The back take would be my preferred option. Over loading the knee could be potentially dangerous. Also the back take is a better option than the sweep anyway. Roger moves work for Roger because it’s Roger doing it. The basic reverse scrimp sweep is nice and fundamental and safer but creating a back take dilemma will increase your success rate.
yeah. it's a little weird on the knee. i stopped adding any shin pressure "twist" to the motion until the guy is airborne. less leverage... but much less stress on the knee.
I love variations of that first wing sweep into paper cutter choke if you scoop around the arm as you sweep.
Great lesson coach
Will be trying these for sure! Thank you
Awesome sweeps.

Lovely
off topic: nice gi's are they available to buy online?
Popped my knee at purple doing that same move. Never again
lol that's what exactly went through my mind with that move. it does not look healthy or safe.
I see how that can happen. I guess you just have to feel for the leverage prior to doing it
Feel like that’s pretty avoidable if you lift weights and have strong legs

You must be the world’s worst black belt to pop your knee doing a hip related move.
