this was really thoughtful, and it applies to a lot of things outside of music too, so it's a useful bit of stuff for a lot of people i think. it's not anything i hadnt heard before, but its one thing to know something and its another thing to hold myself to the same standard i hold others, lol. i would tell an artist friend of mine all of this in a heartbeat, but i wouldn't necessarily tell it to myself. so, having someone doing that in video form is helpful haha
I have a rock album I’ve been working on for 4 years and I can’t wait to release it and see the reaction, whether it be negative or positive. Hope Fantano reviews it one day. Though I’m 99% sure he’ll give it a decent 5.

Artists are sensitive as hell. I remember a Donald Glover interview where he mentioned the reason he's not on social media is that it's too much for him to take in. More artists would live happier lives if they just did the same.
I thought it was pretty good he thought it was good A bunch of people said it wasnt good......He hasn't dropped one bad project until now and people act like it's the end of the world stop hating and just listen to something else dont hate on the artist
Im not an artist and because i started practicing singing late at 17 because i realised what i wanted to do and i got discouraged But watching this video really helped me,thanks Anthony
Generally this is good advice and can be said to anyone in any creative field. I think you’re right that an audience is easy to forgive when an artist puts out new and better projects. I mean just look at Kanye for example. The man puts his foot in his mouth so much and has made quite a few duds, but always ends up winning favors with his audience because he’ll just hit the nail on the head I guess. Im not even really fan of his but it’s easy to notice when he’s doing well because of the nature of his life having so many highs and lows. That said it’s just hard being a creative person when it’s so tied to who you are as an individual. You’ve already addressed this, but it takes a lot of discipline and understanding to come out scathing reception like that.
In the end, I feel like the artistic process is more important than the result of that process. Simple journey not destination thing, but in the case of art it's very helpful for me. Of course they are intimately connected.
I'm in no way successful now in whatever I'm doing but this video actually helps me soothe my anxiety a bit. #4 especially hit me hard. Thank you, Ant!
Even though I've disagreed with you at times, Anthony your overall stance makes it so that I eventually see your point and respect your view every time. As you said, continuing to create and proving yourself as a creator bypasses any frustration people might have with a single piece of your work. (Ya still did my boys AM dirty tho, but hey it's ok)
They're called corny when they very evidently fake and use emotion as a crutch to make people like there work. Slapping I'm depressed on an unintelligible piece of garbage doesn't make it good. Same with I love my wife.
Yeah, but like melanothy says at 7 min... it's not a personal attack, you have to take the criticism and change next time. In art school I had to learn that my first few years. Plus, everyday people don't know how to properly criticize a piece.. they just say it sucks, or it sounds like shit. It also takes time to know how to criticize something without generally describing it.
This was very interesting video Anthony! I can relate to feeling stuck on music. My current project is small but I have given away hundreds of CDs, about to do my first show, and it seems to be helping me keep trying new types of sounds or structures of songs. My last alias I felt stuck, caught in a loop, felt I wasn't developing into a better artist; and really it took a name change and new direction to make something new keep that creativity going.

And I appreciate this video. I remember the first time I watched your channel I hated you cause you gave an album I liked a low score. But it’s exactly the mindset that you have with the internet that allows you to continue making such quality content! Keep it up man, I appreciate you.
why did logic re-upload his video just to put in the part about him being biracial?
Remember that fantano knows what it's like to be memed on, so he's experienced in that regard.
Thank you. This video was very helpful Anthony. Unsubscribed
Original.
I bet you are the type of person to tell managers "you will never get my business again" 😅
this was really thoughtful, and it applies to a lot of things outside of music too, so it's a useful bit of stuff for a lot of people i think. it's not anything i hadnt heard before, but its one thing to know something and its another thing to hold myself to the same standard i hold others, lol. i would tell an artist friend of mine all of this in a heartbeat, but i wouldn't necessarily tell it to myself. so, having someone doing that in video form is helpful haha
"You can't please all the people all the time and last night all those people were at my show."
-Mitch Hedberg
I have a rock album I’ve been working on for 4 years and I can’t wait to release it and see the reaction, whether it be negative or positive. Hope Fantano reviews it one day.
Though I’m 99% sure he’ll give it a decent 5.
Is it out?
Twin Pumpkin it is not. I couldn’t get any help realizing its full potential. I do have a collection of track listed demos of the songs and I’m missing like 4 of them. I can link them to you if you’d like.
If you need any help on drums tracks, im available!
Artists are sensitive as hell. I remember a Donald Glover interview where he mentioned the reason he's not on social media is that it's too much for him to take in. More artists would live happier lives if they just did the same.
I love you Unkle Adams but I really hope you listen to this
These friendly advices prove how much you're a positive human being! Thanks for your work and your great sense of humour, Fanthony! :-)

@@OpaqueVideos LMAO
Chance is being way too sensitive about one little meme
don't think it's just the meme, the record blew big time
Nah I'd say it's pretty just for him to react this way for his first album release
Wil Anderson he probably should of dropped a good album then lol
I thought it was pretty good he thought it was good A bunch of people said it wasnt good......He hasn't dropped one bad project until now and people act like it's the end of the world stop hating and just listen to something else dont hate on the artist
@@IHav3No3n3mies ooh I love my wife
Watching this one in preparation for putting anything out. Your videos are genuinely helpful to me Anthony, and that I appreciate.
1. keep courage
2. f the haters
3. let it go
4. move on
5. its not personal
6. ppl have no memory
there you go, youre welcome
I love you funatish.
funatish Is this the version that is in Lamont terms? 😀
as an artist myself i really appreciated all you had to say in this piece; many thanks for all your wonderful thoughts on our musical world :)
Anthony hurt Chance’s feelings so bad with that review that he had to create a power point to show Chance how to deal with it.
What a legend.
There will ALWAYS be more supporters than haters. Sometimes the haters are just louder
It's okay Melon, you didn't have to delete the vid the first time we know you love your Wife
Thank you man. I needed to hear this. 🤘
If anybody is wondering the actual reason this got reuploaded. The original title was "I love Chance's wife"
This honestly applies to critics who get attacked for their reviews, too. I've made all these mistakes!
"You can't please all of the people all of the time"
Death managed to never make a bad album, but that's a special band tbh
I think Death has become more and more celebrated since Chuck's passing. The Sound of Perseverance was pretty divisive when it came out.
Im not an artist and because i started practicing singing late at 17 because i realised what i wanted to do and i got discouraged
But watching this video really helped me,thanks Anthony
Someone give me a rundown on why this was deleted
Chance and his wife got to Anthony
Cal reuploaded to let the truth out
Thanks John Travolta
He forgot to edit out a few slurs
lokuendog you mean add in* a few slurs
But in actuality, he misspelled a word in the video
Make a sequel about how artists should handle success, that’s also pretty important in public image
Powerful PowerPoint Presentation
Of course they are intimately connected.
i think this is one of your best videos of this format. very well put
Anthony had to make this because he’s next NOT GOOD artist might die.
(Ya still did my boys AM dirty tho, but hey it's ok)
anthony needs 2 make more of these types of videos, the advice is really good
We get it, Melon. You're Chance the Rapper's wife and you just have his album a 0 so you wouldn't seem biased.
I appreciate all of the advice, Melon! Very thoughtful and applicable to the process.
Artists are human. There music is there life n when people shit on it hurts. Then you guys call them corny for having human reactions.
No ones ever called anyone corny for having human reactions
Tom Hunt literally everyone does.
GET OUT WHILE YOU STILL CAN! THE "YOU DIDNT HAVE TO SAY THAT MELON" COMMENTS ARE COMING! RUN AND THEN DONT LOOK BACK! YOULL TURN TO STONE! YOULL LOVE YOUR WIFE! OH THE HORROR

Interesting video concept and great advice here. Not just for artists but for anyone encountering professional difficulties. Thanks Fantano.
Lyrics:
Many college students have gone to college
And gotten hooked on drugs, marijuana, and alcohol
Listen, stop trying to be somebody else
Don't try to be someone else
Be yourself and know that that's good enough
Don't try to be someone else
Don't try to be like someone else
Don't try to act like someone else, be yourself
Be secure with yourself
Rely and trust upon your own decisions
On your own beliefs
You understand the things that I've taught you
Not to drink alcohol, not to use drugs
Don't use that cocaine or marijuana because that stuff is highly addictive
When people become weed-heads they become sluggish, lazy, stupid and unconcerned
Sluggish, lazy, stupid and unconcerned
That's all marijuana does to you, okay? This is mom
Unless you're taking it under doctor's umm control
Then it's regulated. Do not smoke marijuana, do not consume alcohol
Do not get in the car with someone who is inebriated
This is mom, call me, bye
Mauricio Ortega this from franks album lol??
Didn't really think I would personally benefit from this, but now I see future me really benefitting from this. So I needed this, thanks!
I see ya fantano with the boy in stripped pajamas drip
This was really good. Although Fantano can seem a bit clinical and a bit too analytical in his approach of artists and music in general, I love the empathy Fantano has for Chance in this video (and other artists). It shows his humanity. Empathy is honestly a big thing missing in hip hop culture, but this was amazing to watch
If you kill Chance, I better not be seeing a apologie video coming from you.
This is p good advice for several forms of artwork, u can tell an artist, a video creator, or a streamer and this will help
"This is an eventuality. You can't please everyone all the time"
Kendrick would like a word
hey melon, really enjoyed this as someone who creates art. even if you're not a musician, these points are so important and beneficial to remember

I think the "Don't take it personally" bit was brilliant, and could really be expressed towards any kind of artist. Well said, melon!
i already know how

impressed with the constant production quality despite being in prison for throwing metal wallets at people melon
Big up melon for this seriously!
As an aspiring artist this video helped a lot.
Time to get working on the next tape!
Hey Anthony bro this is a reupload, never though you’d sell out like that 😔😔
Great advice on life in general really, life goes on
We good everyone the video is back up 🙌
hate or love it, i respect eminem always let the music speak for himself, never whining on social media. people still hating but that's what a grown artist should do, that's why i don't respect artist like kanye or chance the rapper, always fucking whining on social media
