I am so sorry for your loss. My dad passed in 2021…not a day goes by I don’t think of him, I even started carrying some of his tools. I still have him on my trucks favorite contact screen. Glad you’re back! One of my favorite channels!
Great video. Great little revolver. Had one in blue years ago. There was a gun forum in a big town nearby that I joined. We decided to rent a range for a get together. I had the Tracker 44 Magnum with me and had not fired it yet. Had a box of Winchester full loads with 240 gr bullets. I always test a new gun with factory ammo first before using handloads. One of the events that day was a 50 foot accuracy test with a round target slow fire, any hand gun. I decided to try the Tracker. Right out of the box, I shot 5 tens and won the match. Sights were right on. I have been shooting the 44 Magnum since 1972. The Tracker had the least recoil of any revolver I ever had. The ports and grip work! My idea was to use the little revolver as a 44 Special field gun. With the Keith load velocity was 985 fps and the Skeeter load went 840 fps. Covers 95% of what you might want to do with a revolver. Keep up the good work. I am in WV now. There are a number of revolvers with shorter cylinders where the Keith bullets are too long. If you want to use his bullets, check this out before you buy.
I really liked it except for the shorter cylinder. That can be worked around very easy. I was a little supervised about the felt recoil. My jacketed loads are pretty hot. The gun is accurate for sure
I'm sorry to hear about your father, please accept my condolences. With the Keith bullets you could seat them deeper in the magnum cases and crimp over the front band, maybe lighten the load just a little bit to start with. Or if you are happy with under 1000 fps you could load them in .44 special brass and get that velocity.
My condolences once again for the loss of your father. I’m glad to see you back at i5 making videos. I have been looking at one of those Trackers myself. Half the price of the 629. It would make a good trail gun. I bet you could seat those Keith bullets a tad deeper and use a slight taper crimp and it would work fine. Do you use a gas check in those magnum loads?
I don't load the cast bullets past 1000 fps. I think you are right about the seating depth on the Keith bullets. If I didn't; already have a 629 I would buy one of these Taurus 44's. Thanks for your kind words about my dad.
I picked up a black one cheap awhile back cause I had sold my 629 back during the pandemic for more than I bought it for new. I thought it’d be absolutely brutal recoil because it was a lot lighter than the 629 but cause of the magnaporting and the cushy rubber grips it really wasn’t as bad as I thought. 👍🏻
Just shoot your Kieth Bullets in 44sp. You can load 44sp pretty hot if you want power. Sorry to hear of your loss. Glad your family and yourself are getting better. I would be curious of the cylinder length measurement between the Taurus and the S&W. I am amazed that Taurus would have it so short.
Sorry for your loss. If it does not have to be a double action, how about a Ruger Blackhawk. My Blackhawk's love the 240-250gr. Keith's style bullets. I shoot both 5" and 7.5" models. BTW both models love the 44 special.
I am so sorry to hear of your loss. My dad is my best friend and I can’t imagine being without him. I have this gun on order. It is my first revolver. I have shot alot of magnums over the years. I was wondering what range you recommend sighting this gun in at? Again, I am sorry for your loss and wish your family the best.
Thank you for your kind words about my dad. I would sight in at 25 yards. These have good accuracy potential. I do a ton reloading for the 44 mag. The problem with the factory stuff is most of it is full power. This revolver is a bit smaller and will kick you pretty hard with full power loads. For everyday shooting the 44 special are quite pleasant. Good shooting
I ordered 44 mag and 44 spl loads. Maybe later I will start reloading for 44. Right now I just reload 45acp and rifle loads. I am new to your channel and look forward to seeing your other content.
@@kylefreemason Thanks for the positive feedback Kyle. If you are loading for the 45 acp you will enjoy loading for the 44 mag. You might like my other channel 10 cow ranch Small cattle and farming operation.
I have the same revolver, and I love it, however there is something about the gun that is bothering me and I hope is fixable, after I shoot, the shell cases get stuck in the cylinder and I have to use players to remove them. The gun is new, I have shot only 40 rounds. Can anyone tell me why is very hard to get the shells out of the cylinder??? Thank you and greetings from Anchorage Alaska USA.
@@FernandoDuarte-xb6lf that is very interesting for sure are you using factory ammo? I think that what you may have is some rough cylinder walls if it was me, I would take some triple lot steel wool put it on a cleaning eye and a drill and use and little little bit of oil and polys stole cylinder walls. Sorry for the bad spelling. I’m speaking into my phone and I’m bailing hay. You should check out my other channel 10 Cow Ranch.

When you have a charging brown bear I’d rather the recoil come straight back and not have the big muzzle flip for sure! 👍🏻😏
The tracker 44mag is great for mountain hiking! 👍🏻
I know how u feel bub , sorry for your loss 👍🇺🇸
Check your barrel. Only about 3 inches. The barrel stops where the ports start
I think you are correct I hadn't thought about that. Thanks for the great comment

I was surprised to about the cylinder length. The 44 special is a great fit for that gun. Thanks for watching

Sorry about your dad.....The 44 mag is a great caliber with a ton of loads out there.
Thanks I do love 44's
Try a mike screen
Trigger pull needs to be lighter , u never said how far u were shooting , barrel length and wind matter also. 🤷
25 yards the wind does matter it harder for sure
I have them that model of gun. The best thing you can do for it is by the hogue mono rubber grip. Great gun great!
