    The history of holidays is such a great idea! It sounds so fun and we are going to try it this year as well. Thanks for the ideas ❤

      I'm super excited about it! It's somethings different but also super relatable to their lives. Like they celebrate and see these things every year, why not learn about them.

    When do you plan for math, Language arts, and all the other topics besides science? When do you start planning and preparing the unit studies? I've never heard of the Jot it Down program. I'm going to check that out. Have you ever done a home library tour? I see the books behind you and would love to know how you organize. Looks like a great selection of books and games.

      I go month-by-month for the math and language. It helps me better pace what each girl is learning. I only ever teach 3-4 subjects at a time, usually just focusing on Math, Language and the unit study (which alternates roughly between social studies and science).
      In terms of my book organization, my system is "just get it on a shelf". I wish it was fancier than that, but it isn't.

    I always find October so overwhelming. I’m in Ontario as well and it’s like ahhh all the things are happening, apple picking, pumpkin patching, corn mazing, festivals, thanksgiving, Halloween plus the Halloween parties it’s like ahhhhh!
    I’m considering taking October-December off for unschooling and going Jan-September 😅

      You've got to do what works for your family. October is a busy month for sure, with the double holiday. We personally take all December off because it's just crazy with parties, events and performances. It's one of the reasons we homeschool year round, so we can take breaks when it suits us and our schedule.

    Does this planner have weekly planning pages? I was hoping to see those in the video!

    • @RaisingAtoZ
      @RaisingAtoZ  Год назад

      Yes...They are monthly and weekly spreads through out. If you want to get a better look inside, you can see that full spreads in the shop. raisingatoz.com/shop/

    So if this is all you do for the summer. When do you actually plan your units- beyond deciding the topic? Or are they all ready to go for next year before you do this part?

    • @RaisingAtoZ
      @RaisingAtoZ  Год назад +1

      Great question! I have the unit studies all picked (They are in this video ruclips.net/video/qJAj69C9zKs/видео.html). In terms of daily lessons, I go month-by-month. I find other wise, I get too far ahead and there are too many changes that happen.

    Do you have a resource for the history of holidays you are doing or are you making them yourself?

    • @RaisingAtoZ
      @RaisingAtoZ  Год назад

      I'll probably do a bit of both...finding small units on Teachers pay teachers and then supplementing with lots of books
