Michael Jordan: Ultimate Artistry; Last Dance Tribute Mix

- This channel exists because in 1982, I first watched Michael Jordan and immediately knew he was the GOAT, and so I recorded all his games from thereon. I made these three Michael Jordan Artistry mixes 14 years ago for this channel which I started in 2006 just when RUclips was born, and because of The Last Dance documentary, I'm coming out of retirement and re-uploading them in one long video, along with some new edits (most of which begin at 11:52) and different music. My equipment may not be as slick but my vision remains. Long live The One, who still inspires me to this day because art and genius are timeless. Please enjoy!

35 years later and still, no one touches this guy.
Hoops was the guy that started everyone uploading Michael Jordan videos on RUclips and this video was always one of my favorites!
Thanks man, glad to know we're both still around!
yep. it is pretty gross to see all those ignoramus now all of a sudden talking about jordan with their typical copy and paste comments when this conversation has been around for 14 years on youtube ( and even more on some forums before youtube). I remember the level of excitement to see hoops uploading rare footages from his own tapes far exceeded the entire last dance combined. I love seeing jordan and other cursing on the screen but basically the last dance provide nothing that most hardcore fans didn't know about. and those so-called '500 hours' of rare footages were more like 10-20 mins max throughout the entire series. i hope i am not the only one disappointed by it.
it is hard to believe that it has been 14 years. glad to see all the old names still being active!
@@popeyeisgood I have really mixed feelings overall. On one hand I loved the documentary series BUT I was also disappointed because that there was just so much stuff that they skipped over and the "new" footage was minimal. In reality they actually only featured maybe 10 games from the 1998 regular season but they missed out so many great games like when MJ went on a streak in late December early January and scored 47, 41, 33, 44, 34 and 44 just before Pippen came back. It was that stretch of games that took the Bulls to the top of the Eastern Conference before Pippen returned.
Instead we got the story about how they struggled early in the season and then Rodman stepped up until Pippen came back and then it was the allstar game. Then they skipped over the whole second half of the season like Jordan's game winners against Toronto and Atlanta and his last game against Barkley, Olajuwon and Drexler in Houston. They also skipped over the entire 1996-97 season.
I was even a bit disappointed in game 6 of the 1998 finals because MJ had 23 points in the first half and was on fire after Pippen got injured to keep the Bulls in the game. I think we saw one MJ 3 pointer from that whole first half.
I think they could have made it a 20 part series. People are still wanting more. I am looking forward to see game 6 the film tomorrow though.
@@jxn23 agree completely of what you said. i was really hoping they filmed some their practice games but you only saw a few shots of them doing drills and warm up. with a series title like this they should have made it a lot more detailed with how to sort of riding that roller coaster a bit in 98. the scott burell stuff is cool but i want to see more practice footage. i bet many of us would not complain if they just put up an unedited/ never aired section of their practice game for 5 minutes with no commentary.
i also feel like they did the first 3peat bulls dirty but not putting much weight onto those seasons. they put too much emphasis on guy like steve kerr. i would take a prime paxson and bj over kerr any day and yet kerr was probably the most interviewed dude other than pip/rodman and jackson. i would think that during the 2nd 3 peat, harper and kukoc were mere important that kerr anyway. it is basically an extremely biased and incomplete history of jordan's nba career. they missed out the scottie pippen all star game which was important to the story. they also wasted so much time talking about the gambling stuff which to me was a snooze fest. like you said, those in-game footages were piss-poor and didn't illustrate what really happened accurately. the last two episodes were just too predictable and boring.
Who remembers Hanamichi videos, those were FIRE!!!!
Simply unbelievable, there will never be another.
Jesus Loves you and wants you to accept him as your Lord and saviour
By far the best player this game has ever seen. I was so fortunate to see this man play live.
Mj the undisputed GOAT!!!
Nobody comes close.
Man hoops I remember the first artistry. lol it's still my go to reference for Jordan moves, love the refresh
Thank you man. My job has been done!
@@hoopsencyclopedia Nah....you inspired alot of YT'bers that they continued what you help started.
MJ the GOAT, unbelievable...., there wasn't another one, will never be another one.

The very first Artistry of Michael Jordan vid was legendary!
the hangtime, the gracefulness, the speed and quickness, long arms and fists like that of a seven footer, the humility, the competitive mind set - all these which Lebron doesnt possess.
you should appreciate all the greats instead of bringing them down to prop up others
@@7413321 recognizing the differences between the 2 players is not 'trying to bring down LeBron in order to prop up Jordan 😭😭
If I said that LeBron is a better passer than Jordan it also wouldn't be trying to tear down Jordan to prop up LeBron 😂😂
All players have strengths and weaknesses and pointing out their flaws is not bringing them down. What we're not going to do is pretend that all players are perfect. This new generation is soft as tissue paper. You have to continually pat them on the back and pretend that they are perfect or they accuse you of "hating" and "trying to bring them down". Y'all need to toughen up
@@7413321it is literally comparison showing all the things MJ possesses that LeBron lacks yet people erroneously think there is some type of debate in rational minds that LeBron is anywhere close to MJ let alone able to surpass his goat status
Always looking fierce and majestic in the Air often imitated but never duplicated
Speechless
Unbelievable!
Thank you!

Hoops! The original RUclips MJ highlight channel. Like you, I also saw 1982 that “Mike” Jordan was gonna be the G.O.A.T
Great video, for youngsters that didn"t have the chance to see Jordan, this is definitely one of the best videos ever.
My dad was a Magic Johnson fan, but was closer to MJ's age group and appreciated his greatness from day 1, being a UNC fan as well. When he saw that stutter-step/crossover/switch hands from right-to-left layup on Danny Schayes @7:00, he almost ruined my "Michael Jordan's Playground" tape after rewinding that play so many times lol
HAHAHAHAHA I remembered those rewinders man.....you know how many times I have to fix the vhs tape from getting caught? thank goodness for YT.....well heres the link to the MJ's Playground, Come Fly With Me, and Airtime. Enjoy!

Hoopsencyclopedia!
Creativity was thy name Michael Jordan. ❤💯🐐
It's May 2024 and I was watching the TWolves sweeping the Suns. Anthony Edwards is getting hyped as the new Michael Jordan. So I came back to watch the original. Been an NBA fan since 1991 and it's never too tiresome to watch MJ highlights.
Simply the best by the only standard that counts in the goat conversation: the # and intensity of the goosebumps you get watching him. Championships, points, competitiveness, stats...all irrelevant. No other player past or present has such a highlight reel. Period.
This was where I would go when I just needed a fix of inspiration before hitting the weightroom and the court for some heated pickup games for 4-5 hours after work or just some nostalgia to remember where all my hoop dreams came from. I knew "The Last Dance" would open the floodgates again!
Thank you man!
MJ really was able to FLY …My God thank you for creating this Men.
The Godfather is back! Cant believe i missed this.
Thanks Hoops!
Still the best GOAT video ever!.
Several never seen before plays. Thank you GOAT.
Yeah. the dunk he did on the clippers center! He yanked it away back and dunked it with back turned
HoopsE is back. You’re the original MJ Fix bruh. Appreciate you always. (Use to think you were MJ in disguise)
I really wanna ask how do he make it look so pretty?😍
Hoops RUclips legend! You made my days go by at work in the mid 2000s.
GOAT of all sports!!!
RUclips OGs know Hoops was one of the first with this type of elite highlight content
Hey, you are back! Great!!
MJ's unbelievable mid-air body control ~!!

Glad to see you at it:)
Thank you!
@@hoopsencyclopedia is this your last video? Whether it is or it isn't, thank you for all the rare footage I would never otherwise see
I was around when Hoops uploaded the artistry for the first time. I still listen to talvin Sing because of him! The Goat channel! Much respect family! The love is real! You pioneered so many channels you and Bruce Blitz!
That intro is so hard🔥👏🏾🙌🏾
Holy crap!! You've been watching Jordan since 1982! ? Wow! Man, you're lucky. I'm 41. I only saw him for the first time in 1991. But like you, I knew he was the GOAT from the jump!
Michael - Thank you. You deserve the yacht.
Portland - Thank you for taking Bowie. Forever thankful.

Glad to see you're back hoops! Your artistry videos one and two were a big inspiration to me. I've watched them dozens of times when I needed to get myself in the right state of mind or to get motivated
MJ is fun to watch
Look at that fly incredible the goat.
Everyone who compares MJ with (you know who) should watch this video and the tell me again: "he was better than the GOAT"
Hoops back like Mj in market square arena
This is the best Michael's mixtape ever. The first time I saw the Artistry of Michael Jordan I &II was ten years ago. I still watch them every year up to now with my greatest moving, shocking and respect. Thanks, hoopsencyclopedia.
🐐
I love watching this vid !
thank you ,man.good video
Hoops you still got it. Great to see you.
1:08 I was there. That was at UNC-Wilmington in June, 1987 at MJ's summer camp. I must have been standing next to the cameraman because that's exactly how I remember it. The "Come Fly With Me" video falsely claims that this was in Chapel Hill, but it wasn't.
U sure it wasn't 86'
I’m so glad you’ve taken a step out of retirement for this! My basic and most important education of the game of basketball came from your videos. I’ve spent hours watching them on repeat, breaking down Jordan’s footwork, how he shot the ball, how he positioned himself on defense etc. Yours will always be the most important hoops RUclips channel for me. Hope to hear from you again soon, Hoops!
1:08 is just beautiful
Hoops!!! How did I miss this!!??
Hats off to you sir, the guy who inspired me to make my own MJ mixes! Also introduced me to 'ALONG THE WIRE' - a tune I'll always associate with MJ!
he skipped the 50 point club to get 63..............he skipped stardom for superstardom................. became GOAT before champion..........was a God before a Legend
Blissful solitude of legend competitive mind Jordan
Nice vid
WOW

Bro I would kill to have all of his games on video or dvd, best video I've seen bye the way
finally subbed. goat jordan youtuber.
Welcome back Hoops!
8:17 imo the greatest MJ dunk of all time
Jordan is the goat labron James isn’t even close
Pause 11:59. High pitched voice, "Gaaawdamn!" What the... Why MJ do that man like that? Type of dunk to force a player into early retirement.
Are you kidding me MJ is the goat period end of discussion my favourite move is 1:08
That's a hell of a move JELLY
WOW I REMEMBER WATCHING THESE MIXES IN AWE IN 2009, HOOPSENCYCLOPEDIA STARTED THIS SHIT. LEGENDARY RUclips CLIPS
As an MJ Loyalist since the age of 10....I must say. IF, IF, IF Michael Jordan has not reached out to you directly and thanked you for your service in some way over the years, shame on him. And the community here can take that any way they need to. Shame shame shame!
How can MJ reach to him when he didn't know him nor saw him? Lol Shame on you.
@@rafaelreyes9 You don't think that Michael Jordan is familiar with the most watched MJ series on YT? Really? Shame on you.
Wow the dunk at 1:05 is ridiculous
To this day is still disrespectful for anyone to compare they self to Black Jesus
Jeut as his Status says :
THE BEST THERE EVERY WAS , AND THE BEST THERE EVERY BE !
Not to knock other NBA great players but after viewing that, I'm not sure Kareem's skyhook, Russell's defense only, Wilt's dunking on much smaller opponents, or Lebron putting his head down & bulling over the one defender between him & the basket compare to Michael's offense!
Long time no see
Most people saying he couldn't use his left hand but I'm seeing it through this video
I almost file a missing report on Hoops. So glad to see the legend back. I remember watching all those old Artistry of MJ video back when you first uploaded them. I enjoy the classic VHS 90s feels that you have in all your videos. Anyone knows what happen to that KB42PAH kid? Dude just disappear off youtube.
Thank you! That 90s VHS feel - there is no era like it haha. It would look even more classic if we had CRT filters for every old video, if the original recording is in good quality, the images would look sharp and crisp again on a CRT tv since it actually looks worse translated into HDTV. Some of those CRT tvs looked very close to HD quality in the end - but the same image looks like a potato in HDTV sadly. I had no idea about KB42PAH - that's sad to hear.
Salute to you Hoops. Thanks for Everything!
GOD send message via MJ to human beings...This message not written on the bible is all about greatness of all time...
If you don't believe that he's the goat, you have ro admit he's the most exciting player of all time along with Magic.
That cradle dunk in the warm-ups was nasty as Shaq's feet.
Wonderful job. You are the very best. Have you ever considered doing a video series the focuses exclusively on the 4 consecutive years the Bulls faced the Pistons in the playoffs, including regular season games? Reason I ask is because I believe that the lessons he learned during those 4 seasons facing Detroit are what made him the champion he became later. All during those 6 championship runs, no matter how tough it got, Jordan and the team had that experience with Detroit to serve as their competitive foundation, and no adversity they faced after those Pistons teams ever actually equaled those Pistons teams. With your knowledge and command of how to paint an accurate picture of Jordan's true otherworldliness, I've always felt that you are the one person that could properly tackle that challenge. Such a series of videos would be unmatched, in my opinion. I grew up in Chicago and was in my teens and late teens during those years, and remember them very well. Would really love to help contribute. Please reach out, if you would it'd be an honor.
Thank you - that would be a really great project - tackling that whole rivalry in detail. Definitely something that can inspire me to do new projects again.
@@hoopsencyclopedia I am delighted you feel that way. Is there a way we could correspond by any other means? I have email. The opportunity to discuss this idea with you is something I've thought about for over a decade. I truly feel that you are the only one out there that understands this, that shares the same perspective. I hope to hear from you.
@@hoopsencyclopedia I believe that Pistons-Bulls rivalry was the greatest in team sports I've ever seen in my lifetime. All of the other great ones in sports were damn fine, but after all was said and done, there was a mutual respect that sort of overrode the dislike borne out of competition. However, that wasn't the case with the Pistons and Bulls. I have always found their rivalry, and specifically the way the Pistons approached taking on Jordan, fascinating. Being a native of Chicago and old enough to understand at the time, with each year that passes I enjoy going back and watching those full games. I think they capture the absolute purest form of competition I have ever seen in my lifetime. Just remembering here: After the Bulls stunned Detroit in game 2 of the 88 series, I specifically remember how the Pistons just dialed up their game in Chicago for games 3 & 4. It was really like men against boys. Then in the clinching game 5 back at Pontiac, the Bulls dug in and fought, but I remember the Pistons really never seemed to be bothered all that much. They had a confidence, an air about them, that they had acquired through tough battles with Boston over several years.
@@hoopsencyclopedia I've always felt very strongly that by far the single most important year in Jordan's basketball life was the 88-89 season. To the outside world the Bulls stunning the Cavs and upsetting the Knicks to get to the EC Finals made the Bulls the Cinderella story of the playoffs, BUT Jordan absolutely KNEW that, in his mind, they HAD to get to at least the East Finals that year or the powers that be were gonna break up that team, and he would be facing another 2-3 year rebuilding effort just to the point where they could get to the 2nd round again. Of course, he wanted to win, but for his championship arc to continue upward, Jordan knew that they needed to not only get to the East Finals, but to give Detroit a run for their money.
@@hoopsencyclopedia Watching game 1 of that series (89 East Finals) is mesmerizing to me, not because of Jordan. He played a great game, got the rest of the team involved, and the Bulls stole the 1st game of the series in Detroit, but what amazed me about that game was how after the Bulls got off to a huge lead in the 1st quarter, from that point on the Pistons just kept steadily coming back, and even though the Bulls held on to win, it really felt like they were hanging on for dear life in the last 5-6 minutes of that game. That was the thing about those championship Pistons teams: they just NEVER quit. Ever. And they also never beat themselves. Even though they lost game 1, I remember seeing Chuck Daly on the bench in the closing seconds of the game with a smile on his face. It was like he just KNEW that they would win that series, even then.
i laughed my ass off at the triple pump fake at 6:01
I love the lyrics of the song being played for the last few minutes of this video: "Don't think about all those things you fear, just be glad to be here." They pretty much sum up MJ's career in regards to his so called competition.
Somebody tell me, in light of these type on highlights on M. J.: who is LeBron James again? Greatest of all...what?
First YT channel I ever subscribed to, back in 06' or so at the age of 28. Artistry I is my go to red-pill video for clowns that wanna talk. Period. Case closed.
Edit. Is that track from The Thing?! One of the best, if not the best, scifi horrors of all time. In my top 10 films.
Thank you! Yes the track is from The Thing, amazing movie - I just watched it and the music made sense!
What's MJ's VORP and ( +/- ) though?? .... Sarcasm
Before LeBron kobe Iverson Michael was doing things in the air and penetrating that even until now we haven't seen again

Hoops, are you still around? I'm actually interested in paying you to go forward with editing some more videos.
I've been watching your videos since years ago. I'm planning to make top 10 videos in the future but I'm having trouble finding some of his college matches on youtube, is there a chance you can upload them..?
