    No wonder my mother said that MJ is the player you will never grow tired of watching him play. I mean look at how he attacked the lanes, his footsteps even without basketball, his basketball IQ, his amazing defense, most important is his ability to read and execute through contact that we might be able to see anybody on the same level with MJ again.

  • @darkpierre8635
    @darkpierre8635 5 лет назад +52

    The G.O.A.T simply.
    His take-offs, his first step, his time of suspension mixed with his speed of execution and his air balance made MJ an unstoppable war machine.
    I will not even talk about his mental and defensive qualities out of the ordinary.
    In the current league with all the changing NBA rules Jordan's stats would be classified top secret so it would be completely surreal.

    Unfuckingbelievable.
    Jordan didn't wait for the pick n roll, he didn't wait for a matchup advantage, he didn't wait for his teammates to spread the floor, Jordan didn't care if 1,2,3 defenders were defending the rim, or if even the best shot blockers/s were at the rim..
    He dunked the ball as if no one was there.
    Consistently. With the same insane energy.

    i never understand why people think vince carter is a better in-game dunker. jordan was far more capable than carter at squeezing through cracks and dunking on top of contesting defenders crowding the rim. a lot of those baseline first step dunks are incredible given how much space he was allowed to operate. and the crazy thing is this highlight probably covered less than 40% of his in game dunks. the joy of watching jordan's highlight never gets old.

    • @domais68
      @domais68 4 года назад +22

      Agreed. "Best dunker" is a subjective matter. I enjoy Jordan's dunks far more than Carter's throw-downs. Carter was amazing, and I get why people put him at #1, but I prefer MJ's style.

    • @m74d3
      @m74d3 4 года назад +13

      @@domais68 I agree. Jordan's dunks simply looked better in my opinion. Carter dunked in a more ferocious manner, but Jordan dunked with more artistry and grace. Seeing MJ take off from just inside the free throw line and float through the air sideways before throwing it down just looked so much cooler than any of Carter's dunks

    Damn! This guy is just unreal. When he jumps he still got the same weight force as if he is standing up with the ball above his head until he complete his dunks.
    This is why it was impossible to block his dunks. Players are in positions to block but Jordan's weight never shifts to weightless until after he dunks. The results is he can control his body when contact is made and the other players attempting to block his dunk start going back down soon after they make contact with him because his power which comes from keeping his weight in effect with his dunks is like a martial artist who never has a stands that makes him unbalance. Even when he lands he is still under control balance of his body. Amazing!

There has never been any big enough in size and heart (and in numbers) to give lebron a raw Challenge in hell. 11:42 - MJ goes from 35 feet out to a dunk in under 2 seconds. Fastest player in the halfcourt ever in terms of point A to point B speed. Also, no one has ever been a better or more versatile leaper in the halfcourt than Jordan - he was elite off of 1 foot, 2 feet, and off of a a hop step in any direction he could get major air. Some of the baseline dunks are insane - he barely even flexes his knees and gets huge air (for example 1:05, 1:44, 4:54, 7:40, 12:48). Love the stare-down after he dunks all in Mahorn's face at 2:26 lol. No player has ever gotten off the floor quicker than Jordan - crazy springs.

    With the lanes as wide open as they are today (defensive 3-sec rule), his amount of dunks in this era would double.
    Because once you clear the initial defender (no hand/body-checking), there'd be little to virtually NO RESISTANCE to impede his drives or Bigs to challenge him at the rim at all.

    the guy has not played for about 18 years...but still has a lot of highlight to show...
    And He is the only player who has a classification of the highlight; the dunk, the reverse lay up, the fake move, the pull up jumper, the fade away jump, the step back, the hang time, the posterize dunk, the trash talk, the baseball time, the buzzer beater, the defense, the block shot, the shoes, the best play of playoffs, the close eyes free throw.....and more.

    The more you contest MJs shot... The more spectacular the dunk becomes.
    Meanwhile... If you look at lebums dunks... Mostly are by his lonesome... And hes supposed to be bigger than MJ. 🤣😂😅

    The thing that people don’t get and don’t understand about MJs highlight dunks is, his dunks were different and spectacular than anyones nowadays because this guy didn’t wait for an open opportunity to dunk on u or wide open spaces . This guy did it anyhow and anytime no matter if there was a freaking 7 footer on his way, no matter if there were 3, 4 or 5 guys blocking his entrance to the basket, he did it anyway. He wasn’t a showtime dunker like u see in today’s game. He practically Had that in his blood and was one of his most potent weapons in the court. Today you see all these guys trying to emulate MJs or posting videos of highlight dunks when they r not being heavily guarded and yes, I know a few players had done their part with crazy dunks in today’s game but if you analyze and review their games, it’s not their every night thing just like MJ did.

    Call me crazy, but I don’t recall any other guard that worked the baseline with so little room. It looks like he has nothing and then he squeezes through and boom a dunk or his famous reverses. The confidence and the skill to preform on a consistent basis year after year was sick. I didn’t appreciate it much when I was watching him live, looking back I sure do now.

    • @popeyeisgood
      @popeyeisgood 5 лет назад +5

      yea, and to think about how much lift he got with that little room to jump, some time he had to jump side way from the position of behind the backboard back to a proper dunking position and he still managed to do those in a regular basis back in his prime. the thing that jordan had that nowadays nba stars lack is the no-nonsense, all attack mentality, combined with his amazing efficiency that no volume-shooter can even dream about getting close to.
