    Copper washer blown under the injector.
    When replacing injectors, it is best to slightly mill the injector socket

    Had the same problem on my '02 td6 HSE, turned out or be 2 dirty injectors that needed to be replaced... quite pricey

    Did you find out what cause that ticking noise? Is it timing chain?

    i got same but small noise at cold, where does it come from, hope it s not the timing chaine

    I have the same problem as you on my E60 530d 218HP. It all started as a result of wiping the injectors. Although now sounds less still making noise, especially when cold. The worst thing is not knowing where it comes from the fucking noise

    I have a similar problem -first car didn't star then change the injectors it's start and run for one day after day drive hard to star now and all car is vibrating course of engine (didn't run smooth) and smokes from exhaust. Think that's injectors so i change them over and over with used ones some times for 3-5min run like should then again smokes vibrating.
    Any advice will help thanks

    Hi! Did you find the problem? my injectores are tested and reconditioned too and now i have same sound/noise
    maybe problem was in piston/crankshaft shells ?

    If somthing changes with the the injectors, it will be put trouh the the diagnostic programme. I am guissing, but software might help a lot.

    It's very common with 4.4 engine my guss is the variable valve timing same as vanys on bmw ,

    The noise is related to timing chains. Both chains and tensioners need replacing. A labour intensive job unfortunately. Min 18 hrs + parts. Something to watch for particularly after 100k miles
