Best walkthrough/review of this product I've come across so far, well done Steve! The only other things/features I would mention for anyone else watching who may be looking into buying the product: 1) there is a little nozzle close to the steam wand where you can dispense hot water straight into a cup (using the same knob used to generate the steam, there is the hot water option). This is great for anyone who likes to make coffee like an Americano where hot water is required, and I also use it to fill up and pre-warm a mug depending on the type of drink I'm making. 2) On this note, there is a cup warming tray on the top of the unit that uses the heat of the machine to keep glasses/cups warm as well! 3) And the other small thing that I like with this machine is the little "Empty Me" tab in the drip tray that will automatically pop up and make itself visible when it is getting close to full with water. This takes away any doubt about whether your drip tray is getting close to overflowing. Great video!
I just made my first coffee using this machine thanks to your instruction. American woman, Australian product, world class coffee. THANK YOU! I'm actually going to replace all my small appliances with Breville, as needed, from this point on.
I bought one of these very recently (thanks for the great review). In the end, I went for the red one, not just because I like red, but because the stainless steel one (at least when I tried it in the shop) was real fingerprint magnet, whereas the red one isn't. You have a lovely way to explaining things, so I really appreciate your videos.
Thank you again Anthony, I am glad you appreciate the Reviews.. Steve.. I loved the Red too, we haven't found the SS marks with fingers and I am always lugging it around, maybe it's all fingerprints and I can't tell.. ;o)
"I'll just put the booklet aside, I MIGHT read it later...". Yep, that's how I roll too! I love Breville appliances and this one looks amazing. Great unboxing!
I guess Im randomly asking but does anybody know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account? I was stupid lost the password. I appreciate any tips you can offer me
@Andres Sergio Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
You've probably already figured this out, but in this video the cover on your drip tray is on backwards. If you reverse it, there's a little sign that will float up when it's full.
LOL.. Well done, you're the first to comment, man it annoyed me on the Edit but then I thought, ah what the hell.. I suspect most people apart from us might not notice LOL..
I noticed it too when I watched the video a few weeks ago, but hesitating from mentioning it, because I was worried you would think I was being mean :)
Ahaha, I scrolled through the comments to see if anyone else had noticed this. The little float has saved our kitchen bench from coffee-spill disaster a few times.
While I was at my daughters home for a week, her room mate had this machine. I was a little bit spoilt, having other people make my coffee for the whole week. I was so impressed with this machine, that I have recently purchased it. This machine works well with all sorts of milks, from cows, almond, soy, coconut or lactose free, every time it made a perfect coffee.
For a machine that is not £1000 still has enough pressure to make expresso and makes micro foam for £500 you don't need to spend £1000 unless you want something to last for 10 years but having a decent machiney for £500 I bought a tasimo but got fed up of using pod milk I wanted to use real milk I bought a milk warmer Nd it does exactly what it says the milk is not hot enough to make my coffee enjoyable so I want my milk hot
Great demo! I like that you came back to it after about a week to share the experience. I bought this machine a couple of weeks ago and was very happy with how it looks, it's very impressive for a home product... However, I have had the hardest time "dialing-in" as every shot tasted sour. I adjusted the grind & the grind amount several times, throwing out more coffee than I care to admit. All the reviews I've read rave about the consistently AMAZING quality of every shot pulled. I was ready to box it and return it when I googled "sour espresso"... I learned that there is also temperature to consider. The Breville 870 is programmed to allow a control in temperature ±2˚C, in 1ºC increments from the default temperature, however there is no indication anywhere what the machine's default temperature setting is. I have read the comments and you advised that over-extracting also produces a sour coffee. Experts advise that a perfect shot is 60 mL, the one in your demo seems like it's half that. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
A good rule of thumb on espresso outputs is 1:2. You are going to need to double your input value, so if you use 18g of coffee, you are gonna want around 36g of espresso as the output. Fine tune to taste.
Been using this machine for 2 years, really great machine. Probably best for the price range, the grinder is basically a Breville smart grinder, it gets the job done.
Very good review. I have had the same machine for about a year now and still extremely happy with it! Makes a great coffee, but I also buy my beans the day they are roasted and use them within about 2 weeks, so always have the freshest! A quick tip for when you use the tampa. The pressure has to be even, so place 3 fingers around the tampa when on the grind and make sure that tampa is even!. An uneven pressure can create channels through the grind which doesn't give the best results. A bit techie, but useful I think!
My kitchen is full of Breville products and everyone of them are brilliant. I've just bought this machine in the Cranberry colour but haven't unboxed it yet. Will be soon enough.
Hi Steve, funny that you say the hopper is a tad small for your liking. I actually wish it was a bit smaller! Haha. The hopper makes my machine too tall by about 1/2” to fit on the counter beneath the overhead cabinets. Luckily I have a perfect spot for it right next to the sink. I’m the only one who drinks coffee in this house and refill my hopper maybe twice a week, no biggie. Also totally agree with you on the discussion about cost savings with this machine. I was spending $5.60 1-2x a day at Starbucks, so call it about $200-250 a month! This machine paid for itself in three months. I rarely drink Starbucks now and actually find it tastes subpar to what I can create at home. I also use the razor daily, I find it does keep the group head a bit cleaner. Love love love this machine.
I picked one of these up last year for around 650, been absolutely brilliant! Was making coffee for quite a few years on a professional machine and this is almost as good as having a professional machine at home.
Lovely video. Barista here by hobby and trade. I'd advise against locking the portafilter in until you're ready to extract because otherwise you will burn the coffee grounds in the basket! I've had a lot of use with this machine and I follow the same process of 'milk just before shots', but I leave it on the side ready to lock in after.
Several people have said this but it's just not the case for this machine, I can put my fingers on the Filter head whilst steaming and warming up, it remains cold, no chance of burning anything.
Hey, great video. May seem like a stupid question but why does it have the dial for amount of ground coffee but then also an option for single or double? Thanks
Great video! Just some suggestions on the negatives, which aren't bad with what you said - I do agree with them - just something for the audience to consider perhaps. (1) Small hopper. Yep. Unless I'm serving a family of 3+ every morning with 2 cups of the fav each, then I find it better to keep the beans in a more airtight container than the hopper... But that aside, yes, could've been a little bigger. Then again, think about how it would fit under cupboard arrangements. (2) I too was about to throw out the razor, but I'm glad I didn't. Not useless. I'm not a super pro, so the razor helps save some beans when I keep changing my rotation from local roasters. That thing has saved me many a bean. Sure, if you stay with the same roast - set it and forget it. But, especially since the grinder is part of the unit - it's maybe not as specific as an external pro grinder. (3) The pressurized baskets. Unfortunately, there are some times when you need to pull some decaf shots for folks. I know I know. Eek! But hey, some can't do the caffeine (or reduced caffeine). This helps if you don't want to switch out hoppers for the grinds. I have a side Bodum $20USD grinder for the decaf I keep for my folks. I watch and fine grind separately, then use the pressurized hopper for a double. Or just use preground, since most beans never are fully decaf. That way I can keep the rig set at my normal caffeine read settings. Again, all in all - great video. Thank you so much. Your video helped inspire and solidify my purchase a while back. And I have no regrets!
Isnt it a bad idea to store beans in airtight containers because then emit CO2? As I know best is a one way valve which allows air to go out but not in.
I bought this machine over a year ago and use premium coffee in it. IT works very well and pulls a good amount of crema. One this he did not mention is you can change the temperature of the shot slightly, I think a range of +-4 degrees celsius. Also, I have a marked espresso shot glass to ensure I am pulling a correct shot, the length of time for single and double shots is programmable. I would highly recommend this machine, I bought a refurbished one on amazon for half the cost along with a 5 year protection plan for an additional $20, can't go wrong with that. Note: the grinder on the machine works quite well but will occasionally have a little less grind than needed, so I always use the razor more as a double check then just add a little more grind if needed.
Great video, thumbs up! We've had our *Breville Barista Express* for a few years now and it's great! The two of us use it up to three times a day and have had no problems - except to change the water filter as often as we should. The pressurised filters are for pre-ground coffee. We had a friend bring pre-ground specialty coffee back from Bali and the pressurised filters worked great. Prior to the *Breville* we had an awful *Sunbeam* that required repairing three times over six years and didn't self-purge after steaming. It was an awful machine. I highly recommend the machine in the video.
Great video. I've had this exact model for the past six months. I love it. I'm slowly but surely getting better and better and making different types of coffees.
Love and appreciate your review Steve. Wondering do you select "espresso beans vs. coffee beans" and how do you know what the setting should be for your beans? How can I determine what is the appropriate setting what would I look for? How long should you leave the beans in the hopper?
I just bought the barista express today. I used the razor blade to change the filter baskets and it fits. There you go guys used the razor blade to save your nails! 😂
I actually like the smaller hopper because it has to fit under my counter cabinet and it does. If it was larger, I would not have been able to purchase it. Great instruction...thank you.
Looking at this machine myself, it is called the Sage in the UK, an expensive coffee machine with the Breville name on may not sell so well in the UK as Breville is normally the budget end of the market here. Anyway, as i said looking at this machine to replace my Gaggia classic, but the price is a bit high and i have second thoughts, but one day I will just go for it. My only problem with machines with built in grinders is if the grinder goes wrong or wear out, then it can be a costly repair job.
If you flip from steam straight to espresso, the boiler is way too hot. Gotta either pull the shot and then go to steam or if you steam first, let it cool back down or do a cooling flush. Also having the hopper rammed full means you are always using stale beans.
Great review, got the same machine and same results. Just one thing, make sure you put the drip tray around the other way, so the warning that the tray needs to be emptied can work and be seen. I find it great for two coffees but would buy the twin boiler version if I had to make more than two cups regularly. Great job Breville.
We just purchased one for Christmas and we have no problem with the size of the bean hopper the only way I see the size if you were making 20 cups a day. One thing that is very important to do is run steam through the wand when cleaning it if you don’t you could end up ruining your machine. Otherwise great video I just find it hard to believe you missed this very important part of keeping your machine clean.
I like to be honest with every viewer Rick but It's hard for me to believe you, when your advice doesn't make sense, if you had the same model, you would know why? and to make a judgment on the Hopper size after having it a couple of weeks also does not make sense to me. I do appreciate your comment but my honest review has not changed one bit.
Excellent review! Just a small tip....the metal grate is on backwards. The 3 round holes should be to the right. At first I thought you had a different model. lol
quick tip on getting the baskets out of the filter: use the back of a teaspoon! wiggle it in between and just twist it up, repeat in a few different spots and the basket pops right out. im definitely considering buying this tho, my summer job as a barista has ruined me for regular filter coffee.
Bought this machine yesterday, early christmas present, I have made 2 coffees so far one was great with the puck being like a biscuit and the next one the puck was really wet, How do I get the same result every time with a good dry puck, how do you know the correct settings, I saw your machine was set on 8 I will try that, and the dial was on about 2.0 o'clock, great video easy to understand, have a great day.
I received one as a xmas present from my family. We all love coffees and cappuccinos in my case. Your review is perfect, I had the same struggle taking it out of the box and trying to take out the filter from the handle (they should change that-my nails would appreciate it) But other than that very pleased with the machine and the incorporated grinder is a great feature. Still learning and watching yours and others vids definitely help, thank you!
Hello Steve Your Breville Coffee Machine review was great. I have a doubt what is the material of water storage tank.. For example Plastic , Glass or any other... Is water is boiling in the behind tank.. Your reply will be much appreciated
Hi Steve, I’ve got one at home that I absolutely love. Even though it is my second machine as my first one blow up as my flat mate neglected to fill the water up and it actually did a lot of damage to the internal boiler. My question to you is. The dialler st the front, what setting to do have it at prior to grinding and brewing please. That’s the only bug bear that I have with this machine, thank you
They are super Cheap if you buy these amzn.to/2UqXYcu and then you can wash through without worry, I am assured they are exactly the same and so far they seem to be.. Good luck.
This is the first time I've seen a pressurized and non-pressurized filter supplied. Why would one wish to choose either one? Also, skim milk froths better, and it froths better yet if you put the milk in the freezer to get it super cold. Try it.
Hi Steve, thank you for the review. I just got mine and was wondering what brand coffee you would recommend ? I usually drink smooth, not too strong coffees. I do like Starbuck's cappucino's too. thnx!
Hello Steve good review. Hope you can help me on an issue I have. I was offred a BES870 or CE837A last month. After a normal use of 2 to 3 expresso cups, I was suprised with the ridiculous amont of water in the tray below, Is this to be excpected? and as a result the amont of water needed and spend for having those expressos. Is this normal or might it be a problem? An other question : Is it possible to change the brew temperature? Thank you in advanced.
in reguards to the filters used, the packet says to use the pressurised ones for when we are grounding the coffee, or the non pressurised for pre ground coffee, would you say it doesnt really matter which ones we use?
Hi there, I hope you can help me. I turn my Barista Express on and the "grind amount" and "filter size" dial´s lights start flashing. Do you have any dea of what does it mean? Thank you!
Lovely video! I'm convinced and plan to purchase one soon! Quick question: I've read somewhere that it's not smart to buy an espresso machine that comes with a grinder since the whole machine won't work if the grinder breaks down. Have you had any experience with any malfunctions? I'm sure it should last quite a while if properly maintained.
i have the same miachine, it often gives me very long extraction and tons of water, 250mL of expresso, it looks like it's amining a two-minute extraction. I've tried many grind amount and size, wasted lots of beans, no prefect result yet. How exactly do I find the best settings?
Thank you sir so much for making this video my dream is to have my very own cafe in the future and I will keep watching this video till I open my own cafe...again thank you so much
Great review Steve I enjoyed, have you use the model Breville the Oracle? I will love to see your impressions and how you tweak the adjustments as it got several ones for tamp, grind, foam etc..love your review!
Great review! Just checking in on how you guys are still enjoying this machine? I'm interested in my first home espresso machine and this particular model seems the best fit for our home. Thank you in advance!
I think this is a great machine for the price if you're not interested in learning technique and not picky with the taste of your espresso. But if you're an hobbyist who wants to experiment with grind settings and brew ratios, there are better long term setups for not much more compared to the price of this such a Gaggia Classic with a Sette or Eureka grinder. It's going to be more expensive but for the long run, it's going to be the better investment which gives you more features and control. Overall this machine won't give you the longest shelf life if you want to learn and grow. But it's great for the average person who wants cafe quality drinks without the fuss every morning.
Thanks, I should point out that you can Experiment with the Grind settings and the Brew Ratios on this Machine, I not sure the Gaggia can offer anything more? Your thoughts?
Had the Breville grinder two years guarantee the one you go onto a coffee forum web site areas and weep it can't be fixed, I sent it back spent lost more on a commercial coffee shop grinder
Good show, Steve. I'm not really a coffee connoisseur so I can't appreciate all of the nuance in your unboxing. But you've inspired me. Maybe I'll try some of the stuff I've never tried before the next time I'm in my local Starbucks. (I also remember your egg coffee from prior episodes that looked kind of interesting.)
Thanks for that constructive thought Milan. Coffee has always played a big part of my days, silly really and not always a healthy thing but of the years I have gone from Several Cups a Day to just 2 max but I find I like quality over quantity. Thank you my friend Steve
Great video. I just got one but the one without the built in grinder. I’ve seen s few places where it says the extraction should last 20-25 seconds. I seem to only get an extraction lasting about 10 seconds. Am I barking up the wrong tree ?
CJ Mac what kind of grinder are you using? The grind has a lot to do with how your shots will pull. Next is tamp pressure most say 30lbs but as long as it’s a consistent amount of pressure you will be fine. Make sure you are tamping level and if you have a valley or crevice in your puck after extraction then that can cause a shot to pull fast.
Not for professional use! These are wonderful machines but now 3 of 3 machines I own are broken (I fixed them several times myself, using parts of one broken machine to fix the others) and here in Mexico nobody seems to be able to fix them (not talking about getting parts ...). At this time I use two of them as grinder only ...
can i push the 1 cup button for 2 cups filter? because i want to get the yield ratio 1:2 for example 18 grams coffee for 32-35 grams yield within 25-32 seconds. normally if i push 2 cups button for 2 cups filter, the yield would be approx 60 grams. the ratio would be 1:3
I loved this video i'm thinking about buying this machine but I don't understand is what is a single shot & a double shot can u explain this for me please
Thoroughly enjoyed this unboxing vid. Question: would not the water been too hot to immediately pull a shot after steaming, given there is only one boiler?
That's a very Good Question. I suspect, although I don't know?, that when they say one "Boiler" it means pressurised container. This would deliver water to the wand over a heated coil to deliver steam but not effect the water directed to the group. It would make sense, it's unlikely there is time to make up a full tank of water under steam pressure in such a short time..
It has a purge device. After you have the water at steaming temp you will hear it blow out water and steam to bring it to the lower and correct temp for making the espresso
They are all pretty awful.. And why pay more for coffee. Both Coles and Safeways sell Lavazza half price almost every other week. Just stock up when they are on sale, Invest in at least 3 or 4 Kilo Bags and sorted, you're paying less than home brand for much better coffee..
Hi, first of all thanks for the great video! If you still have the box do you mind measuring the dimensions of the actual box the coffee machine came in please?
I don't understand the need for whole milk. He failed at a latte art with whole milk and yet I've seen people perform latte art with fat free. Also, some of us drink 2 to 3 lattes a day, so we would like to live beyond 50. I suppose this is why the leading cause of death in the US is heart disease
Thanks Steve, lovely video. Just wonder if you have ever used a gastroback for a roughly same budget, let's say a 42612? And if you think breville is a better choice?
Good video I want to buy one of these machines,I'm a bit over instant coffee.Never had a coffee machine before it will be like a new toy. I live in Melbourne Australia they aren't cheap
Once you try real. Coffee you can't go back I don't care if science makes synthetic coffee that tastes like it came from a bean I want proper bean coffee
I bought the machine this morning through Ebay, from The Good Guys. There's a promotion with a 20% discount at the moment. It came down to around $540.

Anthony Lauder @ hi bro what’s the price of it???
"I'll just put the booklet aside, I MIGHT read it later...". Yep, that's how I roll too! I love Breville appliances and this one looks amazing. Great unboxing!
Lisa Boban - Making coffee 'That's how I roll'... lol
Thank Lisa, you know I never did look at that booklet, am I bad... ? I do hope so..😉
I guess Im randomly asking but does anybody know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account?

One this he did not mention is you can change the temperature of the shot slightly, I think a range of +-4 degrees celsius. Also, I have a marked espresso shot glass to ensure I am pulling a correct shot, the length of time for single and double shots is programmable. I would highly recommend this machine, I bought a refurbished one on amazon for half the cost along with a 5 year protection plan for an additional $20, can't go wrong with that. Note: the grinder on the machine works quite well but will occasionally have a little less grind than needed, so I always use the razor more as a double check then just add a little more grind if needed.
Thanks for sharing your experience Adam.
Thanks for the video Mister, well explained,
my Breville came in yesterday, unboxed it and We’re already loving it! Best regards!
Nice, well hope you have many a great Coffee. Steve
Steve's Kitchen Thanks!!
moyserr how much does it costs?
You should put fresh coffe every day in the Hopper for the best quality
@Indy Behr hey Indy!
How is the machine?
I'm thinking of buying it. how long did it work for you?
Is the model number of this machine BES870? I think compared to older models Breville have perfected it over the years. Aussie Aussie Aussie.
Saving up... Paying cash... Buying this in a few months!!!... This thing is FABULOUS!!!
Well merry Christmas to you..
Been saving up. Paying cash. Getting the UK version this Tuesday. Cannot wait 😁
You did a good espresso. I have the same machine-it’s a really good machine!!!
(you put the drain grill on the wrong side)
Thanks, yeah I noticed in the edit but I didn't have time to film it again, it happens LOL
Excellent review! Just a small tip....the metal grate is on backwards. The 3 round holes should be to the right. At first I thought you had a different model. lol
LOL, your observation is right on:-)
Just ordered one today and am very excited! Thank you Steve for the review and the unboxing!!
Have fun!
quick tip on getting the baskets out of the filter: use the back of a teaspoon! wiggle it in between and just twist it up, repeat in a few different spots and the basket pops right out.
im definitely considering buying this tho, my summer job as a barista has ruined me for regular filter coffee.
Thanks.
Hi Lisa, each coffee grain/brand will differ a little so it's a case of experimenting.. try 8 for sure
Thank you. Happy new year.
I struggled with taking out the filter from the handle as well. Then I started using the razor as a perfect tool for the task.
tilt the jug when you are steaming the milk, swirl will build a thick milk instead of just a bit of foam
If you read this, have a great day and be AWESOME!
If you read this Reply, you are Awesome and tell someone they are Awesome too.. 👍🏼
Thank you for the easy to follow video. Would easily be the easiest to follow.
I think your voice was awesome for explaining.
Thank you.
Hello Steve
Your Breville Coffee Machine review was great.
I have a doubt what is the material of water storage tank..
For example Plastic , Glass or any other...
Is water is boiling in the behind tank..
Your reply will be much appreciated
I have been using the breville cafe Venizia for a couple of years and running perfectly.... but i seriously need to upgrade!
I don't know that model well, sorry
*Venezia* , as Italian for Venice in Italy.
That’s the only bug bear that I have with this machine, thank you
Jason.. Does that question make sense to you? I can't quite get it? Is it the amount dial?
How often do you pill the machine for cleaning.. The cleaning tablets are quite expensive!!!
I have know Idea what they are sorry.
in reguards to the filters used, the packet says to use the pressurised ones for when we are grounding the coffee, or the non pressurised for pre ground coffee, would you say it doesnt really matter which ones we use?
You should use the one that you feel comfortable with. Pressurized is more fool proof but I prefer the other.
That packet statement makes no sense.
Hi there, I hope you can help me. I turn my Barista Express on and the "grind amount" and "filter size" dial´s lights start flashing. Do you have any dea of what does it mean? Thank you!
Thanks for your review! I found it very thorough and informative! I will go for this machine 👌🏻
I love everything Breville does.
I just unboxed mine today and started experimenting! How is it going a year on? Thank you!
Great review... Just received one as a gift so this was really helpful. Thank you
Enjoy.. 👍
Thanks so much for this video. A real unboxing and great view of the machine. Cheers!
You're welcome Walter..
Great instructional video. Bought this machine last night and learn so much better from these videos than the instructions in the box
Cheers Catherine, you're probably a visual learner like me..
Thank you sir so much for making this video my dream is to have my very own cafe in the future and I will keep watching this video till I open my own cafe...again thank you so much
If it's a Cafe, that's fine, if it's a coffee shop, buy something more professional..
First video I've seen of yours! Great editing and you have a good feel on camera!
Well, Thanks you :o)
Fantastic presentation Steve. Very clear and simple to understand. Thank you for your time. Kind regards....
Thank you Carolyn.
Watching this in 2019 - thank you! Very helpful review!!
Great review Steve I enjoyed, have you use the model Breville the Oracle? I will love to see your impressions and how you tweak the adjustments as it got several ones for tamp, grind, foam etc..love your review!
Please tell me what are the burr and grinder settings of your coffee maker. Thanks
Great review! Just checking in on how you guys are still enjoying this machine? I'm interested in my first home espresso machine and this particular model seems the best fit for our home. Thank you in advance!
Excellent video! "namby pamby rubbish" made me lol. And I agree: whole milk all the way!
Yes! Thank you! ;o)
Thank you very much. You sir have explained what I really needed.
Welcome..
how regularly do you need to service the machine aside from changing the filter in the water tank? (ie: change internal filter stuff if there's any?)
I love my Barista Express. I have never used the pressurized baskets.
Me Either.
Thank you my friend
Steve
How good is the grinder? Does it adjust in small enough steps? Also does it go fine enough for espresso?
Yes and Yes. It's what it's for.
Can you make regular coffee? Have this machine and it seems like it only makes espresso.
Black Orchid Coffee has a great blended Vietnamese coffee also.
Great video. I just got one but the one without the built in grinder. I’ve seen s few places where it says the extraction should last 20-25 seconds. I seem to only get an extraction lasting about 10 seconds. Am I barking up the wrong tree ?
I can't really say, I don't know all the ins and outs of each machine, if it tastes good, it probably is :)
Steve's Kitchen thanks
CJ Mac what kind of grinder are you using? The grind has a lot to do with how your shots will pull. Next is tamp pressure most say 30lbs but as long as it’s a consistent amount of pressure you will be fine. Make sure you are tamping level and if you have a valley or crevice in your puck after extraction then that can cause a shot to pull fast.
I recommend checking out the real Chris baca, dude is a coffee master and he has great videos on how to make great coffee.
ruclips.net/video/moffc41OzOA/видео.html
I love the coffee with 1cup of milk. .. absolutely it was a great taste ....
Wow bad show.. I have a friend in San Miguel De Allende that fixes Coffee Machine but often it's parts :o)
Would this machine be technically fast and good enough to use in small coffee shop.? ie: serving between 15 -80 cofees a day.
No.
Can I use this in a small coffee shop? Maybe serving up to 50 cups a day?
No
Got the same one. Nothing comes close to it. Great value for money for the coffee drinker
Great review -- thank you. But you missed something important:- does it make the coffee HOT?
what is the maximum amount of bars during the extraction???? What about of the loudness of working of this machine?
can i push the 1 cup button for 2 cups filter? because i want to get the yield ratio 1:2
for example 18 grams coffee for 32-35 grams yield within 25-32 seconds.
normally if i push 2 cups button for 2 cups filter, the yield would be approx 60 grams. the ratio would be 1:3
Yes you can 👍
I loved this video
i'm thinking about buying this machine
but I don't understand is what is a single shot & a double shot
can u explain this for me please
If you don't know the difference, you really shouldn't be buying a Machine like this, sorry.
Hi Steve. What aussie coles or Safeway coffee bean they sell would you recommend. Btw. I Love the eclairs. Made some from your video. Perfect 👍
They are all pretty awful.. And why pay more for coffee. Both Coles and Safeways sell Lavazza half price almost every other week. Just stock up when they are on sale, Invest in at least 3 or 4 Kilo Bags and sorted, you're paying less than home brand for much better coffee..
@@Steve-Owens How’s The Baristas fair so far in your travels. Any standout.
I’ve tried various settings and coffee and the pressure gauge doesn’t move at all when I use it. Extremely disappointed and ready to return. :(.
I just like my single special favorite combination Lamarzocco gs3 or Slayer single + Ditting peak grinder + Pullman kits tamper and so on
Hi, first of all thanks for the great video! If you still have the box do you mind measuring the dimensions of the actual box the coffee machine came in please?
I agree, whole milk. Nice review, this is the device I was considering getting. It looks good.
Thank you Richard.. 😉
I don't understand the need for whole milk. He failed at a latte art with whole milk and yet I've seen people perform latte art with fat free. Also, some of us drink 2 to 3 lattes a day, so we would like to live beyond 50. I suppose this is why the leading cause of death in the US is heart disease
Ever think the reason the bean hopper is small is so it fits nicely on a counter under a wall cabinet?
Never once
@@Steve-Owens I have this unit. With the current hopper, it barely fits under my wall cabinet. 😎☕️
@tomc3010 You must have low cabinets, mine fits with heaps of room.. ??
@@Steve-Owens 18" between counter and bottom of wall cabinet has been the standard in the US for 50 years. Breville probably considered that.
@@tomc3010 Interesting, I changed mine to the bigger hopper and it still fits fine..
Well done!
This has been an amazing unboxing experience. Thank you!
Welcome..
You shouldnt leave ur portofilter plugged into the grouphead before extracting. It will burn the coffee.
Thank you dear 🥰😍😘
youre supposed to pull the shot when you stick the porta filter in so the flavor doesnt go away and youre not steaming the milk correctly..
Glad to see you're 100% wrong..
How easy is it to clean the machine?
Thanks Steve, lovely video. Just wonder if you have ever used a gastroback for a roughly same budget, let's say a 42612? And if you think breville is a better choice?
I can't say Fatima, I have not heard of that brand, I'm sorry.
From my brief search it seems Breville own Gastroback, so they are possibly a similar product..
Do you recommend to use this coffee machine for a small coffeshop as the main workforce?
Nope.
@@Steve-Owens for what reason?
It's a domestic Machine, Never expect a Domestic machine to do commercial use, they are not designed for that purpose.
Does this model have the auto purge on the steam wand?
Is this model the same as the Sage Barista Express bes875uk?
Good video I want to buy one of these machines,I'm a bit over instant coffee.Never had a coffee machine before it will be like a new toy. I live in Melbourne Australia they aren't cheap
I live in Melbourne too Mark, they are not cheap but we have some good sales now and then, good luck
It's a new machine, have fun with it... enjoy the coffee.
Thanks, it's a year old now and still going strong..
