Yeezus is an album a lot of people won’t like at first, but as they listen to it more, a lot of people like it much more. It wasn’t my favorite at first but now it’s my second favorite Kanye album.
I listen to a full Death Grips album between each track of the album I am reviewing as a palette cleanser.

Honestly, I can imagine how after 2 loose listens in a short period followed by a literal study of the album requiring multiple concentrated listens could make me particularly jaded and annoyed by Kanye's whinning intertwined with dubious boasts and references to his public persona.

My own process for writing my musicboard reviews as a hobby:
1. Listen to album all the way through casually
2. Casually listen to individual tracks that caught my attention (positively or negatively) on the first listen
3. Lay down in the dark with quality headphones and listen all the way through again
4. Write review
Musicboard has been a key piece to listening to music now. It's given me a clear idea of my own thoughts and expanded my taste further than I thought it could go.
The correct way of doing it
For me it’s:
1. First listen all the way through, rate each song /10
2. Listen to my favorite songs again
3. Review
4. Relisten & Rereview later if I liked it.
Step 1. Rate Album Art
Step 2. Read /mu/ threads and other reviews about album
Step 3. Buy vinyl for decorative purposes
Step 4. Pick flannel
Step 5. Write and upload review
Step 6. Listen to a couple of the songs

I tried listening to a photo album once, for a week. At first I wasn't into it, but by the end, it blew my mind.

Okay, I get that sometimes an album cover can be really good and slightly influential to the perception of an album's sound, but to review albums entirely based on their cover seems a little out there, Melon.

How I listen to an album:
1. Go on Apple Music
2. Tab the Browse section
3. Click add on 4-6 albums
4. Let them sit in my library for a while
5. Finally, getting around to listen to it
6. Maybe listen to it once more
7. Look on RUclips if Anthony review it
8. Watch the video twice
9. Be Happy that he didn’t give it a zero, but be slightly disappointed for not giving a 10
10. Rinse & Repeat

Once there was this time I felt a vibration tickling my pinna and as it made it’s way down the ear canel through my eardrum like a ghost where it rested in the waters of my cochlea.
Before skipping some major areas to my brain were it danced and played until it finally lay rest in my heart for my blood and muscle memories to recall and give back the life.
This was me hearing music.
Now I having hearing damage because I like it too much.
Never understood how people could listen to an album once and determine if it's good or not. Music is so much more than that. Certain albums could take even 10 listens to really understand and enjoy and that's why music is beautiful
That’s definitely true. I listened to Loveless by MBV 12 times just to understand it, and now I love it. Even Atrocity Exhibition was pretty rough at the start but now I just see it as a genius piece of Hip Hop.

you have really got me listening to full albums. many of my friends *never* listen to albums - just singles from the radio, or from youtube, or streams, or whatever have you. but with the way you approach things it's really got me into listening to songs as part of the full piece - the album. the experience of the album. the story, the growing, changing feelings and themes over a half hour or more of music. there are bands that i only like 1 or 2 songs off each album, and although i do love those songs, and will make my own playlists of my favorite (my own album experience, really) i sort of respect those projects less, because there's nothing quite so fulfilling as a GREAT ALBUM, something, like you say, you can sit and listen to the whole thing through, emerse in it, and appreciate it as the "main course."

Your process: NOT GOOD!

For my process personally, I try to go through one listen completely unbias and blind, without taking any notes/scripting anything. Usually it's just me listening straight up to the record with no skewed vision or trying to look at it "professionally." Afterwards, I'll go back through and cherry pick bits and pieces of interest and overall points so I don't ramble on each song for years, and make some loose draft notes on a google document to refer to. I try to avoid anything that might skew my opinion of it going into it: Other reviews, online stuff, comments, etc. I also try my best to look at it as a current album and not compare it to others in the discography of that band/artist. I'm constantly trying to find new music, and I'm working sometimes 6-7-8 hours a day on what I'm doing, sometimes to the detriment of my health. I pull quite a few all nighters working, researching, listening, writing, etc. That's just how I am. Trying to take it very seriously. :)

I was so hyped when I saw he dropped and album. The last Nav review was iconic
One time I listened to an album called *Deathconsciousness* and it became my favorite album but Melon Boy never reviewed it which made me sad. He reviewed *Giles Corey* and *The Unnatural World* to make up for it, though. We're still friends he let me come over and play Xbox earlier, it was so freaking epic! His mom made us hot pockets, but they were vegan so they weren't that great.
I have no practice need for this knowledge but it makes me happy to see a glimpse into your process!
You should do a video of you finding out an album came out, then listening to it, cutting out the actual music or speeding through it to avoid copyright as you do in your Track reviews, and then give initial thoughts and then transition into the actual album review. Just for one album, just to see if your audience would like it, I would really be interested in such a video.
