Update: Groningen played Roda JC at home tonight. Roda lost 2-0 to Groningen. Talk about jinxing
And then lost to NAC Breda 8-1 on aggregate, while NAC finished 8th in the Dutch second division. They really threw those last games

There was no goal for Telstar at the end, not even a diallowed one. It is way worst than that... The Roda JC stadium speaker heard someone say that Telstar scored, didn't check, announced it, then heard it was diallowed, didn't check again, and then found out it was all a joke... He messed up in all the excitement! i do not blame him
Yes came here to say this hahah
Another plot twist: 1st place Willem 2 is only 1 point in front of Roda. Roda wins the title of they win and Willem loses. Willen's opponent? Telstar
Fun fact, the 2-1 at the end. The goal that was disallowed? It never even happened. The game just ended in 1-1
Yup, Zealand is sharing fake news, just like the stadion speaker of Roda JC
Apparently, from what I heard, Livescore (an app that gives the live score) made a mistake and showed it was 2-1.
the worst fake score prank ever lol
A Groningen fan here: what it even makes it more funny is that there wasn't even a disallowed goal. The stadium speaker of Roda JC got told that it was 2-1 and he couldn't check it, because "he had bad internet". So he announced it. When he got told that it ended 1-1 he was probably to embarrassed and announced it as a disallowed goal.
Schalke fan here. A good friend was there in the stadium in 2001 when we won the Bundesliga for the first (and only) time -- only to have it taken away from us 5 minutes later, as Bayern Munich scored a goal in extra time. Realizing that you've been celebrating too early is heart-breaking. To live through it twice in ten minutes is so cruel.
was just going to type something similar when I saw your comment lol
if I were a superstitious man I'd say that moment was when Schalke cursed themselves
By a dude whos only goal for the club from free kick
So huub knows what it feels like, poor man
@@aldouztek2784An indirect free kick in the penalty box after a back-pass!
Schalke... Poor man
Ah yes, childbirth and McDonald's. Two equal deliveries 😅
You might need to follow up this video! Groningen went through lol
lmao, that's worse than the Hamburg drama at the end of last season. Hamburg won, the fans already stormed the field, even the away stadium announcer already congratulated them for promotion, but the Game between Heidenheim and (my Club) Jahn Regensburg was still going on. Heidenheim had to win to get in 2nd for automatic promotion. Regensburg was up 2-0 after 55 minutes, through an own goal it was 2-1 after 60, then in the 93 minute Heidenheim gets a penalty to set it 2-2, before Tim Kleindienst scores the 2-3 in the 99th minute of overtime, sending Hamburg back down into 3rd place, giving Heidenheim the automatic promotion lol
HSV should have kept their stadium clock. They've shown once how to stay in a league for 50 years. I'm sure they can do it again!
Finishing 4th, 4th, 4th, 3rd, 3rd, 4th, and now probably 4th again, is a level of skill and precision that's beyond impressive.
tbh the situation with Hamburg was even worse last season, they did not end up getting promoted while Roda could still do it
Not only Hamburg, but in the third tier of Germany last year Osnabrück scored in the 94th and 96th minute to turn a 0-1 into a 2-1 and get directly promoted instead of Wiesbaden, whose fans where already celebrating and even announced promotion in the stadium, despite having to go through the play-offs
I just want to add that HSV continued to be unlucky even after that slip from 2. place the same season.
For anyone unaware, in Germany the third place of the 2. Bundesliga plays two matches, home and away, against the 16th place of the Bundesliga for promotion. HSV as third place had to play VfB Stuttgart from the Bundesliga with their relatively new coach Sebastian Hoeneß, the same guy who is now 2 points behind Bayern in third with guaranteed CL next season. He improved their style of play pretty quickly in the league foreshadowing what was going to come. Hoeneß took over a 18th place team with a 5 points gap between them and a non-relegation spot and led them to 16th.
Stuttgart at the end of the season legitimately looked like a well established mid table Bundesliga team when facing HSV giving them no chance (HSV with their offensive tactic didn't help themselves either but it was still really impressive). Top flight teams win these draws most of the time anyways but HSV facing Stuttgart in that moment was just an impossible task. I remember saying to my dad that Stuttgart will be comfortably around mid table next season without fear of relegation. Well, they made a couple of great signings and did even a lot better than I predicted. They also just beat Bayern 3:1.
What makes this even worse is, that Hamburger SV just shot their opponent SV Sandhausen into relegation and the Hamburger fans didn't let the Sandhausen team say goodbye to their fans.
There was no disallowed goal Z, don't know what the stadium speaker was smoking, but there was no goal after the 1-1
Was about to post this, the stadiumspeaker screwed up
The speaker was told it was 2-1 by someone. He wasnt able to check it bc there is no internet on the field. So he just went with it and improvised the disallowed goal
This is just like last season in the 2nd.Bundesliga where Hamburg were already celebrating promotion, just for Heidenheim to score in the 93rd and 99th minute to secure promotion and win the league.
I watched the game live as it happened, my buddy, who's a Hamburg fan really didn't take it that well 😂
“They’re Manchester United. They’ve just heard the news at the stadium of light.” Love it.
Remember a game (college American football) between Kentucky and LSU where Kentucky fans rushed the field only for everyone to realize there was a second left and LSU hits a like 80 yard Hail Mary. They'd already Gatorade'd the coach too. Freaking hilarious.
lmao
This happened in Spain in 2014. Playoff final was Las Palmas-Córdoba, 1st leg finished 0-0 in Córdoba, and in the 2nd leg Las Palmas were winning at home 1-0 in the 90+ minute. Some fans invaded the pitch with 1 minute remaining. After the match restarted, Córdoba scored to make 1-1 and got promoted on away goals.
I'll celebrate when you start running
No fan can be excused for celebrating early, after Bayern Leverkusen have scored so many late goals this very same season
Is this a merger of Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen? Well, yeah, Bayern has to win the Bundesliga, even if they don't win it!

Pogon is known to have no trophies, they are a top 5 team but absolutely 0 trophies. They are playing 2nd division side Wisla Krakow.
Wisla dominates the match but Pogon scores in the 75th
Referee adds 9 minutes, the match gets played and in the 90+8th everyone starts celebrating, beer is being thrown around the stands and the manager and reserve players are buzzing.
Then, Wisla scores in the 90+9th to go to extra time.
In extra time, Wisla scores in the 93rd minute to win the cup :O
Reminds me of Hamburg SV last year. Stormed the pitch in celebration but Heidenheim pulled an insane comeback to crush their dreams.

Hey, I work in one of the clubs in this division and what happens was that the "2:1" score from Telstar, never actually happened. The game Telstar vs Groningen, ended at 1:1. The Stadium speaker at Roda heard it from someone that Telstar has scored a second one and without thinking he just announced it to the whole stadium.
And now the play of system works is that: The Champion of the Keuken Kampioen Divisie (KKD - Eerste Divisie) is together with the second place automatically promoted to the Eredivisie. The third and final spot of the Eredivisie will be determined by the third through eighth placed teams* of the KKD, and the sixteenth placed from the Eredivisie.
The first round is played by the six KKD teams determined by the final standings of the season A: P3 vs P8 ; B: P4 vs P7 ; C: P5 vs P6. Each game is played home and away and the winner of the two games advances to the Semi-Final. The winner of A plays against the winner of B and the winner of C plays against the sixteenth placed of the Eredivisie. Also the semi-finals have two games, home and away.
The winners will face each other in the final, where once more there are two games.
The winner of the finals will be awarded with a place in the Eredivisie in the following season.
*All youth teams (Jong Ajax, Jong AZ, Jong PSV, Jong Utrecht) are not allowed to participate in the playoffs. If there should be a youth team placed in the top 8, the playoff spot will go to the next team in the standings.
The first thing I learned when I started watching football is “it isn’t over until the fat lady sings”, celebrating early is never a good idea lol!
Wait this same thing happend last year in the 2 Bundesliga when Hamburger SV won their last game to be on 66 points while Heidenheim were losing or drowing and the stadion ananuncer congratsulated HSV for promotion but in the final minutes Heidenheim won the match to finish on 67 points 1 point ahead of HSV and ahead of Darmstad with better goaldifference and HSV lost to promotion play-off to VfB Stutgard who are 3rd in the Bundesliga at the moment
So weird to hear Zealand talk about my team Groningen lol.
Your team is irrelevant
@@gus_100shut up - all clubs are relevant. That’s what makes football beautiful. Arjen Robben started his career at Groningen and I think he would say that they were relevant
@gus_100 your life is irrelevant
@@gus_100van dijk and robben started their senior careers there, plenty relevant. they’re probably more relevant than your team tbh
Doesn't it annoy you how badly he pronounces "Groningen"?
The real story: Groningen scored 1-1 in the 96th minute while the Roda JC fans were already celebrating promotion. They then heard about the goal being scored by Groningen, so slowly started to move off of the pitch again. A glitch in a score keeping app for mobile phones that is commonly used in The Netherlands then erroneously showed Telstar being up by 2-1 for about a minute. This last thing caused the Roda JC fans to celebrate a second time, thinking Telstar had scored. They never did though. The match between Telstar and Groningen ended in 1-1 without even as much as another shot after Groningen's goal. Why the stadium announcer at Roda JC said the goal had been disallowed is still a bit of a mystery afaik.
And in the last match against Groningen, Roda JC lost and didn't get promoted after all. They did get into the playoffs for promotion, but they lost their first match against NAC Breda 3-1.
The tough part is that a situation like that can be so exhausting that you completely lose your form.
Update for if you haven't followed. Groningen best Roda 2-0 to steal the promotion. With Roda getting their first shot at goal at already 60 minutes into the game.
so reminds me of schalke's five minute bundesliga win with everyone celebrating on the pitch while the bayern match was still going on and patrik anderson scoring the equalizer for bayern in like the 5948th minute to break the heart of an entire community with one stroke of the ball.. got similar vibes here tbh... but contrarily this one isn't over yet.. ^^
Don't forget that Hamburg, who had to win for Schalke to be promoted, had just scored in the 90th minute... The referee announced two minutes of extra time... and then Bayern equalized from an indirect free kick (which is such a rare occurance) in the 94th minute, two minutes after the match should have ended.
zealand stays giving me stories that i would´ve never heard of and im herefor it
I need a 10 minute video of Zealand speaking Dutch
...They lost 8-1 on aggregate in the first round of the playoffs after that 2-0 defeat to Groningen. Tough pill to swallow
The game is even more high pressure for Roda. They are only 1 point behind Willem II, so they could finish as League winners or out of automatic promotion on the last day
Just wait for the ultimate plot twist. What an amazing evening in the Eerste Divisie.
Oh, boy, my local team on Zealandism. Well done boys. This was a hilarious one.
Your little face watching the second batch of celebrations is hilarious
It wasn't even a disallowed goal, there was just never a 2-1. Somebody there straight-up duped the PA into announcing a phantom goal. The PA was even interviewed by the national broadcaster about how he f-ed up so badly, and he pretended it was just another day in the office and he couldn't double-check because of a bad WiFi connection.
BTW in case Groningen features again, the stress is on the first syllable (GRO-ning-en). 🤓
I love your attempts at Dutch.
Dutch is a bit like "drunk English seamen trying to speak German"... 😁
2 minutes and 36 seconds into the video - it is nice to see Jordan Henderson celebrating again in Holland.
The atmosphere at the game between Groningen and Roda was epic. That was a proper pitch invasion :)
Some people are on the pitch, they think it’s all over…….😂
So fun watching this live on television. Great vid keep it going.

FC Groningen mentioned on Zealandism? Did not know the day would come. Also, your Dutch interpretation was correct. As a Groningen fan, I feel so bad for Roda fans in that moment. On the other side, Roda fans have relentlessly mocked our relegation for months while they have been in the second division for almost 10 years now. I think a one-off winner takes all match is the only right way we are going to have to settle this. I am so excited for next week. Also, the goal was not disallowed, there was no goal. There was not even a tight moment in the match after we equalised. This just made the entire situation even more confusing.
If you’re interested in this kind of thing, you should check out the Jimmy Glass goal for Carlisle in 99.
Last game of the season, Carlisle need to win and need Scarborough to not win in order to stay up. Scarborough finishes 1-1 and their fans invade the pitch as they think they’ve survived. 94th minute at Carlisle, corner kick and the goalkeeper scores the winner to keep Carlisle up and send Scarborough down. That was the last time Scarborough in the league. Horrible moment for Scarborough, great for Carlisle and a fantastic footballing moment
I have been waiting for this Zealandism to come out ever since laughing my ass off watching Roda JC on friday.
Roda has some of the best fans, in the industrial and mining region of The Netherlands. If I were going to support a team in the Netherlands, it would absolutely be Roda JC. They deserve this promotion.
0 hour gang
Update, after they lost to Groningen they now have lost the first game of the plays offs aswell. 3-1 to NAC
Also, the goal wasn't disallowed. The stadium commentatorheard from Somebody sitting next to him said that it was 2-1 Telstar but the match was already over and also there was never another goal scored. The stadium commentator even had to give an interview because of this. He said that he should have verified if it was 2-1 and we have no idea how that person next to him thought it was 2-1 Telstar
the promotion playoffs work like this:
the teams that are included are the Number 16 of eredivisie and 3rd through 8th in the 2nd tier
currently it would include Excelsior, Groningen, Dordrecht, Ado Den Haag, De Graafschap, NAC Breda and FC Emmen
in round 1 is the turn of the 2nd tier sides
3rd - 8th
4th - 7th
5th - 6th
so currently it would be
FC Groningen - FC Emmen
FC Dordrecht - NAC Breda
ADO Den Haag - De Graafschap
winners go through to 2nd round where it is
Winner of DOR/NAC - Winner of GRO/EMM
Winner of ADO/GRA - SBV Excelsior (16th eredivisie)
the winners of those matches get to the final, winner of final gets the last eredivisie spot
potential finishing spots
16th in Eredivisie : RKC Waalwijk (28 points after 32 matches) /SBV Excelsior (26 points after 31 matches)*
*Excelsior play MD32 tonight
2nd tier: with one match to go

I'm honestly just happy people are talking about Roda JC, it's a funny moment in hindsight even if I was cringing a bit when I saw people running on the field. Either way looking forward to the match against Groningen!
Talking of promotion, the scenes at Portman Road yesterday were incredible players on our shoulders celebrating with fans
I can understand some of that commentary and it's hilariously tragic 😂
Even more funnier: the so called disallowed goal wasn't even there. It was an error of the stadium speaker 😂
Funniest thing is that telstar didnt even score. The stadium speaker just made the 2-1 up.
I think it was Lullojo a couple of years ago who even got a championship celebration with Dortmund in FM and then finished second lol.

That video is funny because it literally happend last season in the Second Bundesliga where hamburg won its game at the last day and celebrating promotion because Heidenheim was on a losing end of a 2:1 only to win in extra time 2:3 And got promoted.
Roda lost 8-1 on aggregate to Z's journeyman club NAC!!
Anyone know what streaming service to watch that winner take all match on in the US?
Roda JC would actually not be the most likely play off winner if they have to play play offs. The most likely winner would be Excelsior, who are 16th in the Eredivisie. They have to fight to stay. If they lose the play offs, they go down.
It ain't over till it's over. They had to learn this the hard way.

So just checked, they lost 8-1 on Aggregate to NAC Breda in a 2 leg promotion playoff. Like how do you ever recover as a fan, player and club after what's happened them over a 2 week spell
pretty sure that this happened in 2001 div 3 in england, scarborough finished their game to survive (or so they thought) and leyton get relegated, then JIMMY GLASS (a FUCKING GK) scored in the 97TH MINUTE and eon the match (scarborough went on to go defunct in non league)
Where can i watch that finao game between roda and groningen?

Yeah so apparently both Livescore and the Google thing messed up. It already happened at the 2-0 for Roda JC. At that point both Livescore and Google suddenly said that it was 0-0 again. It happened from the 85th minute onwards, also with another game, Jong-AZ vs MVV. It was 3-2 and it showed 1-2 again. It's not really anyone's fault.
They just fumbled promotion play-offs 😭😭😭
omg that has to suhuhuhuck so bad.
I had not realised how good teams are in the Dutch 2nd tier: Groningen, Den Haag, De Graafschap, Breda, Venlo and Cambuur.
The goal wasn't disallowed, it didn't happen at all. Someone near the stadium speaker said it they scored, and he announced it. He then decided to claim it was disallowed
That's why MSL will never been taken seriously. Relegation and promotion are the soul of any league!!!

From the future: Roda lost to Groningen 2-0 so Groningen got automatically promoted!! 😂😂
I don't know why but Flashscore says that Roda has already achieved promotion even though their goal difference is worse than Groningen's and they are playing against each other on the final matchday, as you said.

still in their hands, all they need to do is not lose to Groningen, also still possible for them to win the 2nd division outright.
I knew it was Roda JC after seeing the title (I'm a Dutchie)🤣
i live VERY close to roda JC stadion and my friend was even in the crowd that day. the speakers said that telstar scored the 2-1 and even the live commentators said they did. its a celebrate to early moment but if youre being honest if you are in the same situation you wouldve done the same. i certainly would haha
right, except there never was any 2-1, the game ended after Groningen equalized, some players got yellows card for celebrating too much and that's it final whistle was blown a minute later, what going on? Did announcer in Roda stadium really say Telstar scored another?
Fun fact the telstar gk is the son of ronald koeman
And in the end we didn't get promoted... To be honest, I'm a Roda fan, but with the way we played in the last game against Groningen, we don't deserve to get promotion anyway. So I want to congratulate FC Groningen with their promotion, you outclassed us by a big margin
