Please stay the way you are. Your presentation and details were immaculate. I love your integrity which did not involve any kind of cliche delivery from many other youtuber or blogger out there. You were genuinely highlighted all topics precisely, and a true justifications for us, to plan and choose the best out of many options out there. Highly appreciate that. Thank you for your kindness. 🤗
It certainly was. The full clip I filmed was over 6 minutes just for the buffet 😂 Believe it or not there were actually a few bits here and there that didn’t make the final edit. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Raffles Jakarta seems one of the nicest amongst all Raffles Hotels IMHO. It deserves one or two more points IMHO. Much thanks for the review. Enjoying your channel - subscribed. :)
What I love about your content is that you focus on the design. Aside from amenities, service, and other typical considerations, being in an environment that matches my taste elevates the experience even more. Your attention to detail is unmatched!
Once again another great video. Really helps to choose hotels when it's all spelt out so easily. Everything from arriving to reception area to the room.
Trying two egg dishes for us … AND for science ! Oh Kevin, the sacrifices you make for your viewers, the dedication to research … wow … this brings tears to my eyes … . . . tears due to uncontrollable laughter while rolling on the floor 😂🤣😂
Ha, finally some quality time all to myself watching with a nice cup of Nespresso! Leaving tomorrow for a 4 week Bali and Australia trip…first one after the pandemic. Thank you Kevin for another quality review, they are so inspiring! Good to see your channel growing 🤩
I’ve been following you for quite sometime, you’re a Top RUclipsr, your observations are always on queue. Thank You for your fantastic work, honestly I love your work!! Peace of I
Another brilliant review! Thanks so much for all these. Raffles looks amazing. Any thoughts on mandarin oriental? Only reason I'd consider it over raffles is the amex FHR benefits, but I'm still tempted to do Raffles...
I have not been having stellar experiences at MOs in SE Asia lately so when choosing hotels in Jakarta I didn’t even consider it. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
LMAO That unsponsorship warning XD Raffles definitely seems like a very artsy hotel with all the sculptures and other artistic touches. Definitely a step up above my usual go to hotels in terms of standards and also prices. All that food also looks amazing!! I think after seeing this I might seriously consider adding a stay at Raffles Singapore when I finally decide to take a trip on the Eastern & Oriental Express.
@@tfft Make sure you book during offpeak periods. Otherwise you would have to wait until u hit 200k+ subs. Its peak season now in Singapore and rates are SGD 2000+ per night for the cheapest suites. My poor brain can't even comprehend paying such prices now XD
Roast Duck Station - they have got me. That breakfast buffet looks great. I walked past Raffles Jimbaran Bay the other day up the side street and all I mean all staff said good morning they knew I wasn't a guest but the friendly hospitality just made you feel welcome and want to change hotels and stay. Great video again. Not too sure what was happening with the intro though.Thank you.🙏👍
Thanks very much. The 'warning' is my response to what seems to be a dichotomy among RUclips travel creators. There are those that are sponsored and don't mention it and there are those that are those that are self funded but perhaps take that fact a bit too seriously. The over the top 20 second clip is the fastest way I can let a new viewer know that I am self-funded, I might gush and/or nit pick and at the end of the day, I appreciate the absurdity that is RUclips 😂- A flavor that not all will enjoy, I understand that haha. It will evolve over time (and is only for videos over 92/100 or under 80/100). Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Man, that warning had me in stitches 😂 I’m still not sure about the aesthetics of the hotel, but everything else looks solid. Awesome review, as usual!
Oh wow, the duck station at breakfast - incredible! Those "bedtime stories" reminded me of staying in a resort in Siem Reap where every evening they left a short Cambodian children's story on the bed which I thought was a nice and unique touch! (We were staying with our 6-year-old daughter so I'm not sure if they did that for each guest).
Just a heads up but your surname can be seen quite clearly on the note at 14:50. Thank you for all your amazing content! I'm a new subscriber and I'be been binging on all your videos these past few days, trying to plan my next trip abroad! Thank you, Sir! Cheers from Switzerland!
@@tfft My pleasure! Your channel is the best and has helped me a lot! I'll be flying to Vietnam soon with EVA Air's 787 Business class and, don't worry, I'll make sure to spend a few nights at the Hyatt in Ho Chi Minh! I would never have thought about these flights/hotels had I not come across your channel and I am forever in your debt, Sir! God bless you and safe travels! 🙏❤️
Fun fact, when Jakarta hosted the Asian Games on 2018, the government provided the dignitaries (olympics members, top asian countries delegates, etc) with 5 stars stays around Jakarta, these included The Mulia, Fairmont, Pullman, Grand Hyatt etc, but the Qatar officials (probably all consisted with princes or pricesses) they refused to stay on those hotels and chose Raffles with their own money (if im not mistaken). I stayed on this hotel before Asian Games and I like the sauna and steam area on the men's locker room. The shopping mall attached to the hotel is from South Korea. The streets in front of the hotel is just terrible.
Yes, Lotte is a Korean conglomerate, but I'd hardly say the mall is any bit Korean besides the name lol. Interesting about the Qatari officials- I have to say I do believe it though. I just finished editing a video of a hotel owned by Katara Hospitality (A Qatar Government owned company) and the furnishings and interiors were second to none. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
@@tfft thx for uploading, been to Hanoi several times, walked pass the Sofitel couple of times, been dreaming to visit Sapa and wanted to check Mercure (cos the french inspired and cable car lol). I really wish you could visit the Langham beside Park Hyatt, but probably next time visit. Have a great day.
Gotcha. FYI, everything in Ba Na is tacky tacky tacky. If you asked me the primary purpose of Ba Na, it would be “wedding photo ops”… But now being outshined a bit by the equally tacky Sun Village in Phú Quốc… also with a nearby cable car lol.
Dude please try St Regis in Jakarta! I've been there and it was amazing. The room I got (the astor suite) was nice and quiet. Unfortunately, it (the room) wasn't that great because it was the old Four Seasons building so they gotta based their design on the old structure. But their service and food were superb, so they balanced it out.
Bathtubs are essential to me. I love the yellow. I love the art. I dislike grey and the mechanical look of what is in style today, not to mention its discomfort. I really appreciate your videos.

great review! Im heading to jakarta with my 21 yr old daughter next May. Trying to find a hotel connected to a mall. Did you get a chance to see how big or small the mall is? Thanks for any info.
By SE Asian standards I’d say it’s pretty small. If a mall is a priority, you should select a hotel near the Selamat Datang monument. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Since you review a lot of SEA locations, any plans to travel to the Philippines? Hoping to visit sometime next year and would love to see reviews of 5 star hotels there.
I’m hoping to make my way there in the 2nd half of 2023, but the sad truth is the hotel selection (especially 5 stars) isn’t that large, especially outside of Manila compared to any of the other countries in the region. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Hii um huge fan of the channel (been watching your content on and off for a while), anyways im going for my first solo trip w my girlfriend to phuket and intend to make it a memorable one. Do you have any recommendations (preferably not too expensive) for me? Preferably accor properties as my family has a membership there i can use, but not as important as having a memorable time there. Thanks :)
Accor really doesn’t have that many exciting properties in Phuket. My top choice would have to be the Pullman Naithon which I’ve reviewed on channel, followed by the other Pullman (Panwa) which is in consideration for my next Phuket trip in the spring. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
@@tfft Thanks! Realized that the accor card cant be used as it is under my dads name, should i still stick to pullman arcadia if thats the case? Rather low budget as Im still a broke uni student haha. Thanks :)
Pullman pulls it’s weight a bit above its price tag so yes you’d probably be happy. But, I would consider looking at three different local brands, two of which I’ve had fantastic experiences with and one which I’ll visit on my next trip to Phuket. They do not have the name recognition that mega chains have so you’ll likely pay less and get more- instead of paying for the name. They are COMO, SALA and SAii. SAii Phi Phi, COMO Point Yamu and SALA Mai Khao are literally my top three ranked hotels for my next trip out of 25+ properties on my short list. You can find reviews for SALA and COMO on my channel.
errm, asking for a friend here, how many of us like to collect amenities, as souvenirs of course or may be being environmentally conscious and you dont want that half a tube of shower gel get tossed?
Surely many more than will admit it in public :) Personally I could never carry them all with the number of hotels I goto. So my rule is I can take ONE only if it’s really good and then when I come across one that’s better, I’ll trade it for that. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
