- Today I do some more sight adjustment on the Ruger Wrangler. I have never turned a barrel on a revolver before. Thanks for watching Please subscribe.

It is pretty easy to twist or spring a revolver frame using your method, even with a steel frame. Of course the Wrangler frame is aluminum. A sprung frame will show itself by affecting cylinder chamber alignment with the barrel. If that has happened, you will get flyers like you experienced. A round hammer handle is about the worst thing to use. A better way is to use a barrel vise and a frame wrench with correctly shaped inserts that support the frame. Hopefully the frame hasn't been twisted. You can check each chamber alignment with a range rod, but you can also do the job fairly well with a strong light in from the side while looking down the bore. The cleaner the chambers and bore are, the better. Good luck.
Thanks for the great comment I will check it out for sure. I hope I didn't twist the frame. I was surprised how poor the groups were. I do have days like that once in a while. It is still shooting better than it was. Thanks for watching
Great video, Chris. I used a rosin bag like pictures use and dusted the barrel contact area of the blocks. It makes them real "sticky".
Thanks I didn’t think about using rosin that is a good idea.
Awesome! I’m glad it worked. If your barrel works loose, you can always loc-tite it.
I’ll have to check my heritage again this spring. It might be slightly off yet. If it is, I’ll try this method. I was told by a college instructor that in order to grow, you sometimes need to go outside of your comfort zone and I think he was right. You weigh your risk vs reward. I wouldn’t attempt that on an original Colt, but a $175 .22 pistol, it’s not going to hurt “too much” if you mess up.
True enough. This was outside my comfort zone for sure. I do love Loc-tite I am glad it worked
In the future, on a painted-finish gun like this, just add JB weld to one side of the sight to cure left or right bias. Alternately, you can add layers of aluminun tape. The front sight is very skinny. There is plenty of room to add material on either side
That’s a great idea. Thanks for the comment
Wow! Great video and good information!👍🏽😀❤️🇺🇸
Thanks Jeff
Really great video! Well done 💯 Thanks for sharing 🍻
Thanks for the kind words and thanks for watching
Good job Chris - I would have been sweating b b's too - but it worked...
Thanks I am glad it worked too. Thanks for watching
That .22 won’t spook your horse as much either if you ever had to shoot from the saddle compared to a big bore revolver, not to mention easier on the horse’s ears. Great video, thanks
Thank you for the kind words. I feel like it’s a good training tool for the horses. Thanks for watching
Awesome video
Thanks
I think wooden barrel blocks are usually hardwood but looks like you got it anyway. Too bad the gophers and rattlesnakes are hiding out now. C'monnn....spring! Thanks for the vid!
Yes I am ready for spring. Thanks for watching
Thanks, good video

Great to see that you got it dialed in and didn't break the alloy frame.
How far are you shooting with the target?
25 yards I am glad I didnt break anything too Thanks for watching
1. Did you check the cylinder gap for change?
2. You said something about turning the grip counter clockwise but I couldn’t get that, did it turn or not?
3. Missed if you said what the shooting range distance was & why so few shots per group?
No I didnt check the gap. Yes the frame did rotate. I always shoot 3 shot groups at 25 yards. Thanks for watching
I admire your "do it yourself" attitude, but when it comes to Ruger I would send it to them first and at least give them a chance to fix it. Who knows, if they couldn't get it right they might just send you a new gun thst shoots closer to point of aim. But a great video anyway.
I do take pride in fixing things myself. I have built 4 houses for myself and 1 for my son. You are correct about sending it to Ruger I am sure they would have taken care of it. Thanks for watching
Wouldn’t bending the front sight just slightly work just as well?
Yes but I had to go farther than what I could get by bending the sight. Thanks for watching
You are absolutely not supposed to us the old stick a axe handle in the frame hole to turn the barrel as it can bend the frame. You are supposed to make ore purchase a jig to clamp the frame top and bottom in parallel.
Thanks I have learned that after the fact. I don't I damaged this gun but I will never do this again. You might like my other channel 10 cow ranch Small cattle and farming operation. Thanks for watching
