    • @teddyhart2913
      @teddyhart2913 Год назад

      shooting isn't easier, players are just better at shooting now. The goal is still ten feet high and three pointers are just as far away as back then. Just the overall league style and physicality due to rules has changed. You have to play within the rules that your era allows and its not fair to be punished for it. Players adapt regardless

    • @craighay9086
      @craighay9086 Год назад +1

      @@teddyhart2913 Shooting is much easier now because there is no defense.
      It's why people hit so many shots because they don't have as many hands in their face.

      @@craighay9086 less ppl shot from the perimeter back then so many times you could get a decently open jumpshot. Driving to the basket was what was harder then

    • @craighay9086
      @craighay9086 Год назад +1

      @@teddyhart2913 You still had Allen, Rice, Miller, Bird etc taking 3's, but it wasn't as easy to get your shot off then. Now it's just shoot from anywhere.

    • @teddyhart2913
      @teddyhart2913 Год назад +1

      @craighay9086 the league back then didnt look as favorably on threes as it is today. Keep in mind coaches from the 80 and 90s grew up in a pre-3pt world. Even pat riley called 3 pointers a clown shot, other coaches called it a gimmick , etc. Because it wasnt particularly encouraged, you had your 3pt specialists, and then you had your slashers. Yes the league had bird, glenn rice, mark price, and others, but even they wouldnt attempt more than maybe 3 a game because of the leagues mentality then. Most ppl who could shoot couldnt drive the ball, and those who could drive typically couldnt shoot. In todays NBA, most players can do BOTH! Its just evolution man, its not that shots were harder, its just the skill and rules changing that makes it look easier now. By sheer unexpectedness, getting off a 3 back then (unless youre a known marksman ie reggie) wouldve been easier than now where defenses expect it.

    I remember when they said MJ wouldn’t go left, not a great defender, not a good shooter, not strong enough. He worked on every part of his game and by the championship years he was the perfect basketball player. I wish guys were this dedicated. Shoutout to Giannis and Jason Tatum. I’m a NYK fan but sum guys you can tell work their a$$ off in the summer. Julius Randall too gotta work on that right hand though 😂
