Even the bank holiday weekend rain can’t dampen the spirits of shooting a Lee Enfield.
I was only 5 years old when my dad let me shoot his .22 Lee Enfield and 50 years later after shooting nearly every type and calibre I still get that same buzz, not many guns can do that.

Really impressed with the Excite Smart Shot copper coated lead BB’s. They performed much better than the steel BB’s and so much safer on the indoor range, accuracy was very good at 10 metres and also had a healthy amount of power which should help on the outdoor 35 metre range if the weather ever improves. Been shot with many things over the years but never tried 6mm before. First couple of shots hit loose clothing so was thinking this ain’t too bad, they Amy decided to target left buttock and yes that stung like a hornet and I was like Forest Gump for rest of the day. Think my full power 1911 Race Gun was not the ideal weapon for this experiment.

Slideshow comparison between my 1918 .303 SMLE Lee Enfield and the 4.5mm BB Co2 powered modern replica. 100 years of age between them and both cost me the same to buy, the newer BB gun version is ok and not a bad copy but could of been so much better if had been PCP or spring piston powered pellet firing like the Mauser K98 from Diana.

This is so much safe fun for such a low price to buy and to keep well feed with ammo and has to be one of the coolest looking guns in the collection even if it is the lowest powered. At 25 metres you can hardly feel the 7-8mm water beads and they are completely non toxic which is a bonus.

Another gun I really miss after having to sell it due to financial problems. Crosman do make some fun top quality guns at great prices and this was a superb example of that, hopefully in the future things will get better and I can buy another one. Not sure that I will buy another big blackTac Sac forward grip.

This is first time I’ve shot my dad’s old Webley Senior pistol in .22, it is a quick and easy job to swap the barrels over so don’t know why I’ve never tried before. Not done a chrono test yet but obviously the much heavier .22 pellets are going a lot slower than the lighter .177 pellets, I’m guessing power is going to be very similar as the zero at 10 metres is identical between the 2 calibres...

This is a cheap fun toy that surprises everyone the first time they shoot it. Lots of bang flash and smoke and reasonable recoil and is as close to the real thing as you can get in the U.K. without a stupid long barrel and coat hanger off the grip or muzzle loading. The .38 blanks from Umarex work well and are cheap enough for occasional use but for obvious reasons it does not get that much use...
