Pulling out the read-alouds that aren't as historical to save for the summer is genius! I'm doing Sonlight this year after about 6 years of a Sonlight hiatus, and I'm overwhelmed! I'm so glad I watched this!
I recently found your channel and I so appreciate how detailed you are and how you explain all of those details and moving parts. This is exactly what my personality needs! :) I’ve never called come across another hs channel that does this and it really is helpful to me to see another mom who thinks similarly to myself and it really boosts my confidence! I feel we are kindred spirits! :) Amazing job on your channel, you are awesome! Wishing you and your kiddos a very, very blessed school year!
I love this video…don’t know how I missed it last fall. I should’ve waited two weeks until we finished this year’s curriculum to watch it though 😅 I’m so excited to plan for the next school year now!
Ive been planning right along side you! All I have left is to put together my kids work binder, prep some materials, and look through the first few weeks of readings! I'm excited for this school year too!
We’re starting our first year homeschooling this fall! I prepped most of my curriculum this past spring while I was pregnant with baby #2. That was some GOOD planning on my part because I can’t imagine trying to get it all done now with a 2 month old who doesn’t always nap well 😂
How soon will your planner video come out? I just received mine and I'm so excited to get started! Do you put the whole planner in one binder or separate it out with the first 6 weeks of the planner with the 6 weeks of lesson plans?
Next Monday! I keep the planner on a shelf and just pull in a few months and put those in the front of my "working binder" that holds my instructor guide notes :)
Here is a RUclips video where Julie explains it! The resources I watched were within the Brave Learner Home - so I can't link those. ruclips.net/video/sI0OomHKjPo/видео.html
When do you set aside time each week /month to plan / prep ahead? Is that during your kid's enrichment day? I feel like I'm at a loss for when to fit it in. My kids are on the wait list for one of the few co-ops in our area. I'm praying they can get in.
I do use the labels, but I don't label the readers since those could fluxuate between the levels. As for planning, I typically plan weekly on Saturday afternoons and then I set one Saturday morning per month aside for monthly planning. That is also why I spend more time in the summers to set myself up as well as I can :)
I have a question. I did see your setup for how you put the kids work binders together…but when you switch out the weeks to put the new weeks in where do you put there finished work?
I was wondering if you had any experience with Sonlight’s Discover and Do Videos for science? I am planning on using Bookshark but thought that the videos looked great. However I was wondering if there was any religious content in the videos?
Hiya, I was just wondering, you said you’re going to do 1 chapter per week with your twins on one specific day. I’m doing Bookshark world cultures and the literature part is about 1 -2 chapters a day. Are you planning on doing 5-10 chapters on 1 day? 😮 sorry, I love your videos, but thought I need to point out just in case. 😊
Haha, I was kind of thinking of doing that … but I felt like it would be closer to 4-5 chapters a week (we do the 4-day program) that we could potentially knock out while waiting for sister. My twins have grown up listening to chapter books and are pretty good at sitting for them - but my plan is to hold it loosely, we could also finish the chapters at bedtime 😊
Yes fair enough. 😊 I'm sure you'll be fine either way, you know what you're doing! I've followed you for the past 3 years, since we decided to homeschool, and you were the one introducing me to literature based learning. Thank you so much! Since I love books, my children love books. I love you're channel. And also, I love those planning videos, I love planning haha😊😅

So glad it was helpful ... I'm actually planning a video next month on tips to not feel overwhelmed with Sonlight :)
Hearing your kids is a joy!

I'm so glad it is helpful ... sometimes I wonder if it is too much and people don't care to know exactly what I'm thinking :)
Prep is fun 📚 ✍️
I just love your videos, Angie. My kids are just a little younger than yours and I glean so much from you. Thank you!
Ahh, so glad it is helpful!
The Middle East Geography Song was our absolute favorite one! It’s extremely catchy. 😂😂 Red Sails to Capri was my favorite read aloud for Level C. ❤️
Love hearing that!
I am so motivated to plan more and more effectively this upcoming year. I learn so much from other mamas. Thank you for sharing! 💗☺️
Glad it was helpful!

I'm right there with you - I just want to finish out and take a break before organizing for next year!

Nice planning! I am... doing less this year 😅
I will probably do some "planning" of various things after we have started up again
Haha, I could really get behind a "less" planning year!

Good thinking!
Love your videos! Thanks for sharing. I’m so late in planning this year but very excited to get all the things delivered and set up😊
You got it!
I love seeing another homeschool mom planning in notion!
Random question but…where are your table & chairs from? Haha. This video was so motivating! Thanks for sharing!!
Haha, we picked them up used but they were originally from World Market!
New here and just received my Sunlight curriculum! I love the planner you are utilizing, where can I find it?
Hi, welcome!! It’s actually the Sonlight planner and I have a review video scheduled for it tomorrow 😊
This is random but would you share where makeup you use? Your skin looks great!
Ahh, thank you ... most of the time I just use a tinted sunscreen and some pressed powder and a little bit of blush!

Can you point us to the Brave Writer resources you watched/read that you used for your brainstorming/planning session? Thanks!

Where can so find some course of study worksheets? Thanks so much for helping me get my prepping done!
My course of study sheets are from the Sonlight Planner!
Do you have a video on your memorization box?
Not yet, but good idea!

Oh, and do you use the Sonlight Book labels? Do they come for the grade level readers too?

@@sciencemama that seems looks a good routine! We just found out that my 2 boys were accepted into thy co-op, so that's exciting!
I have a question. I did see your setup for how you put the kids work binders together…but when you switch out the weeks to put the new weeks in where do you put there finished work?
Hi! At that point I go through it all and save what I want for their yearly portfolios and then recycle the rest 🤣

What is the advice you would give for a first-time user of sonlight? We are starting with "B" with a 9 and 11 yr olds Thank you
Enjoy! Try not to worry to much about getting everything done in a day but really enjoy the conversations :)
I've never heard of notion, is it free?
Yes! I'm planning a walk through video next week on Notion!
Where did you get from these binders please?
They are the 5 star flex binders ... I LOVE them!!
@@sciencemama thanks😊
What computer program are you using?
Notion - I'm planning a walk through of how I use it next week :)
