  • This is by far the best value air rifle club I’ve belonged to so far, yearly membership is less than half the price of what it costs to fill average car fuel tank, technically it’s a group rather than a club so all members must have their own insurance but all responsible shooters will already have this anyway.
Members can shoot any time during daylight and any day of the week and use a key code to gain access to the secure site, everyone has to sign in and be responsible for their own safety, the busy days are Saturdays and Tuesdays when most of the veterans and club founding members are here.
It has constantly evolved over the years with much greater choice of targets and a very much improved shooting shelter.
Everyone I've met so far has been friendly and helpful and there is non of that clicky or snobby attitude that spoils many other clubs that I've shot at in the past, many of us have shot everything from BB guns to centre fire big bore but most agree airguns are the best value and fun guns to shoot and it's a sport that anyone can enjoy.
The targets are set up in both directions from the shelter at ranges from 10 to 80 metres and are perfect for all sub 12 FPE Airguns which is maximum power allowed.
The location is an old sand quarry in the beautiful and peaceful Norfolk countryside only a few miles from the coast, a wide range of local wildlife shares the site and there is a strict no hunting rule to protect them, rabbits are always hopping around which help keep the grass trimmed and deer wander across the range and stop the shooting occasionally, most of the time the only sound to be heard is sea gulls or the occasional fast jet fighter heading out on a training mission
Wind is a real challenge some (most) days and adds to the fun is at comes over the edge of the quarry and eddies around in several directions and creates perfect conditions to learn about how wind effects pellet flight over distance, if the forecast wind speed is over 10 mph then it's going to be difficult day to shoot tight groups on paper so best to stick to plinking at the many steel targets.
Grey Goose Archery and Axe Throwing are next door and share the access gate and track and some members do shoot at both clubs but I'm yet to try that type of fun.
