    I competed yesterday and my opponent was staying really tight while in my closed guard. I usually play lasso (thanks to your videos) but couldn’t make space to get my game going. This shoulder crunch could have helped for sure, going to be drilling this for the next few weeks. Thank you for this, your teaching style really resonates with me!

      YES if they stay tight on you or you open holing both sleeve put your Shallow lasso push his shoulder away and play lasso or you do this one the Shoulder Crunch. Anyways Thank you for watching BIG OSS

    At my humble opinion, this set of techniques should be learnt at the very first lessons of the close guard curriculum (a blue belt from Russia)

    Excellent technique as usual Professor. I agree that professor Marcelo Garcia was the first to use the shoulder crunch I remember watching him early 2000s doing shoulder crunch and butterfly sweeps when no one else was. Oss 🥋

    Thx for this great video! I would love to see a video on details about making the shoulder crunch tight so it is difficult your opponent to twist the arm free, as well as on the reverse arm bar from the shoulder crunch. Also, congrats to Mat on his new belt! BIG OSS

    Just by coincidence, I've been hitting this shoulder crunch in close guard, but I did not think about the butterfly hook. This video was easy to follow, I will put this into practice tomorrow! I will add it to my closeguard attack tool set.

    professor all ur technique are super useful and details. I am working on the lasso guard i like to sweep from butterfly but i am a very short person with short legs (5"2, ~100lbs new blue belt) i have hard time to hold my lasso with bigger size partners. Btw i start saving all ur video!
