I know your videos get a lot of comments, and you probably don't get to all of them, but something I've been doing recently is wacky rigging Zoom finesse worms and trick worms (either in pink, sprayed grass, or something similar) usually with a #2 hook, and a 1/32 to 1/16 oz bullet sinker with a bobber stop within a half inch of the eye of the hook..and I have absolutely slayed some really quality bass in central Illinois and elsewhere with this technique. It's much more finesse than most people care to throw, but I feel that ultra slow action, along with intermittent rod twitches, gives this bait a very realistic presentation. I took 2nd place single handedly, in the back of the boat, in a small lake I'd never fished doing this against 27 other boats (my partner didn't land a keeper) skipping this setup in pink under overhanging trees..it's worthwhile when the fish are shallower, and relating to that kinda structure and shade, or for bed fishing.
@@WheelerFishing I don't doubt that at all! Something I will definitely have to try out. There's something about the presentation of the finesse worm sinking and squirming around as it slowly sinks that is irresistible more often than not..I'll have to make some neko setups out of welding wire and some drilled out .22 cal pellets with holes drilled through em 😁 cheap and effective!
Thank you for showing all the ways to rig a wacky rig. I had never use a wacky setup until a week ago. I truly enjoy fishing a wacky! Many many thanks.
Listen man I have gotten back into fishing because of you. Watching you on MLF is absolutely awesome, I know your being humble, but there is no way that anyone could possibly give your pointers on catching fish, you literally have broken three tournament world records of which you held yourself.
I mentioned this on DC's channel. How can anyone give a thumbs down on anything you guys put out? Trying to share your knowledge and most of us really appreciate it. You dont HAVE to do this! But man I'm sure glad you take the time to share. So much appreciated. And for the guys who give it a thumbs down...At least grow a pair and tell us why. Thumbs down? Really? Thumbs down on arguably one of the BEST angulars of our generation? Why? Thats what i want to know. If you dont like wacky rigging then say it. If you dont like the hook choice say it. So sick of seeing a thumbs down on any of these guys instructional vids that they are not required to do. Quit clicking your mouse and watch...you might just learn something!!!
My son and i fish together once a week and his go to is a wacky rig. Ive been stubborn forever using it because I love to throw a jig or texas rig or anything that keeps me moving. I just didnt have the patience it takes to throw it. Well long story short he has out fished me at least 3-1 all year! I tied one on for the first time last week and landed a decent 2lb largemouth and became a believer. I dont know why i havent tried it sooner especially fishing the pressured lakes we fish here in central and southern ohio. Thanks JW for" legitimizing" it for me now! I feel like since you put out this vid I'm allowed to go wacky!
Been bass fishing for 50 years. Have used wacky rig Senkos since they became popular. Today is the first time seeing the crossover pliers gadgets or rings. I generally use o rings and if I run out I may make a trip to a Lowe’s or Home Depot to re supply. Enjoy your videos. I liked that you owned up to missing your target when skipping. I have said many times when I watch a successful skip “ these guys are good”. And then I think time on the water.
Great video... I use 2. O rings... I make an X. And put the hook between them .. So i don't lose that much bait... They do tend to cut the bait after so many cast/ fish that you catch. But great way to hook it side ways through the baits
And im glad you mentioned Brody. Idk where he learned to edit but he's an absolute master. What you do with a fishing rod, he does with editing. Absolute 🔥
I’ve stayed on the O ring w Vmc weighted weedless wacky rig hooks for river fishing. Green pumpkin and black/blue the only 2 colors you need. There’s a “correct” orientation for your senko. But I’ve hooked it all kinds of rotations just turning the thing to find plastic to hook thru after it gets bit/ torn a bit. On a River you fish it like your trout fishing. Find a run, float it by something at looks good, and hook it over a shoulder and you’re good to go.
Glad you mentioned Sufix Nano. I can't find many reviews on it. From what I can tell on the website I did not see much of a size difference from the 832.
I use dinger a majority of the time considering I fish for bass mostly around cover and shallower waters. I've noticed they are much much more durable. I will have twice the amount of dingers then senkos left after fishing. I can hit trees all day. Catch several fish on one dinger alone. Yes there are times I loose my dinger. But generally I feel like a dinger is better plus cheaper in most cases
I have a different idea that works for me !!!! I use a senko with heatshrink tubing heated up tight in the same spot as you and put the hook down through the heartstrings and senko. I can catch 5 to 10 bass on one sensor. Try it, you might like it!!!!
Hey man super easy video thanks for all you do to help us… I would like to see how you rig up different weights for worm fishing, power and finesse if you would please, been a big fan for long time. GOD bless you and your family
It’s good that you give the information of the rod of the links but you didn’t say if it’s a bay caster or if there’s a spinning rod for some people that don’t understand and how to Fishtown wacky rig
Bass fishing is there anything better and I am addicted too it I am now 14 two years ago I started my channel and I am damn proud of it and I am finally getting close too my 1 k sub goal !!!
Do you put a leader on the end of that nanobraid? If so what type and size? I just recently bought some and it’s kinda steep so I threw some crap mono backer on first but I still wondered if I needed to leader it. I love it already, so smooth!
The vmc crossover rings have annoyed me....bait flips over on the cast sometimes and lays in the gap of your hook...also when u hook a fish it pulls the hook through the eye of the ring and i cant get the hook back through.
Met an older guy up on Erie who showed me a trick using a small piece of electrical tape. I like cutting it in half for a smaller profile. Hook your hook at the end of the tape to keep it in place. Fish one worm for hours. Give it a try. You will thank me later.
Curious why you don't center the o-ring on the bait to get that horizontal shimmy. And to the non-experts, don't overwork the bait! Cast it, or skip it and just let it sink slow.
Hi Jacob! Love your rods but I would love to buy a medium light spinning rod for drop shotting. Tried your med 7ft and was a little stiff. Are you designing a dropshot rod? Thanks!

I know it’s an old question but you can. I have before and hooked a lot of bass in the bottom of the mouth in the corner of the gill opening. The bass were ok but I had to cut the line to get the hook out without hurting them. In my opinion you’re better off setting the hook as soon as they bite.
Big goggan guy here,, I think your more informative, goggan levs is great n all but I think you cover the bases more in layman's terms or somethin like that.
Its medium or medium heavy power not action. Action is usually extra fast, fast, moderate etc. I hear pros mix up the power and action on rod specs all the time.

True humility - one - of the keys to your success - thanks Jacob!!!!
There's also a way to saddle Kris Kross it with two o-rings to straighten your hook out if you don't have an o-ring with a hole in the top.
That’s usually how I rig mine o rings are cheap lol
You beat me to it! I used crossover rings by utilizing two O rings. Hookup definitely is better when the hook is perpendicular to the worm.
Wowowowowowooooow!! I needed this comment for my fishing life. Thanks. Never knew that.
@@mikefurness1598 same way I do it, 2 o-rigs crossed.neko hook 1/0
1/0 hooks seem to bend really easy when using braid. If you experience this problem go to the number #1 size. It's stiffer than the 1/0.

I really like those VMC Neko hooks. Recently taught 4 people how to fish, and they all caught their first fish/bass on a wacky rig!
Those VMC neko hooks are the best for wacky rigs in my opinion.
Interesting, I'll have give the crossover o ring a try. The Mustad Wacky O-Ring has been my go to so far.
Great to hear that im not the only one who hits the pontoon 7 times before finally getting it right. Thanks for the tips and keep lippin um

It’s good that you give the information of the rod of the links but you didn’t say if it’s a bay caster or if there’s a spinning rod for some people that don’t understand and how to Fishtown wacky rig
Spinning rod 7’2” medium / medium heavy
Good tips im a first time wakey rig user thought it was just a gimmic at first i love the crossover rings you got a subscribe from me
Thank you so much for the tips I’m never fished a wacky rig but I’m gonna try now.✌🏼🎣
Cheapo small hog ring pliers also do the trick I have a bent head not quite nicely for prongs as well
Basically the same thing you got to there only to mine are all aircraft aluminum for smaller commercial applications ( not fishing )...
Good stuff Wheeler! 🎣 👊🏼💯🇺🇸
Thanks for the tips my friend!

Whats up Jacob, Great video, I hate wacky rigging, but i love it when i need to catch a fish
Worm selection is key. Worms with no salt you’re gonna be pissed cause it floats. Make sure it bring some weighted hooks
I pretty much exclusively fish with GYCB senkos wacky rigged with an o ring and use the bass pro metal o ring applicator.
But I dig that set of crossovers you have.. especially since it holds rings..so easy for pre packing for sure.
For sure!
With that thin of line, do you use backing on the reel? I really learn from your videos.
You r win up in new york(congrats by the way) was you using a rattling ned rid drop shot style ??? Thanks love the info and channel .
Been using the crossover rings for a while work great

I recently switched to the Sufix 832 braid (and I really love it, so not looking to switch)...differences between it and the Nanobraid? Just curious

A rigging sleeve works very well…I prefer the Arsenal Fishing sleeves… definitely get a longer life out of my senkos.
What ratio reel do you use if you are throwing a bait caster
GREAT VIDS MAN YOU'RE THE BEST
Do you use a sinker on a wacky rig set up?
Hi Jacob! Love your rods but I would love to buy a medium light spinning rod for drop shotting. Tried your med 7ft and was a little stiff. Are you designing a dropshot rod? Thanks!
if the fish are "hook shy" would you hook it normally without the o-ring?
Thank far the great video
Awesome.hope you do more vids like this.
thanks Jacob for the video
I’m going to try this out!
Where is the weight placed? Above or below the worm?
on Neely last week smashed the back of a pontoon I look up theres 4 sets of eyes starring me down lol

Oh and one more thing Jacob what kind of flip-flops do you like to wear?
It's funny you said about hitting a pontoon. My wife caught her biggest smallmouth because she threw into a pontoon lol
Where was that?!

Do you use a weight for the wacky worm
You can hook crosswise using two "O" rings crossed over.
Always weightless or with weight?
hey Jacob remember me "Owen Parker" Louisiana
Can I use a circle hook to avoid potentially gut-hooking them on the wacky? Or will I be sacrificing too many hook sets?

8lb flouro leader? 10?
