I have a Hi-Point JXP10mm and I have zero problems with it. It shoots well and after oiling it only, I have had zero problems with it. To this point, I have no need to purchase another 10mm weapon because my Hi-Point does the job for $200! I even put a red dot on it and got a free extra mag!

@matthewotis3594 Yes, they do, but you can live with that. You can just spray cleaner and lubricant into the barrell and action and then just run cleaning patches through the gun. They can go along time between take downs.
@CBRuRedE1 not so far. 2100 rounds down the pipe. It did have a little break in period in the beginning but after about 150 rounds it has ha zero malfunctions
I have a high point 45acp that's been under my boat seat for many years! Never cleaned, just a quick spray of lube every so often. Never had an issue, always 100% reliable.
He called the hi point the taurus towards the end of the shooting segment, for anyone confused…so it was the hi point that shot better/had less recoil, the taurus shot like a pile of slop and the petruding mag release buttons caused him to drop the mag twice while shooting. Have never had to send one in for repairs, can’t say that about some higher end (vs taurus anyways) brands *COUGH SIG COUGH*.
Say what you will on hi point (disclaimer, I don't own one). At a high end range in Houston, they sold out quickly on the JXP10 and can't keep them in stock. I guess it's a gateway 10
For the money difference, I'd be plenty happy with the hi point. It's a tool, it performs and you can still afford a can of dip and have enough left to take the wife out.
Man you try shooting in thay weather without gloves. Best type of adrenaline simulation yku could do is try to be accurate after soaking your hands in a bucket of ice water for 10 seconds
Let's say you are in the woods on a hike. I say the Taurus is going to be better than just about every other pistol in 10mm. Its hammer fired so if, IF the round doesn't go off you can pull the trigger again. It has a safety that lets you carry hammer down. You don't have to thumb the hammer to do it. You don't have to worry about taking the safety off. The TH10 is going to be the new kind of 10mm pistols
@@ChukesOutdoorAdventures LOL, I think that's why hammer fired guns with decockers are the way to go. They are safer to carry, in my opinion. They make great dry fire training guns too
The HiPoint was my 1st 10mm, and I reload 40 S&W, so all I really needed was brass. Mine is unbelievably accurate and, like many have stated, has proven to be 100% reliable. Bought a XDM Elite OSP, and although it is a superior firearm (with a FANTASTIC trigger!) I don't regret the JXP purchase in the least. P.S. The comment above regarding the benefits of a double/single action pistol with a hammer is exactly why the FTX & CZ75 are two of my favorites!
I sent my last two Taurus handguns back to the factory for repair. The revolver was so bad out of the box, Taurus told me they would have to destroy it and send me a new one because the frame was so out of spec....6 weeks now, nothing. Two of my friends have HiPoints and they work fine.
I have the Taurus TH-9 and the Highpoint JXP-10. I enjoy them both but I don't believe I will be getting another 10mm. Thanks for the video and keep shooting 👍.
Wonder if Mcarbo or someone else will make upgraded trigger, mag release, and safety/decocker levers for the Taurus? I hops so, because I plan to buy one.
I really respect your opinion, and I know that the amby safety adds more width, that reduces your ability to carry it well concealed. However, many people carrying a 10 mm, including yourself, will be doing so for protection in the woods. In that case it's extra important to be able to have a gun you can use with either hand because you never know if an (or which) arm might be disabled during a bear, cougar, wolverine, wolf, dog or moose attack. You probably want a gun with safety controls you can reach with either hand easily if four-legged animals are your foe. And for the same reasons, for deep woods protection you probably ought to be practicing ambidextrous handling skills anyway? I see it as a trade-off decision between concealed carry versus deep woods carry. This gun favors deep woods carry. For as inexpensive as the part is, they should consider including one left only, and one right only replacement safeties, in addition to the amby safety that should come fully installed already.
How can you even suggest the Taurus when the magazine has fallen out twice on you? That is a huge problem you are just ignoring. No way I would trust a gun with the magazine falling out!
It didn’t just fall out he hit the release with some trigger time he would be familiar enough to prevent it from happening. That is why he wasn’t too concerned
I recently purchased the TH 10 as well. It’s an excellent firearm and accurate… only complaint I have is my magazine fell out a few times as well. now I’m not sure if it’s my finger hitting it or if it’s just the recoil… if it’s my finger hitting it, I was wondering if I should take a Dremel tool and shave down one side of the ambidextrous magazine release button… I’d really hate to do that. I almost wish they made one that you could install for which side you use the most… so this is my thought process all of a sudden you’re in the woods possible bear attack happens you shit your pants and you pull your weapon fire one round and magazine falls to the ground now you’re screwed… what’s your thoughts on this?.
I wasn't aware that Hi-point made a 10mm until now, I've been waiting to see some more testing on the Taurus, I have a G series compact Taurus and It has not had any issues, and does everything well, I use it and the 357-Magnum as EDCs and rotate them, so far so good, THX for posting. 🇺🇸
My hi point .45 was reliable and accurate. I dont claim to be a world class pistol shot but that high point made me look good. It was a good truck pistol. Just my experience. Thanks for the video.

I just do not understand people ,what would you rather have ,something reliable but less fancy, or something fancy, but will fail you when you most need it? The look on his face when that mag dropped from that Taurus was priceless!

I’m sorry guys this is my opinion
Wow, that Hi point does what it's supposed to. Maybe you can file down the mag buttons on the taurus a bit to keep the mag from being released accidentally.
HiPoint 1cm Yeet Blaster. Put a light on it and it becomes the light shining in the Frankenstein Place... or in the woods where if you drop it in a river you won't cry too much.

The taurus th10 is better than my sig xten, it doesnt bulge brass with nuclear loads like my sig does, it cycles every time, and i can load all 15 rounds in the taurus mag and seat it on a closed side. The mag is falling out because chuke doesnt know how to grip a gun apparently lol
@hoodsta_Pizzo yes I have the original full size xten. Love the grip, hate the mag problems, and it's under sprung for full power 10mm, not an issue if you don't reload but I hate it because it bulges the heck out of my brass. My xdm10 on the other hand runs it fine and doesn't destroy brass. For an $800+ gun the SIG should have been flawless
You can afford to have both pistols, and a 10mm HiPoint carbine. It would be nice if Taurus came out with a 10mm carbine that used the TH10 15 shot magzines.
People can talk shit on High Point all they want (but they are reliable) with any gun it's usually a magazine issue if they're unreliable, but the warranty like Hi-Point has lifetime warranty of the life of the gun even if it changes hands, is unbeatable and the 10 mm they came out with are way better, none have blown up in peoples hands like other more expensive brands. I've shot a lot of different high points and yes they are awkward and ugly but from my personal experience they are reliable once they're broke in, you either have to work that slide a bunch or you have to go shoot the fucking thing but when it comes it will be reliable if you shoot it.
You’re going to whine about one inexpensive magazine? I thought about the Taurus, because I’ve had good luck with their revolvers, and had the opportunity to try out a TX10 at the range. I too dropped the mag, the ambi safety was not kind to the web of my hand, and it had awful muzzle jump. About a week later I shot the JXP10. Yes, it’s heavy. Yes, it’s not “pretty”, but the last time I looked, “pretty” doesn’t stop a threat. With a small brake on the JXP10, the weight and the barrel length made it shoot like a moderately-light .45ACP - IOW, great. I don’t use that for EDC, since it has a red dot and a brake, and is large, but I do take it to my wood shop (Hi-Points are almost completely immune to dirt and sawdust) and I trust it as much as a Glock or Springfield Armory. I can shoot it better on the range than either of those, too - it’s very accurate and muzzle rise is minimal. I still like Taurus revolvers, but I’ve never shot one of their semis that was worth a bucket of warm pee.
The mag capacity limitation of the Hi-Point is irrelevant in states limited by their ill-informed elitist Brahmins in the state legislature (like in Rhode Island) who think that an 11th shot from a magazine triggers global warming and extinction of the dinosaurs. Certainly, the very low cost is highly attractive; even if it were possible to bring the Taurus price down, it wouldn't be allowed to be sold to the obedient little sheep in Rhode Island, so for those - as you say - who just want to experience the 10 mm, it's the go-to way to do so. I also, in checking, see that Hi-Points on the used market still command a High price Point (Hmm - is there a message there?) so it's possible to buy one, use it a bit, get a feel for whether or not it's your cup of tea, and then roll it over if not, without risking more than a couple of ten-spots. That's actually a pretty cheap rental, looked at another way. Hi-Point also has a carbine that takes 10 mm and shares magazines - basically, the pistol in carbine form - giving you the vaunted same-caliber rifle-pistol combo to take afield. It's an interesting offering that I keep thinking about. Thanks for the comparison and the video. Well done.
Dont let the JXP10 fool you. Its frame is cheaply made plastic that most dollar store toy pistols are made of and thats what you get for the price. Now when it comes to slinging lead down range, ive surprised people at the range during matches, especially when I tell them that it only costs a little more than the aftermarket barrel I bought for my Glock 20. Th10 is next in line for me.
Well now this is a interesting video and a very interesting comparison. Hi-Point pistols have always been clunky Bulkey and just plain ugly. However, they have always been reliable and they go bang every time. So if only the high point fits your budget then I would say you are probably going to be well-armed.

The Hi Point is like wanting to get fine art for your home and settling for "Dogs Playing Poker". The Taurus is a well made handgun but the Hi-Point looks like a gun designed by an 8 year old. No comparison.

The taurus is an excellent 10mm. Runs like a champ out of the box. I like the DA/SA a lot too.......
Any issues with the ambidextrous mag release?

Well done.
When did Mr. Bean start doing gun reviews?
Dont let the JXP10 fool you. Its frame is cheaply made plastic that most dollar store toy pistols are made of and thats what you get for the price. Now when it comes to slinging lead down range, ive surprised people at the range during matches, especially when I tell them that it only costs a little more than the aftermarket barrel I bought for my Glock 20. Th10 is next in line for me.
Interesting thanks for the info!
5:21 it's the better of the two the magazine keeps falling out but it's the better of the two...
Perhaps we should Define "better" better
Taurus easy to take a part and clean hi point hard to take down. I would go with hi point cheap and reliable good warranty
I want an HP with a drum mag, silencer and lazer . I want to feel like Buck Rodgers.
Well now this is a interesting video and a very interesting comparison. Hi-Point pistols have always been clunky Bulkey and just plain ugly. However, they have always been reliable and they go bang every time. So if only the high point fits your budget then I would say you are probably going to be well-armed.
I have a hi point jxp10 no problems great gun no recoil can beat it taurus sux
Yep
Ill take the TH10. High point need some moder tech to start make guns lighter
Taurus definitely over the hi point
No brainer, indeed!
I'm thinking hipoint
Its a good gun i have one 0 issues!😊
Nope the Taurus mag dropped itself i saw that. So taurus got issues but hi point is cheap and reliable ill take hi point
Chuke please try changing your grip to thumbs tucked like you would shoot a revolver, thumbs forward is not working for ya

Way less recoil with the Hi Point because it's heavier....
Great video as always but not a fan of taurus or hi point.
Hold on bro. How tf your magazine pop out tho ?🤣🤣
My highpoint jams every 3rd round
i like high point but taurus holds more both cheaper than sig & ria.
The TH10 seems a league above the Hi Point.
The Hi Point is like wanting to get fine art for your home and settling for "Dogs Playing Poker". The Taurus is a well made handgun but the Hi-Point looks like a gun designed by an 8 year old. No comparison.
Yea, but the HIPOINTS will save your life. I think that they are very good.
the taurus is not 'cheap'...it is only a bit less than a Glock 20. the hi point is so massive I cannot see it being seriously considered by many people
Good points…G20 is 500 to 650 usually, so people can save a couple hundred
Taurus wins at the tac reload lol
Yep…
Just let it blow huh 3:53 😂
Doh!
I love high point it maybe ugly but you can abuse it
