After 20 seconds, I muted the sounds coming from your work bench, and played some medieval music as a soundtrack. What patience and skilled craft you have. Pat - South Padre island, Texas.
Thanks Pat :)
Great videos on upcycling some old wood. Love them all! Thx for sharing
I do metal work, so appreciate all the work you put into these hinges. They look great. Since I do metal work and have the right equipment, I would cut the profiles on my plasma table and then finish them by hand, saving many hours of tedious labor. Non the less great job, proving that you don't have to have expensive equipment to create works of art, just patience and imagination. Great job.
Thanks Bruce :)
I can't begin to imagine the patience it took cutting and filing on these hinges!! But wow...did they ever turn out beautiful!! Nice work!!
Thanks very much, George :)
Wonderful and inspiring work. Thanks a lot for sharing tour passion and technics.
Thanks Eric :)
His builds generally involve hundreds of pieces of wood--cut, fitted, glued, and fabricated into ornate panels and trim. His patience is absolutely superhuman.
*Metal ASMR. cool*
*I had shivers* 😅
*Great metal detail* 😎👍
Thanks :)
You should change your RUclips channel from Epic UpCycling to The Wizard of UpCycling. Once again - your creative mind has given the rest of us a real example of what can be done with used materials.
Thanks very much, Chris :)
I remember a long-long time ago watching a house toor of some upstart personality and within their super modern mansion they showed this door they specially transported from abroad, which was probably couple of hundred years old. And at that I can imagine Jason saying: Heh, I can do one myself and it won't look worse.
Awesome!
Beautiful work. I have an old chest-on-stand that has some hand-wrought metal hinges similar to the ones you've made; but now, after seeing the process involved to create the 'simple' pieces in my old piece of furniture, I love them. Thank you so much for allowing us to know the process of creation, and to admire what we take for granted. I hope more people could see your work to learn to appreciate and value artistic craftsmanship. Cheers
Thanks very much, Carriebtc :)
Amazing has always
Such a simple thing, yet another elegant display of producing it. Thanks again for sharing. Looks great!
Thanks very much :)
Incredibly stunning. The craftsmanship that went into them was amazing and they will look a treat on any unit or chest.
Fantastic video Jason 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks Ian :)
This is the true story about Thomas Wayne, known as a solitary personality whose gadgets can’t be imagined by the normal citizen. The real Batman is just this guy
Thanks Sean :)

Thanks Sylvia :)
Nice job!
Thanks :)
I can't imagine how many times I'd have to say "oops" just making the first one, let alone the matching one.
Epic is just the right adjective for your work and chanel !
Thanks Anaelle :)
Yes, thanks...good to see from start to finish.
Awesome job once again. I really am in awe of your patience.

Those are fantastic, I can only imagine what they will go on.
Thanks Kenn. They are going on a drinks cabinet. Video coming soon :)
Cool work. Can't wait to see where you're applying them. My father was a blacksmith and my school vacations were spent on his shop. I still love the smell of grinded metal.
Thanks ricardo. They are going on a drinks cabinet. video coming soon :)

Thanks Alicia :)
nice work!!
could be very useful here , in Brittany since almost all our cities are old Medieval town ^^
without forgetting all the furniture you made who could also fit perfectly too
Thanks :)
wow
cant wait to see what they will be used for
They are for a medieval drinks cabinet :)
@@EpicUpCycling nice ve the way you build stuff out of old pallet wood and other scrap , in the menss shed where i go we use pallet wood for making stuff too
Great work man! keep it up! waiting to see what are you going to build with this Hinges
Thanks. The full build video should be done in the next week or two :)
Very nice finished product. Suggestion: Might want to invest in a band saw or at the very least a scroll saw if you plan on doing intricate cutouts like the one today. Also, Jimmy Diresta uses a product to blacken and age metal. It would work great on your hinges. Cheers.
Jason has a band saw. I've watched him use it many times in his Epic UpCycling videos. He makes incredible furniture from recycled pallet wood. You would never know that it was scrap.
Nice work.
Thanks Wayne :)
Let's see, handmade medieval hinges... Methinks a matching door might in the cards for the future?
Fantastic work btw!
Edit: Just read the description, so I'm half right, doors and cabinet, lol.
Thanks Samantha. Video of the cabinet build coming soon :)
Hermosas.
Thanks Gabriel :)
Bom !
Muito bom!!! Parabéns!!!
thanks Denilson
Hope you had ear plugs when filing, hard to keep something like that from singing...loudly. ;-P Nice work Jason! Tough shape to cut by hand. Masterful work on hand fitting the hinges and the peened finish looks great and natural. Looking forward to the drink cabinet build.
Thanks, Yes, it did screech a bit :) I wasn't sure how the finish was going to look but I turned out ok I think.
Wau 👍 mama moja čo všetko dokážete 😉 krásna precízna ručná práca 👏 nádhera a ďalšia 💓 pre mňa 😉 veľmi obdivujem vašu trpezlivosť lebo viem že je to riadna drina a ďakujem za možnosť pozrieť si video 😘
Thank you Oľga :)
Pity as you can't copy a paste LOL, great job though makes it more rewarding Stay Safe Mate !!!.
Thanks Brian :)
👍👍👍
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Bravo respekt ✌❤🙋♂️🤝
Thanks :)
Wow, that must have taken a hell of a lot of time to cut those shapes out. I don't know what thickness sheet metal you were using but metal nibbler tools can cut up to 3.4 mm (10 gauge) thick sheet and would have saved you a whole heap of time. Good job on making those medieval looking hinges tho.
Thanks Storm :)
Not going to lie,10 minutes in i would have grabbed my dremel
Glad to see another video from you, Jason! Superb work as always. I’m surprised you went with that profile; definitely very medieval but I’d normally expect you to be more ornamental. I assume this is because you’re going for a very specific (medieval) look for the cabinet? Can’t wait to see it in any case! PS (now I’ve watched the whole video, ha) The way you hammered the edges to “age” them, is that commonly known? Seems obvious now I’ve seen it but I’ve not seen anyone do it and was wondering how out of the loop I am.
Thanks For the comments Sam. The cabinet I'm building has a very medieval look to it so I'm hoping these are going to work. Not sure how common the hammering is, it just seemed right for these :)
👍 красиво.
Thanks :)
👍
What are the best metal to take to make this kind of stuff ?
I normally use 1.5mm thick steel.
Really interesting, you made want to try to make them! Can I ask you how thick is the metal sheet you have used?
Thanks!
Simone, the metal I used was 1.6mm thick. I found it hard to get a good bend with anything thicker using this method.
@@EpicUpCycling I was thinking exactly about that issue!! Thank you!
So cool. Did you make something to put these on ? They are awesome.
Thanks Diane. They are going on a drinks cabinet, video coming soon :)
Epic UpCycling my prayers have been answered🍺🍸🍷🥃👍
Do u make these to order if so how much as i would be interested
Sorry, Edd, no.
A really nice project, but why did you use screws for the hinges?
The 'pseudo-nails' you made for the lock would have been more of an authentic look
or use real blacksmith's nails.
You did so much hammering on the metal parts to make them look perfect phps. that would be another visual upgrade to change that screws.
jigsaw with metal cutting blade
Весь видос он шкукрил петли. И это ВСЕ ВИДЕО ?????
Some of your videos make metalworking seem appealing. Not this one! 😉 Seriously, though, this is beautiful work.
Thanks :)
