Life for farmers all over the world is never easy. Bad weather and destructive insects are always a threat. I'm surrounded by Amish here in northwestern Pennsylvania and what has always impressed me most is their work ethic, family values, respect for tradition, and self discipline. Their lives appear bucolic but under the surface it's hard work that makes their society appear serene. Although they keep to themselves, they are the first to help non Amish neighbors in need. They live their Christian faith. Like most of our ancestors Sunday is the one day of the week they do only basic chores after their church services are over. It is a day to visit relatives and socialize with their neighbors.

    • @peacebestillgaming3073
      @peacebestillgaming3073 Год назад +15

thats why you rarely or if anything, never will find them having mental issues like modern people. because they have tough will, discipline minds, and hearts full of love and connected to family. compared to people today , connected to billions and still don't know their neighbor's name. and here we have 1-2 kids and they wont even show up to visit once a year. these people visit even semi distant relatives regularly. sure there are disadvantages too in their lives but they avoid so much of our problems by being who they are.
i betcha they can all tell you what a woman is. something modern society can't define anymore.

tbh, that sounds like a great business opportunity to line up self sufficient farmers and people who want to learn. It preserves the time tested ways of doing things, while also giving people the confidence and skills they need to make it, no matter what happens.
We grew up on a farm with no running water and occasional electricity so we had to know how to preserve our own foods, so I guess we could hack it if we had to, but I feel like I don't remember enough to be really confident about it. I've never slaughtered livestock apart from fowls, so that would be a big, intimidating skill to learn because I don't remember exactly how it was done, but I do remember that time is of the essence once your cow is down, but that's about it.
I do know how to salt and smoke and cure meats, can pretty much everything, dry foods for storage and those things I actually did on the farm, but there's still a lot i don't know that I need to know.
If I could possibly get connected to a farmer nearby who would be willing to teach me all of this, that would be a massive boon because much of it is learned by doing and you can't really learn by not doing.

      Just like any other prophet,
Jesus prayed to one Almighty God who created this universe.
If you really love & follow Jesus,
      why you pray to trinity?
It clearly proves that truth isn't with you.
Jesus never told people to worship him instead of his God ( Creator).
Because worship is for God alone ( not trinity) which is the main teaching of Jesus.
If you worship virgin mother son instead of your everlasting creator,
you will receive hellfire in etertiny.
      I am not your enemy,
I just aware you sothat your afterlife will be secured.
Accept Messiah as prophet what he really was.
Your Only true God who created you from semen is enough powerful to save you.
Christian and hindues have faith on human god.
Both group beleive That God manifested as human which is paganism,
so both group will face same fortune in eternity.
True God never ever come in this earth by releasing woman's vagina.

People want this type of life without the "religious aspect" ...well that's where they get their way of life. I'm not taking about the legalistic ways they have. But the pure way they want their hearts and lives to stay and live. I'm a Christian but I'm not amish. They are christians and they are Amish. We have similar morals we follow and we both believe in the word of God. I believe you can be modest and wear pants and show your hair. They don't. But that's ok as long as they aren't being legalistic. Example, "if you do this and this and that, you'll go to heaven". Going to heaven isn't about good works. Going to heaven is about Jesus, his blood, His resurrection and our part of repentance.

Maybe it's just because most of these are younger (?) I have to laugh at some of the naive comments people make about them just on face value. I'd never be fool enough to believe that the Amish don't have as many problems as the rest of us out here in the real world, however. It's just that they keep separated and adhere to their own invented traditions, and God help the individual born among them who doesn't fit in. There are reasons why there are ex-Amish and ex-Mennonite groups.

@rptrm82 YOU idiot, some of the time people living the Amish life style feel restricted because of the values of Christianity. Especially people who r barley coming into the way of life or people who r by force they can be very un-happy with some of the “rules”. A lot of the rules and the Christian values r sexist and catered to the men.

    • @liddlemountain7245

@rptrm82 I'm a fan of many of their values. I'm not interested in their oppressive patriarchal beliefs or their morals set out by religion. You are incorrect by thinking a community that is self reliant, has limited outside world influences, community and family oriented and lives off the land is only achieved by being Christian or super religious. Indigenous communities around the world live similarly and are not religious. I grew up on a small Hippie community with only 600 people and we homeschooled, lived off the land, were interdependent and community oriented. That's and example of culture. So yes, I love that way of life AND you can have it without being religious or Christian. Also they immigrated here in the 1500s because they were not considered good Christians so it's totally irrelevant.
