True didn't talk about the philips CDI And the 2nd Saturn is easily the greatest 2D fighting game console of all time. Not to mention has one of the most sought after games of all time with Panzer Dragoon Saga 🔥.
the cdi is definitely underrated, however it's primary function was to be an "edutainment" / media center device they changed gears to games much later however, their port of tetris is ridiculously good like, maybe the best ever made

There is no damn way the 2600 and 5200 were in the same generation when Atari pitched the 5200 as the successor to the VCS and main competitor to the ColecoVision.
I remember playing 1st gen games on the home screen, and all the exciting time when all these games got upgraded through all these systems, of which the 16bit Arcade typical games left the most powerful mark as they were hugely attractive and playable ones. Nowadays, most games need to have that catchy elements to get peoples attention.

C64 was a micro computer so I'd say it shouldn't be included. If you did include it, you'd have to include every other micro too. So, the C128, the BBC Micro, Acorn, Amstrad, the Sinclair micros, the Dragon, and I know there's more I'm forgetting
I love how the PS2 is backward compatible with the PS1, I will play the PS1 version of Madden NFL 99 & Madden NFL 2000 on my PS2 Slim when I get it later in 2022
I'll give you a hint at my age, I remember when no one want a video game system and Magnavox couldn't sell them. They had so many of them they were giving them away if you bought a TV!
I was born in 89, but the first games I remember playing were 3rd gen games, like frogger and Super Mario Bros, Altered Beast and Golden Axe. I do, however have more memories of the Genesis and SNES, I was a huge Sonic fan back then (before it became cringe anime weeb stuff). I also remember the Genesis Jurassic Park games very fondly, as a JP nerd.
PS5 = futuristic design = bad thermals... Also. The ps5 has a bottle neck the gamer will not talk about. A system is only as good as it's slowest components. By focusing so hard on the ssd the PS5 takes a hit in every other direction.

Where is the Colecovision, Vectrex and Atari 5200! Your part with the second generation just stops at 1980 when the second generation actually goes to 1984. I can understand maybe not putting in the vectrex, but you didn't put in the Atari 5200 or ColecoVision which both sold over 1 million units which is a higher number than some of the other ones that you mentioned (Odyssey, bally astrocade, Channel F, Atari 7800, Atari Jaguar, etc.).
Everything from Generation 4 upward is still highly playable. I would say Generation 3 is a mixed bag. So when I play retro I only really go back to Generation 3.
True. And I started from NES. I play mostly Gen 6 games specifically GameCube and Dreamcast on my Flip 3. GameCube might have my favorite Nintendo library sans a good Super Mario game. Hated Sunshine.

3rd generation - this is when my life as a gamer start with the nes. 4th generation - now you're playing with super power. 5th generation - nintendo 64 is still good, i think it's still better than playstation 1. 6th generation - it was good, but i think it's a start where game wasn't as fun for me. 7th generation - the wii was good and sony copied wii mote concept as a ps move. 8th generation - the wii u was great, but i guess the advertisement was confusing, make people think the game pad was a add-on for the wii instead. 9th generation - "switch" is good, just that it kind of have a lot of wii u games imported.

8th generation - the wii u was great, but i guess the advertisement was confusing, make people think the game pad was a add-on for the wii instead.
9th generation - "switch" is good, just that it kind of have a lot of wii u games imported.
the switch came out at the end of the 8th generation it's not part of the 9th generation 😐.
