I love how the entire fandom of this show is so hung up on this mysterious man that no one can just accept that a random man with a pompador helped a car stuck in snow in 1988 and then just left. Thats it.
because it’s just deductive reasoning bro guy with same hair style with blood on his face out in the middle of a freaking blizzard while part of his face being obscured too in a story that involves time travel to a degree. All of these factors are very indicative of a scrapped time travel plot but people would rather believe it was planned all along
@@brace4impact258 I think these people who think it was a scrapped time travel plot only ever watch Jojo because that character looks exactly like a generic delinquent you'd see in almost every high school slice-of-life anime. In the society of japan people would look at Josuke and think he is a kid looking to do bad things to others. All delinquents take similar hairstyles and looks and are usually bullies or in gangs. The fact that a delinquent (someone society japanese society looks down on) had a kind heart and helped Josuke and his mother while a respectable looking business man Kira, is a serial killer is the intention. That guy was never meant to be Josuke, the blood doesn't need explanation if you know enough about delinquents or or watched enough school anime. They get in fights all the time because they rebel against the norms in japan. Simple as that, no scrapped time travel or anything.
@@brace4impact258 1. "Same hair style" isn't a point in your favor because that's literally a famous Japanese hairstyle for delinquents. 2. Time travel was only developed as a literal last-minute crutch for Kira to save himself with. 3. It was a small flashback to explain a running gag, it being "planned all along" isn't far-fetched. 4. There's an interview that disproves this all anyways 5. ruclips.net/video/pvwszolblwU/видео.html
Yeah but that's time travel backwards. That shits a mindfuck. Skipping time like king crimson is relatively simple to write, araki just didnt explain it well
Lacko Mode I’m not entirely sure, so correct me if I’m wrong, but I think D4C is more spatial travel. From what I’ve heard, it just has the ability to replace Valentine with a version of himself from a different universe, which isn’t really time related.
Koichi was the one telling the story so for me, It was him visualizing the man as Josuke because he knows how much Josuke idolizes the man but that's just my interpretation
That could kinda make sense, but, usually in this type of scenes in anime/manga, were someone is telling something that happened, the flashback always is represented accurately as posible, so the viewer/reader can understand what actually happened And, even if that were the case, why Koichi imagined the person that saved josuke all damaged, with all the blood and wounds over his face? I think that's the biggest problem.
Juancho El Negro Maybe Josuke saw the wounds when he was little and he also described that to Koichi and that's why he's imagining it too... The strangest of this all is how good Josuke's memory is, as he was like 5 and had a heavy fever. But that's just normal Jojo logic.
Alternative universe Josuke exist though, and I'm not seeing a lot of similarities. I mean there can be a whole multiverse, but I don't think Araki made more than the original and the new one (I haven't read part 6-8 yet so yeah I'm not sure.)
MTF Unit Foxtrot-6 Commander it does actually. There’s the other guy in part 8 (I read it I just forgot his name.) that also has a pompadour. Plus he also is a part of josuke 8. It kind of does but that would be a fucking complicated plot.
I always just thought the snow guy looked exactly like Josuke because Koichi was told by Josuke that he looks exactly like him, so from Koichi's perspective, he just imagined the snow guy that way. Koichi even says himself that it's not accurate and he is just making his own assumptions. Honestly this still sounds like the most likely option.
Wow this has to be one of the most sounded araki forgots and it also happens to be one of the most stupid ones out there. (Araki literaly says in an interview this was just a good samaritan made to build josukes character motivations)
Yeah, it makes sense, I also was in the middle of a blizzard when suddenly a guy that looked the same as I but 16 years older appear out of nowhere even if he was bleeding from a fight that happend during the blizzard...
Fun fact, Araki said in an interview that this character was unrelated in anyway to Josuke when asked about how he cut a time travel plot where he saves his younger self.
@@c.danteosorio2688 Bruh. How is it implied that snow guy is Josuke from the Future? Like, at all. I doubt Araki would change Josuke’s age (the pins on snow guy’s jacket denote that he is a senior) and outfit so drastically throughout the part.

Theory, this is actually parallel world josefumi while in high school,(this isn't even a theory more of a small interesting idea) ps don't look up Josefumi if you aren't caught up on part 8.
My own theory is that the guy wasn’t josuke and why he was walking around in the snow, bleeding in the middle of the night, is that he was fighting yoshikage himself. This is why yoshikage says he hates fights because he probably got into a brutal fight with this guy and this guy ended up dying in the snow that night.

when i was watching i legit thought josukes stand could rewind time and thats why he was able to heal people because he was rewinding time on their wound and fixing it so i thought at the end he would go back in time and push the car for his mum
honestly i feel like all the jojo stands (at least for 3-6, idk anything abt 7 and 8) could be read as a form of time travel, or at least manipulation? esoteric and overly technical to read it like that, especially 5 and 6, but technically possible. granted that's a lot of lore discussion that i wouldn't know enough to dispute and is probably ultimately meaningless bc its jojo but food for thought? not to jump on a 4 month old comment oops
I like to believe that it was just a student who happened to move away. Josuke being inspired so much by a random act of human kindness is far more touching and personal then some sort of time travel shenanigans.
I think that if they klled of Josuke with the time travel as he stops Kira in a fight through time could have been and incredibly sad and effective ending in the same level if not better than steel ball run
See, the problem with saying "It's obviously supposed to be Josuke or it wouldn't look exactly like him" is that this isn't a flashback. It's a story being told by Koichi. Since he only knows so many details, he probably just thinks of this mysterious stranger as looking exactly like Josuke, since he has no other frame of reference than "Josuke tries to look like him."

i still believe that it was intended to be josuke originally, but as things are now, i imagine he only looks like josuke because of tomoko not getting a good look at him because of the snowstorm, so she wasn't able to tell josuke exactly how he looked besides the most outstanding thing about him, as in the mystery man's hairstyle. koichi is just parroting what josuke told him offscreen, and i imagine that koichi imagines the man to look exactly like josuke does now
I don't buy " koichi imagines the man to look exactly like josuke does now" In similiar scenes i've seen in that past that wouldn't really make any sense.
It's the only explanation I can think of for why this man looks like Josuke as a teenager. I believe Koichi was told that Josuke modeled himself after the mystery man because he idolized him for saving his life, and that can be interpreted in several different ways
My guess for the storyline for this was yoshigake being able to remember the terrible blizzard that hit morioh and used bites the dust to send him Josuke back at that time to die and not recover. However, even though Josuke was stuck in that timeline, he also remembers the day to be the exact same day he would have met the guy who would have saved his life. So, Josuke would try to go back to that area just to have a last glimpse at that guy with not having a care in the world since he is stuck in that time and just wants to see the guy one last time before he died. However, Josuke was at the right place and at the right time and would see his mom stop the car, but is shocked to not see the guy who he would use as a role model. So, he decided to get the van that his mom is driving to get moving in the heavy storm.
What if because if made in heavens ability caused joskue to go back in time and for him to help himself. Think about it the guy came out of nowhere and had the same uniform the joskue has.
The guy that help josuke was josefumi he had same age as kira but lost without any trace i think in future when pucci power being reversed we going to intruduce about josefumi identity and his stand it like josefumi help josuke for some reason have something to do about how stand user was meant to be meet
That is not the actual problem. It is the fact, that a Highschool student with fresh wounds was standing in the middle of an blizzard, miles way form the town, at the right time to say Josuke.
When I saw what Bites the Dust could do, I thought that punk in the snow could very well be Josuke. However, it was never addressed and Araki seems like the guy that would if it was. The inexplainable in art is in the eye of the beholder, and I like to see it as simply someone who had a kind heart and became a father figure to Josuke to the point of imitation.
@@guscanterbury9225 I would think, just maybe, that becausea stand is a manifestation from your mind,it would be dio's because a stand has nothing to do with your body
My question is.. how the hell does he remember, in detail, the hairstyle of a complete stranger he saw for a few brief moments when he was a todler, enough to recreate it every single day
Flashbulb memories can last a long time. It was literally a guy who saved his life, I’m sure you’d remember them for the rest of your life in near perfect detail. A high percentage of people who heard the news of 9/11 were able to recall what exactly they were doing when they discovered the news and they weren’t even in danger! Imagine how much more vivid the memory would be if you were the plane crash survivor. Fascinating stuff, sorry if I come off in a bitchy way.
I like the Idea that Josuke's hero was just a cool dude who happened to be in the right place, at the right time. Not time-travel shenanigans or some other bullshit, just a person who saw a family in need.
See, when Bites The Dust was introduced, I thought that Kira would use it as he was being killed, resulting in the ability going berserk, and sending everyone way further back in time than an hour, causing chaos. But then Josuke would realize that, since Crazy Diamond could fix things, he would "fix" the timeline, and on his way back to the present, he would save his younger self. Also, the fact that there was absolutely no trace of that hero who saved Josuke really lends itself to the idea that the hero actually was a time-traveling Josuke.
LaserFace23 I used to think that killer queen's ability would have been to send other individuals into the past (a la weeping angels) and this would "break" the time-line. Kira, in his final showdown, sent Josuke a decade onto the past, and Josuke would have to fix the time line by saving himself to defeat Kira.
I think originally Josuke was supposed to die, but Araki changed his mind and didn't want to kill him off. My idea is that through some enhanced version of Bites the Dust or whatever specific event, Josuke is sent back in time after being badly injured, and in his last dying moments he recognizes where he is and saves his past self so he can live and grow up to sacrifice himself to save his friends. I think the fact that the mysterious teen is all beat up like Josuke near the final fight, and also that he has this somber look on his face and is so adamant in helping push the car, would be evidence that this is Josuke knowing exactly what is going on and accepting his fate. Or something like that, just an idea.
Wow reading this actually made me kinda sad. Josuke isn't even my favorite JoJo but the thought of him dying at the end of DiU would have made the ending alot more sad.
That's about what I thought as well about the uniforms. Josuke's is very stylized around the collar/lapels, while his is more of what you'd expect for just about every other background character. Plus, dude's got on some kind of grayish sweater instead of Josuke's yellow sleeveless shirt.
Lol ok guys so Araki legit said he didn’t plan to do shit with the character since so many were asking. He just wanted Josuke to have an inspiration and wanted a reason as to why Josuke got pissed whenever someone insulted his hair. He didn’t expect people to think it was Josuke time traveling. IMO, Araki probably planned for Kira to try to go back in time and kill Josuke as a last-ditch effort during the final battle, but grown-Josuke was able to go with him and keep him away from his younger self (coincidentally saving his life from the fever at the same time), explaining why he had the same injuries as during the final battle. It looks like Araki decided against whatever Stand ability/plot device allowed them to go back in time that far, and had to abandon the plot he foreshadowed.
Ooooh, that gives me an idea! Kira cuts his hand off again in the final battle after having it weighed down, succeeding in activating bites the dust. Josuke however, somehow grabs his severed hand and heals it at the same time, launching him into the time reversal with Kira. This somehow launches Josuke and Kira back to that night, because something about it has significance for both Josuke and Kira. It's never mentioned in the manga, but the timeline lines up, and I believe this night is both the night that Josuke is saved by a stranger, and the night Kira makes his first kill. 15 years before DIU. Why Bites the Dust does that? I don't know, but my guess is that because Bites the Dust's only purpose is to protect Kira, the night is the point where both Kira and Josuke's fates become intertwined, by Kira choosing to be a killer, and Josuke choosing to be like the man who saved him. From there I see two possible scenarios for the ultimate outcomes of Josuke and Kira. One, Josuke saves himself, and kills past Kira preventing all the deaths of the people he's killed therefore eliminating any reason why Josuke would be in the past. Or two, as they land in the past, Kira realizes he's still cornered by Josuke. He tries to no avail to activate Bites the Dust again, but having been pushed to it's limit, it doesn't work anymore. Josuke thusly wrecks his shit, saves his past self unknowingly, and in his last moments wanders into Morioh. He comes to the ghost alley, thinking he's died, but hears a commotion in one of the houses. Out emerges a young Kira, and at that sight Josuke collapses from both shock and his wounds. Struck upon him the realization that he's traveled backwards in time, and that he was always his own hero. The latter is not very light hearted or feel good, which is why I like it, but why I also think it wasn't the final cut of the ending. Some harsh reality of Josuke and Kira disappearing, never to be seen again wouldn't really fit the tone of the rest of the part, even though it's melancholic qualities more resemble the previous parts endings.
@@hannyfadia2246 I don't mind it either tbh, besides Araki has basically committed to solving the plot holes through the Rohan one shots. So in a way I think we're actually getting more out of it, ha.
I wonder what would happen if Josuke were to meet his savior again, and the guy insulted his hair by accident, saying something like "I can't believe I used to think such ridiculous hairstyle was cool!" while laughing or something like that.
Yes, the guy who saved Josuke is in the 3rd year judging by his badge. If I remember corectly, Josuke in p4 is a first-year so this man here can't be Josuke at the current end of p4. Maybe the original plotline extended more or had a timeskip. Only Araki knows that...

because it’s just deductive reasoning bro guy with same hair style with blood on his face out in the middle of a freaking blizzard while part of his face being obscured too in a story that involves time travel to a degree.
4. There's an interview that disproves this all anyways

Lacko Mode I’m not entirely sure, so correct me if I’m wrong, but I think D4C is more spatial travel. From what I’ve heard, it just has the ability to replace Valentine with a version of himself from a different universe, which isn’t really time related.

You thought Josuke had the first time travel, but it was me, Dio!
Koichi was the one telling the story so for me, It was him visualizing the man as Josuke because he knows how much Josuke idolizes the man but that's just my interpretation
Yeah Ok I see that.
That could kinda make sense, but, usually in this type of scenes in anime/manga, were someone is telling something that happened, the flashback always is represented accurately as posible, so the viewer/reader can understand what actually happened
And, even if that were the case, why Koichi imagined the person that saved josuke all damaged, with all the blood and wounds over his face? I think that's the biggest problem.
Juancho El Negro Maybe Josuke saw the wounds when he was little and he also described that to Koichi and that's why he's imagining it too...
The strangest of this all is how good Josuke's memory is, as he was like 5 and had a heavy fever. But that's just normal Jojo logic.
Cake Knight then why did he have the shit beat out of him?
Because he's a delinquent. Delinquents get into fights.
Josukes requiem stand fixing reality.
Araki in Part 194: _reveals it was actually alternate universe Josuke_

Alternative universe Josuke exist though, and I'm not seeing a lot of similarities. I mean there can be a whole multiverse, but I don't think Araki made more than the original and the new one (I haven't read part 6-8 yet so yeah I'm not sure.)
MTF Unit Foxtrot-6 Commander it does actually. There’s the other guy in part 8 (I read it I just forgot his name.) that also has a pompadour. Plus he also is a part of josuke 8. It kind of does but that would be a fucking complicated plot.
Why can I see this happening

~~He's not Josuke~~
He’s not really
He's not Josuke
But he is not a josuke
Oi not Josuke
I always just thought the snow guy looked exactly like Josuke because Koichi was told by Josuke that he looks exactly like him, so from Koichi's perspective, he just imagined the snow guy that way. Koichi even says himself that it's not accurate and he is just making his own assumptions. Honestly this still sounds like the most likely option.
that's what I think too, all koichi knows is that the guy wore a student's uniform and had a pompadour.
That definitely fits with Araki’s going out of his way to discredit the “Josuke saved himself” theory.

YES
Flashbulb memories can last a long time. It was literally a guy who saved his life, I’m sure you’d remember them for the rest of your life in near perfect detail. A high percentage of people who heard the news of 9/11 were able to recall what exactly they were doing when they discovered the news and they weren’t even in danger! Kahzarod my god THANK YOU. I really feel that's what araki wanted it to be, not this kingdom hearts convoluted bullshit time travel.
IKR
And it really expresses the main theme of part 4 . . . being a good Samaritan
I like the morbid idea that the random student died in the cold. Well, maybe not like but that's what I think most likely happened to him.
MrLCGO
later he would die of the cold
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
LaserFace23
I used to think that killer queen's ability would have been to send other individuals into the past (a la weeping angels) and this would "break" the time-line. Kira, in his final showdown, sent Josuke a decade onto the past, and Josuke would have to fix the time line by saving himself to defeat Kira.
But the thing is how did present day Josuke survive the fever? When he saves himself who saved him? You get what I mean.
VeylmanTheRock yeah like wtf how can he save himself in the past if he already survived
That would help explain why DiU is so relatively important death-free.
Jay Reviews holy shit

Wow reading this actually made me kinda sad. Josuke isn't even my favorite JoJo but the thought of him dying at the end of DiU would have made the ending alot more sad.

"The wounds are similar" minus the giant fucking pole in his stomach yeah kinda
XD
And the giant poles in his legs, and the fact he could barely stand at the end of the fight
It was koichi's mind
That's about what I thought as well about the uniforms. Josuke's is very stylized around the collar/lapels, while his is more of what you'd expect for just about every other background character. Plus, dude's got on some kind of grayish sweater instead of Josuke's yellow sleeveless shirt.
Plot twist: the kid that was "Josuke" didn't survive and Tomoko adopted the teenager and named him Josuke

Unless I’m missing something it would be literally impossible for Josuke to save himself.
If he dies in the snowstorm because nobody could save him then how could he be alive to go back in time and be able save himself?.
What I’m saying!!
@Richard Müller so that would mean he wouldn't need to save himself because he would survive either way
But little josuke is still alive right?
But what about alternate timelines like in Steins;Gate
Ofc it doesn't make sense in the same timeline
