    Profesor at 3:06 you mentioned do not go flat. Can you explain why is this a mistake?

    • @Danoftheconda
      @Danoftheconda Месяц назад

      I think the side to side motion is very important in controlling your opponent. If you're flat on your back, you have next to no space to move. It pretty much makes the lasso null and void

    Professor, is there a good option to the lasso sweep which you can do when the opponent steps on your leg and traps it? I am able to get the sweep but they turn towards me and sometimes I lose the advantage that I created.

    on the first sweep i can never get on people in my gym. i can never break down their base with hip turn. Is there anything I might be missing.

    • @SuperLastkick
      @SuperLastkick 8 месяцев назад

      I would say that you need to have a very solid grip with your elbow tight to your hip (a really good lasso structure). then yes clearly if the opponent expects it he will prepare a strong posture. In general, always try to hide your intentions.

  • @Mus4shi15
    @Mus4shi15 8 месяцев назад

    I always thought I had to square up the hips for a tighter lasso, but apparently that’s wrong :/. Why is it wrong though?

  • @Jetsi8
    @Jetsi8 10 месяцев назад +1

    Purple belt here, I have trouble playing lasso. Guys in my gym know now I am going for this sweep, so they will put their weight extra far such that I am unable to switch the hip for this lasso sweep. They end up in my side control and even though I have the opposite side lasso, eventually I need to let it go. Anyone know how to prevent this?

    • @jakecole1078
      @jakecole1078 6 месяцев назад

      Blue belt here. You can reach through with the offside arm and pull on the tricep to get a bicep slicer. It works best with shallow lasso, but once you trap the hand you can adjust it. You can also let go of the lasso grip to pull the shoulder to you to increase the pressure. It kind of catches people off guard so obviously go slow. They will stop sitting to side control while you have lasso if you catch them a few times.

    Why is going flat in lasso bad?

    • @zivdarko
      @zivdarko 2 месяца назад

      No leverage, sweep comes from hips
