22:49 - Charles Nelson Reilly and Brett Somers are among the celebrity panelists when Gene Rayburn hosts "Match Game PM" tomorrow night at 7:30 right here on Channel 7.
Ted Striker on the panel...Nice. Because he was on the T.V. show "Angie" at this point before Airplane! hit the movie theaters. This episode was a great find in great condition.
Yeah, who would have thunk it? His appearance ultimately killed this show months later on NBC as well as High Rollers with Alex Trebek and Chain Reaction with Bill Cullen. Thanks to that DICKHEADED ASSHOLE fred silverman.
@@eyehatefarcebook11 Fred Silverman especially hated Hollywood Squares. Silverman was at CBS when Hollywood Squares was originally being piloted for CBS in 1965 with Bert Parks. He passed on Hollywood Squares in favor of a short-lived game show called “The Face is Familiar,” which lasted just 4 months in 1966.
It was the nighttime Hollywood squares each win for $250dollars . Daytime NBC was $200 dollars after 5 matches $2000 the contestant will retire for 2 new contestants.
We'd finally knew why this came from the syndicated Nighttime version of The Hollywood Squares, this show debuted a new theme song Peter Marshall was still the master of The Hollywood Squares, and soon-to-be talk show host David Letterman took over as the center square in Paul Lynde's place. That was from an original 1979 broadcast, when it aired in syndication.
A nice surprise to see David Letterman here...in the center square at that too!

It’s not The Hollywood Squares without Paul Lynde. No good.
Dave Letterman in Paul's old seat! Wow!
yea, and who knew what a twisted perv he'd be revealed as being so many years later.......

16:37 is your WTF question of 1979.
I'd call that a star-studded panel.
It’s the Man in the Bin
In this syndicated twice weekly version, this was aired somewhere between late 1979 and early 1980.
And I think it was five times a week by the last one (1980-1981).
@@VahanNisanian It was a 5-day a week syndicated version throughout that season

This aired on WDAU CBS-22 Scranton Tuesday & Thursday at 7:30
What a find!!!
This would have aired between September-December 1979. September was when the new theme came and January 1980 was when the new set arrived.
Late 1979
Okay, I get it. Late 1979. All you had to say was one time. One time.
Music by Stan Worth.
HS was created by Merrill Heatter Productions.
The show was starting to slip at this point.
Robert Hayes is so hot.
He had the smush smush with Cherie Currie
Wait That Look So Funny This is a funny Video Ha Ha HaHa Ha🤣
Any more great Game Show we can't find in a longtime?
If I find anymore, yes, there will be.
I second that notion! Love classic HS!
WMAQ - NBC Channel 5 aired "Price Is Right" from 1972 to 1980. Bob Barker hosted the final three seasons; otherwise, the late Dennis James.
@@VahanNisanian Airdate?
@@meowkitty5588 It could have been any airdate. This version was bicycled.
