Great review. I've got the note 3 and the g flex. I've ended up using the flex more than the note 3, despite the note's sharper resolution, because: 1) It's easier to turn on/off the flex- double tap or my finger rests automatically on the on/off button. The note 3 I have to shuffle. (Also meant I get longer usage out of the flex). 2) Entering a pin code is easier on the flex - the note doesn't support mini pin pads (only mini patterns and we have to use pins with corporate sim cards). 3) Navigation is easier on the flex - especially one handed. Unlike the note 3 I can reach the menu/back/home/notification pull down buttons (they can be condensed and be on the left or right of the screen) 4) Holding the flex is more comfortable than the note 3- I have to shuffle more with the note 3! The curve makes it more comfortable in the hand and also I can curl my little finger under the flex if I want to- the note is just that bit too narrow do do that comfortably, and the note now feels too flat! 5) The bigger screen (you can hide those soft navigation keys) They're both good device. I've still got the note 3 - however, it's now gathering dust as the flex is more comfortable for me to use, a bigger screen and for my usages, more powerful.
For all the people deciding between which of these to get I can help. I previously owned the LG G Flex and had no complaints for a while and the 720p screen isn't that noticeable. However, after owning the phone for about 4 months I noticed the antenna strength was slowly decreasing. Then after about 6 or 7 months I would rarely get LTE service and sometimes I wouldn't even get 4G. I could tell it was the phone because my peers that owned a different kind of phone had great service in the same area. I didn't think much of it but then it started to affect the phones efficiency such as apps that require data don't load or texts/calls don't go through and the only way to fix it is to restart the phone which is a pain. I think LG made a quick release not bothering to check if the curve of the phone would affect signal strength and/or block antenna. If you're still reading this I'm impressed but if you're deciding between these two phones I would go with the Note 3 or if possible wait for a new samsung to come out. thank you.
I started using the LG G flex and so far this has been one of the best phone I have ever used. It still is taking some time to get use to the big screen but I love everything about this phone. Watching video is amazing and the multitasking is a pleasant add on. But the biggest plus had been the battery. Every phone I have had in the past the battery never lasted but this phone is amazing last for ever. I would recommend this phone to everyone.
It is easy Mr. FISHER this time as well. Same guy takes the crown. I know you love LG G Flex but it does not stand a chance against Note 3. I know you like the curved screen and that's pretty much about that device.
I do hope you're joking. The Note 3 and the G Flex have many similar aspects, only a few set them apart. Note 3 - Snapdragon 800, 13 Megapixel Camera, 3 GB RAM, 3,200 mAh battery, 1080p 5.7" display G Flex - Snapdragon 800, 13 Megapixel Camera, 2 GB RAM, 3,500 mAh battery, 720p 6" display If you want a larger screen then the G Flex is better, however if you want a higher quality screen the Note 3 is better. If you want a bigger battery and better battery life because of the slightly lower display, then the G Flex is better (although they both have awesome battery lives.) If you want more RAM then the Note 3 is better. If you want an immersive video experience and don't really care about HD vs Full HD, then the G Flex is better. There is never a winner when it comes to phones unless one phone dominates in each and every part.
Since when 1080p and 720 is similar? Since when 2 GB ram and 3 GB ram is similar? Camera is not good on flex. 6" is not same as Note 3. No S Pen on flex is not "similar". No proper multi-window implementation to take advantage of big screen is not similar. 6" 720p screen is too big to notice the pixels and jaggy edges and the ridiculous look of the phone when it is laying flat on table. If this is you basis of saying similar specs then every other phone is also similar to the other phone.
1080p and 720p are honestly not a big difference unless you hold them next to eachother. Oled like on the Note 2 compared to LCD with 1080p, you don't notice a humongous difference, and you get a battery boost which I'd take any day. I didn't say 2gb and 3gb of RAM are similar, I was saying that 3GB isn't really that necessary on current phones. Also 6" is really close to 5.7"...
They are not big difference on 5 inch device but on 6 inch device there is a clear difference. 6" is not really close to 5.65 or 5.7 inch. So clearly the specs are not similar other than that they both have snapdragon processor. This is where similarity ends.
Saw the Flex in the store awhile back and was impressed. Michael Fisher's review of the Flex (and this video) convinced me to purchase the Flex. I get mine Monday. Dat battery life!
I tried both the note 3 and LG g flex, the flex screen looks so beautiful. Display is so bright even when it set at 0%... I own the lg g flex and love it. I am so used to curved screen on the flex now Now flat display looks weird ...
I just want to say, that was the most unbiased and down to earth comparison I have seen on youtube. Great job, made me even more excited for my Note 3!
Im a samsung fanboy and was going to get the Note 3, but when I went to the store and saw the Flex I had to go home and research. I finally decided on the Flex. The one thing that the Note 3 has on the Flex that I care about is the screen resolution. However when I thought about, I realized it really is not a big deal. The Flex has the same resolution as the Note 2, which was my previous phone, and I never had a complaint about that resolution. Honestly if you can notice the difference between them without a side by side comparison then good on you because I cant. What I do guarantee is that you notice the screen size more than the resolution. My only uses for a phone are calls, texts, web browsing, and videos. So for me, the main differences between phones that I care about are processing speed and screens. And for me the bigger screen is better trade off than better resolution that I cant even notice.
I HAD THE NOTE 3 FOR COUPLE OF DAYS UNTIL MY ME AND MY WIFE WENT IN THE T MOBILE STORE IN GASTONIA, NORTH CAROLINA ON FRANKLIN BLVD BECAUSE I GAVE HER MY NOTE 2 TO HER SO WHEN ME AND HER WENT IN THE STORE I WAS WALKING AROUND I SAW THEY HAD A NEW PHONE AND IT WAS THE LG G FLEX I FEEL IN LOVE WITH IT THAT DAY SO I ASK THE WOMAN WHO WAS GETTING MY WIFE PHONE ON SO I ASKED HER HOW CAN I GET THE LG G FLEX BECAUSE THE NOTE 3 PHONE WAS SO SMALL IN MY HANDS AND I JUST DIDNT LIKE IT AT ALL SO SHE TOLD ME THAT I CAN PAY 50 DOLLARS TO GET THE LG G FLEX AND EVER SINCE I GOT THE LG G FLEX I LOVE IT. I TELL ANYBODY GET THE FLEX U WILL FALL IN LOVE WITH IT AND I HAVE A LOT OF PEOPLE WANNA KNOW WHAT KIND OF PHONE IS IT.
***** there you go. for me, its like when someone is being ignorant... well two wrongs don't make a right.. but for him to say those things... he was just asking for it i don't mind his opinion about the phones, but i returned my g flex because of the 720 screen resolution, its not the amoled display, and you can put an sd card..
Unless theres a new model, the Note 3's screen is 5.5 inches, not 5.7. The screen size is determined by a top to bottom measurement. A diagonal measurement shows a 6.5 inch diagonal size. Neither of those measurements is 5.5 inches. Before any of you self proclaimed geniuses says i have a fake Note 3 ... i bought mine off contract at a Verizon retailer store. I have an Otterbox for the Note 3. It fits PERFECTLY. Theres about a 16th of an inch (1.7MM to be exact) between the top of the screen, and the bottom of the part of the case that surrounds the sensors and phone speaker. You would need at least 5.1MM (.2 inches) of space to accommodate the supposed extra screen space. The area with the home button actually overlaps the bottom of the screen by about .5MM (visual estimate, it clearly overlaps, but maybe by a little more or less).
I have read and watched many reviews on the Note 3 and many of them as this video did mention a 64gb version, yet I have been unable to find one anywhere. If you can help please let me know.
I went from the galaxy s3 to the flex and I love it. The price was the factor and the note 3 was a little to pricey, plus they had a great deal on the flex. One of the things I love about the flex is that you can see the display when the sun is shinning right on it, where it is hard to see the display with a flat phone. I think the curve in the screen is the culprit for that. All I can say is that I am happy with my choice. I also wanted a better speaker as I had a hard time hearing my old phone when it rang.
You failed to mention the main selling aspect of the Flex is the "flexible" display. The Note 3 still has a glass display and WILL shatter. Whereas the Flex display will FLEX and not shatter. I'm kinda excited to be able to carry my phone naked instead of stuffed into rubber armor. I'm hoping the Note series (I have the Note 2) will go with a flexible style of display in the future. The Note 4 maybe?
Then perhaps the dude should have compared the LG to the PROPER competition, which is not the Note 3, but rather the Galaxy Round. The fact that you have no clue about this phone, which is the ORIGINAL flexible display phone, means who really can't be taken seriously. #Ignorance
Khemistry The Galaxy Round is not flexible in any way. Doing so will result in major damage of your phone. The Galaxy Round does have a curved display on the sides rather they chose to have it on the sides to make portrait mode easier to handle, such as texting. Also, I believe the first curved phone was the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, but it only had a really slight curve from top to bottom.
I just bought the G Flex, and gave my Note 3 to my fiance, as she uses the S. PEN a lot, I love both phones, the 720p display is really good, Note3 looks a Lil sharper, but all around great phone, plus I'm glad to have a different feel, as I been using Samsung since the Vibrant...
I see a huge difference in the Note 3. Besides the specs; a removable battery and being able to add more memory are two of the things I look for the most when purchasing a phone.
i was using samsung and i didnt liked other phone like sony and nokia , but lg g2 changed the way im thinking , now i want to use lg because their awsome tech specs and awsome key layout .maybe someone think its freeky but when u get used to it u dont wana move back .
I've been using a note 3 and now a g2. I love the stylus on the note 3, and the screen size. But the buttons in the back and ui make the g2 more practical (and headphone audio is better). So whilst I love using the note 3 when I have the ability to use 2 hands I use the g2 more frequently. And seeing this video I'm very curious to see what the g flex is like. Whether the buttons on the back make usage more practical (I have to shuffle the note 3 in my hand if I try and use it one handed). It's great that Samsung, once writing detailed manuals in how to copy the iPhone, has moved forward on innovation and also that LG have gone away from the standard flat slab. Between the two of them, and Sony there's enough competition to drive innovation. Just need to drive the price down now (oppo, huawei...?)
Michael, as usual, you da man, great review as always. I am a huge fan of the Note 3, that is the best phone in the world as far as I'm concerned. I don't think any phone can equal that one in a comparison but the G Flex looks like a worthy competitor.
I have the lg g flex now but I can't install a custom ROM cm12. So I purchased yesterday a at&t note 3!. And also a laptop to learn more about developing and be one in the future.
LG G Flex- is an awesome phone. The 720p is hardly noticeable. I was worried it would be but screen resolution looks great. I am really glad I bought this phone.
Great comparison. Love your style of reviewing devices. By any chance, are you going to take a look at the google edition sony z ultra and the lg g pad? I am really looking forward to those devices review from the pocketnow lab.
Enjoyed this comparison as I was looking at both. Your reasons provided helped me decide that the Flex was my choice, with the understanding that both are excellent phones. As the Flex is the first curved screen phone, I would venture to say we will be seeing some nice advancements in many areas with the next version of the Flex when it comes out.
I love the note 3. With the s-pen it's in a class of its own. I've had apple,Sony,Nokia phones and I've just sold my galaxy s4. So I thought I would give this a try, it's amazing the s4 does not touch this with speed(even though tests show it does. I don't believe that)the multi tasking the screen the options available are amense. If you take every other phablet phone and add them all together. You will end up with a note 3. I will never go back to a smaller phone again. Next move will be the note 4!
I had both of these phones. Still have my Note 3 because I liked it so much over the Flex. The Flex just had way to much ghosting it was terrible and ruined the phone for me. Everything else was awesome and I liked it tbh. The buttons on the back I actually liked alot but really the grainy screen with its terrible ghosting just was a deal breaker and got a Note 3 instead.
phonegirl07 It's awesome, don't forget the Qremote slide aside and Qslide apps, remember to use them and you will be much more efficent with your phone. LG's software is awesome! I'm happy for you!
The flex looks good but I can still consider myself to be a note man to be (need to buy the device first of course but I thank Pocketnow for the info helping make the choice).
i got lg g flex, been using it for 2weeks only issue i have is the gps, i don't know if the Scout GPS app is faulty or my phone's GPS is not working correctly but the app keeps saying that it can't connect to gps besides that lg g flex is definitely a great phone, you get used to the curvature as well ;d
Thanks for watching! Not sure what you mean re: MKBHD - there's not much here that we haven't been doing for a while. Still, I appreciate the comparison. :) ^M
Pocketnow I did not mean it bad. I just liked how you got to this comparison showing us what is the most frequent thing people write into google to actually see it compared to and doing the comparison based on this fact ! I like it a lot.
UltimateGokuLSSJ7 The only benchmark difference really is that the Note 3 sports an extra gb of RAM. When it comes down to it RAM is needed for multitasking and reading/writing processes. So that's why the benchmark results are very close.
Great review. I've got the note 3 and the g flex. I've ended up using the flex more than the note 3, despite the note's sharper resolution, because:
1) It's easier to turn on/off the flex- double tap or my finger rests automatically on the on/off button. The note 3 I have to shuffle. (Also meant I get longer usage out of the flex).

They're both good device. I've still got the note 3 - however, it's now gathering dust as the flex is more comfortable for me to use, a bigger screen and for my usages, more powerful.
"Here it is! Aw maan"
I love this guy's review and "Vs" styled videos. He's so unbiased, fair and very thorough. its hard to watch other videos from other channels again.
Appreciate that, Dante; thanks! ^M
How did you manage to balance the LG G Flex vertically 00:59 , that was impressive
We revealed our secret to magic standing phones a while back on Instagram: heavy, but short, salt & pepper shakers. :) ^M
Pocketnow tres cool. You always deliver excellent reviews. Loving my G Flex.
Here it is. Oh man.
Next should be G FLEX VS SAMSUNG ROUND. The curvacious smackdown

Just got one. Can't wait to use brand new Lg G Flex.. great review bdw.
Best reviewer hands down.
Awesome Comparison Michael
I just love G Flex ...

and that distortion while watching the videos. OMG
Still Love my lg g flex after months
Me too!
Right when you said "They're not Apple products but..." I turned it off..
he was making a joke
Great comparison, nice job, I really enjoyed it!!
Ive got the flex I love it.
Noah Shepherd curious if you are alive lol
Saw the Flex in the store awhile back and was impressed. Michael Fisher's review of the Flex (and this video) convinced me to purchase the Flex. I get mine Monday. Dat battery life!
Always enjoy Mike Fishers reviews. Stay warm out there in Boston dude !!
The LG is a beauty. Kinda bored of the Samsung's. They all look alike
That's why i got the g flex.
What's the wallpaper that the g flex has in the beginning called?
I tried both the note 3 and LG g flex, the flex screen looks so beautiful.
Display is so bright even when it set at 0%... I own the lg g flex and love it. I am so used to curved screen on the flex now Now flat display looks weird ...
What program is it that you use for benchmarking?
Micheal don't stop the awesome reviews! I just want to know why was the Xperia Z Ultra overlooked?
I just want to say, that was the most unbiased and down to earth comparison I have seen on youtube. Great job, made me even more excited for my Note 3!

We don't care !!....sorry
***** remember when I said you're ignorant? My bad dude
I understand if he likes the g flex but goddamn talk about being a fanboy and being ignorant
*****
there you go. for me, its like when someone is being ignorant... well two wrongs don't make a right.. but for him to say those things... he was just asking for it
i don't mind his opinion about the phones, but i returned my g flex because of the 720 screen resolution, its not the amoled display, and you can put an sd card..
are you kidding the note 3 is small?WTF
MY WIFE AND I, learn your grammar man!
Unless theres a new model, the Note 3's screen is 5.5 inches, not 5.7. The screen size is determined by a top to bottom measurement. A diagonal measurement shows a 6.5 inch diagonal size. Main thing I love and appreciate about videos like this, is that they are mostly, if not completely unbiased. Great Review.
I went from the galaxy s3 to the flex and I love it. The price was the factor and the note 3 was a little to pricey, plus they had a great deal on the flex. One of the things I love about the flex is that you can see the display when the sun is shinning right on it, where it is hard to see the display with a flat phone.
Go look at android authorities drop test. Idk what ur talking about with the "shatter proof" thing...
The screen itself may not shatter, but the glass over it will. It does't not Flex easily, it just cant withstand flexing.
Then perhaps the dude should have compared the LG to the PROPER competition, which is not the Note 3, but rather the Galaxy Round. The fact that you have no clue about this phone, which is the ORIGINAL flexible display phone, means who really can't be taken seriously. #Ignorance

Well very good review and the wallpaper is rlly cool too . From where i can get this wallpaper ?
So the 720p screen on the g flex shouldn't be a problem?
I just bought the G Flex, and gave my Note 3 to my fiance, as she uses the S. PEN a lot, I love both phones, the 720p display is really good, Note3 looks a Lil sharper, but all around great phone, plus I'm glad to have a different feel, as I been using Samsung since the Vibrant...
"pictures" The poem of the undergound wall :)
Flex for having that unique curve and that battery is just freaking awesome!
Please do a review between the galaxy round and the flex.
I love my LG G FLEX
Does any one knows what clock widget is he using on minute 3:17
can someone tell me what is the name of the wallpaper please.
Hi Michael, great, honest and objective comparison....I got my G Flex 2 weeks ago and Really love it...
I see a huge difference in the Note 3. Besides the specs; a removable battery and being able to add more memory are two of the things I look for the most when purchasing a phone.
I have a Galaxy Note 3. Best thing that I have ever bought. It's an awesome phone. Battery lasts me all day, and it's super fast. Love it.
What's the wallpaper with the dots it looks awesome can you tell me how you got it?
yes he got it from a tyre shop.
Sears has it.
i was using samsung and i didnt liked other phone like sony and nokia , but lg g2 changed the way im thinking , now i want to use lg because their awsome tech specs and awsome key layout .maybe someone think its freeky but when u get used to it u dont wana move back .
I've come to the same conclusion- buttons on the back aren't even something I'd have thought of but it does make things so much easier!
Pocketnow when you say "screen on time" how much brightness do you use?
Did you guys will make a Vs video between galaxy s4 and the lg g2 ? It would be great :)
Thank you very much Michael Fisher You are a wonderful provider.
Thanks this video was a good comparison and breakdown. Also its great to see the familiar sites being from Beantown myself.
Always Great Videos ! Thanks
Dose anyone know where I can get that wallpaper?
I have the note 3. Cant wait for the note 4!!!!
Michael, as usual, you da man, great review as always. I am a huge fan of the Note 3, that is the best phone in the world as far as I'm concerned. I don't think any phone can equal that one in a comparison but the G Flex looks like a worthy competitor.

Pocketnow Your welcome
Watched a few videos of yours and ur amazing!!!! New subby :*
great vid as always, keep up with the great work :-)
My 2 fav devices at the moment. Had the G flex ( love that phone) but sold it to get the AT&T LTE version. In the meantime using the BEAST note 3.
nice review
what is special on curve display?
Thanks Michael. Definitely the best review on RUclips.
Enjoyed this comparison as I was looking at both. Your reasons provided helped me decide that the Flex was my choice, with the understanding that both are excellent phones. As the Flex is the first curved screen phone, I would venture to say we will be seeing some nice advancements in many areas with the next version of the Flex when it comes out.
getting my flex next weekend, cant wait. Leaving crapple :D
Micheal Fisher you are too good!!!!
The Best Channel!
Best review of comparing both phones. .I have both and they are great.
Great job!!
hey Michael great review but try to be adding the price try .'
I have Note 3 from october 2013 , and in my opinion, this is the best smartphone for this moment (19.04.2014) in the world.
nice comparison ..great idea to look for the comparisons searched by people on Google.
Thanks for another great review!
I have a s3 is it worth the upgrade
Love the flex but the stylus and crisp screen on the note 3 has me leaving more to it.
Excellent review. Best and most comprehensive review on LG Flex to date. I really think LG Flex is the future of cell phones.
I think that even if the g flex is bigger the curve helps a little in one handed usage vs the normal screen on the note
Which one supports Adobe Flash Player?
Can I flash my lg g flex to u.s.cellular?
Please, I want that wallpaper. Link, please.
lg g flex suprised me
Can you give me Wallpaper link please ?
Thanks i was undesided wich one to get but u made it easy my battle was between lg flex & note 3
I have the G2 now but I'd take the note 3 if I had to choose between these two.
***** Yes, but this was if I had to choose between these two. I love my G2 and think it's the best phone ever made.

It's awesome, don't forget the Qremote slide aside and Qslide apps, remember to use them and you will be much more efficent with your phone. LG's software is awesome! I'm happy for you!
The flex looks good but I can still consider myself to be a note man to be (need to buy the device first of course but I thank Pocketnow for the info helping make the choice).
Good video Michael. Nice greetings From Spain. See you at the next Movile World Congress in Barcelona ?
i got lg g flex, been using it for 2weeks
only issue i have is the gps, i don't know if the Scout GPS app is faulty or my phone's GPS is not working correctly but the app keeps saying that it can't connect to gps
besides that lg g flex is definitely a great phone, you get used to the curvature as well ;d
Great comparison! I'm happy with my Note 3 :)
Soo Michael you learned a few tricks from Marquez! Nice ! I am prepared for you to improve even more!
Thanks for watching! Not sure what you mean re: MKBHD - there's not much here that we haven't been doing for a while. Still, I appreciate the comparison. :) ^M
Pocketnow I think the G Flex cheats on its benchmark test
Pocketnow I did not mean it bad. I just liked how you got to this comparison showing us what is the most frequent thing people write into google to actually see it compared to and doing the comparison based on this fact ! I like it a lot.
UltimateGokuLSSJ7 The only benchmark difference really is that the Note 3 sports an extra gb of RAM. When it comes down to it RAM is needed for multitasking and reading/writing processes. So that's why the benchmark results are very close.
What widget is? Clima
Watching this on my nexus 5 ! Like the innovation in g flex. Only if it ran stock Android.
Could u pls do a comparison between samsung and vega phones in south korea they have such really good phones
