting NOTHING on printed page to getting full beautiful color. I ran the head and nozzle cleaning tons of times before that and it didn't really do anything. After flushing it out with the solid colors and changing the quality of print, it now runs great. Again thanks.

I would much rather use up paper than run the risk of overloading my maintenance tank or do some of the other procedures suggested by the other videos. I also asked customer service how to prevent ink not showing up and they basically said "idk".. thank you for this video, super helpful. Once you get everything working properly, print some thing is full color at least once a week, even if it is only the nozzle check sheet. This should keep the head clear. If you should happen to fill the maintenance tank, it may not be replaceable. Depends on the model.

    For all of you that this didn't work or was taking too long: I opened mine (not hard, just 4 screws). I saw that the dampers in the head were all empty. Black was full (black was the only one working). I took the lines off the dampers and pulled with a syringe. After 2-3 syringe-fulls of air, the ink came. I then put the line back, and pulled on the bottom of the damper with the syringe until the ink was pulled into it. This made sure there was no air or clogs and that the ink was finally in the printer head. So far so good.
    This is a great video though and if my problem wasn't so dire it would have been the trick. Will use my printer more often ... haha.

    I spent a long time trying to get my printer working. Blue and yellow had stopped completely. I tried printing your sheets many times but with no effect. My tanks were about 3/4 full, but I decided to top them up in anticipation of a power clean. A last nozzle check then showed yellow working and blue missing only one line. I then printed your blue sheet and all is now working perfectly. I think the solution is that topping up the ink and giving the top-up bottle a light squeeze sorted out an air lock in the tubes.
    To summarize: If a colour is missing completely, try topping up the colour and giving the bottle a gentle squeeze before printing the colour sheets, as this may be the solution.

    Thank you so much. I have been researching Epson vs Sawgrass and it seemed that I would have to do sublimation every single day using the Epson to prevent nozzle clogs and all I would have to do with Sawgrass is the nozzle check. I wouldn't do sublimation every single day since I am only making items for gifts so I did not want to invest a lot of money into an actual sublimation printer (even though I would love to). This video has helped me so much. At least I know how to clean the nozzles if I ever needed to.

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  2 года назад

      The advantage of a Sawgrass is that it self-maintains. But, you DO pay for that! With the Epson, so long as you run at least a nozzle check once or twice a week, it should be fine. Just enough to keep the ink from drying on the head.

      Hey Roger, I tried your method as several nozzle checks did not have solid lines. Went through about 50 sheets of paper front and back with no magenta, yellow, and cyan fading with each print. And black fading with each print. Eventually I had to do a power clean which did get me every color but still awful lines in black. I am at a loss for the black. I honestly don’t know what to do. Any advice?! I have a 2720. We also tried a wet paper towel method, and nothing. I tried to do your method again, with just printing out the black- still a ton of horizontal lines. I also shook it back and forth- nothing.

      The Magenta seems to be a common denominator with a lot of people, for some reason. Try shaking your printer from side to side, but don't get wild or you will have a mess! Some inks can separate and cause a sediment that blocks the ink path. This may dislodge the "gremlin".

      You can try shaking your printer from side to side several times. Some inks can form sediment and clog the lines. Works for some, but not everyone.

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  2 года назад +2

      Ease up on the Power Clean or you will have a full maintenance tank that you may not be able to replace, depending on the model. You could have a clogged line on the black. Sometimes shaking the printer from side to side (don't get wild with this) several times can free up sediment or a clog. Works for most, but not everyone. Beyond that, it would require opening up the printer, disconnecting the line from the ink tank to damper, and check for clogs. Not impossible, but not simple, either.

    You’re video is great! All of my color tests sheets resulted in success with no lines, except for the Cyan. No color, no nothing. I’m running the test sheet for the cyan continually with nothing showing on pages. Running 45 pages at a time over and over. What are your recommendations please? A new printer is not in my budget.

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  2 года назад +1

      Sometimes sediment can form and block a line. You can try shaking your printer from side to de several times (don't get wild, though) and try again. This works "most" of the time, but not always. As a last resort, try a Power Clean.

    HI Roger! Lots of great information. I am still not able to get my Epson 2720 to print the cyan and magenta. The yellow is great but the black remains with lots of lines. My printer is only a year old and I haven't printed much with it. Unfortunately i didn't realize that i needed to print something out way more often. Am I doomed or is there more I can do to unclog the printer head? Thanks for any info. you may be able to share. Great video !

      If the color sheets do not produce results after many tries, a Power Clean may be necessary. Sometimes, gently shaking your printer from side to side may clear any sediment that may have formed in the tanks. Try this, then more sheets. Works for some, but not everyone.

    hi roger. thank you for the wonderful video and explanation of cleaning the nozzles on my ET-2720. my tanks are currently 3/4 full and I use my printer almost daily. every now and then a nozzle clogs and I run the "clean print heads" and eventually everything works fine again. this time - my yellow did not print at all. I tried to clean several times and still nothing. so, I downloaded your yellow sheet and have now tried to print that about a dozen times and still no yellow color is printing at all. I even tried cleaning and a nozzle check one more time. no progression. I appreciate your info about the maintenance tank - I never knew about that. I'm guessing there's not point in running a power clean now- because you said this method is basically the same, but the maintenance tank doesn't get filled up. so.... any suggestions on what I should try now?? thanks in advance for any help you might have... :0)

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  Год назад +2

      Try this: Disconnect printer cables. Picj it up and shake several times side to side, then try the yellow sheets again. This works most of the time if there is any sediment blocking the bottom of the tank.

    Very informative video. Thank you! I discovered yesterday that my cyan has completely stopped printing. A bit surprising as we print regularly. We're in the Phoenix area where it is HOT right now, and our A/C went out a few days ago. Temp in the house rose to almost 100 before we were able to get it fixed. I'm wondering if that high heat might have done something. Anyway, I've printed about 10 copies of the cyan PDF with no results yet (interspersed with about 4 head cleanings and nozzle checks). At what point would you suggest I dive in and try the power clean?

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  Год назад +1

      Try shaking the printer from side to side several times and try the cyan again. Could be something as simple as an air bubble or some sediment in the ink tank blocking the line.

    • @bradstoops8862
      @bradstoops8862 Год назад

      @rogersshop Will do. I actually filled the ink to 100% today, which had no effect, and then did a power clean, which also had no effect. Will try shaking and then if that fails, reach out to Epson. Thanks for the suggestion.

      @@rogersshop Thanks for suggesting the shaking option. I was literally going to head to Costco today to get the Epson ET-2850 (on sale right now) - with some reluctance giving my current frustration with my ET-2760. A couple hours after shaking my printer a bit, and literally right as I was heading out the door to Coscto, I tried one last cyan print sheet. Lo and behold, it worked! Seems to be totally back to normal. So for others out there, don't give up before trying the shake method and waiting a little while. Also, for whatever it is worth, I called Epson support and was connected immediately with a tech support specialist, who was not terribly helpful with further troubleshooting (my warranty ended 6 months ago). However, he did follow-up via email with info on local Epson service centers and discounts for new or refurbished printers. I'm thankful I don't need to go that route now that mine is working again thanks to Roger.

    • @rogersshop
      @rogersshop  Год назад

      Try shaking the printer from side to side several times and try again. Most of the time, it is not the head clogged, but a tank or line. I have also run into some that may take 25 or more sheets to finally get a good color sheet.
