I agree Stephen A. I worked as an Officer and an Agent in Law Enforcement for 28.5 years. I've seen this type of Cop/Agent/Sheriff during my tenure. Believe it or not, I've had my run in with these types of Cops while on duty and off. I had many a personal confrontation with them even to the point of almost throwing blows. I had an incident when i was covering a 2nd year officer (I was in my 8th year) searching a suspect (suspect was like 6'4 245 and Ripped) and the officer was just talking shit and demeaning this guy. The Searching Officer is like 5'8 160 Lbs soaking wet and i'm 6'1, 210 and in decent shape. The search didn't yield anything out of the ordinary and the suspect was sent on his way. afterward, I told the Officer, "I bet if you didn't have a gun and a badge that you wouldn't have the heart to speak to that guy like that. I said, "Don't let that badge and that gun get your ass whipped".

1) yes, his parking was egregiously illegal
2) yes, he had his hands in his pockets
But, if you think you can actually argue this one? You’re just plain wrong. He got taken down and tased... he was calm, collected, and had no ill-intent in his particular infraction. It was probably a really cold Winter day and he had his hands in his pockets for a pretty good time before it was an issue, if the police felt in danger he wouldn’t of let Brown keep his hands there for so long and if Brown was genuine threat and had a weapon why would he not use it before backup came?

If it wasn’t a NBA Player who violated parking laws, this situation could have easily gone unnoticed. If Milwaukee PD is known for being racist, why do anything to jeopardize rights in the first place by acting shady in the first place? If the NBA player took a second to respect disabled Americans, he would have seen that the Walgreens parking lot had ample amount of spaces, just a few seconds away. By acting stupid, he caught the cops’ attention. Yes the cops could have been more diplomatic and courteous, but the arrestee wasn’t the most amiable nor cooperative person either. It’s not simply a parking violation. He illegally and disrespectfully infringed upon the rights of his fellow disabled American citizens. Had he been law abiding, none of this would have caught any attention.

Actually there was more that sterling could have done to defuse the situation by not putting his hands in his pockets or not being sarcastic. He lacked the diplomatic intelligence to survive and be “right” later.
