Tim, the wooden mold in the shape of a foot is called a ‘Shoe Tree’, it is designed to keep leather shoes in shape. The fur lined case is for a man’s spectacles, watch or rings. I only know this because my grandparents had those accessories in their home.
One of the best videos you’ve done Tim, really enjoyed that. Obviously it’s one of the best hotels in the world but I love how your approach never changes. I loved the guided tour around the cigar rooms and the books were amazing!
Compared to the last Ibiza hotel, this was cheaper and the whole hotel and experience looks stunning. I’d love to have enough money to visit and have an afternoon tea there. 😊
I live in Doha and I can tell you there is no other hotel like this.. Tim could have said that the Al Thani ruling family bought the Raffles group ( and have totally renovated the first Raffles in Singapore back to its original state ) and as you can see have spared no expense here! It’s actually specifically designed for a woman’s hand bag. They are made in half circles and/or full circles. They hold a luxury hand bag without causing creases to the strap.
Quite frankly, I was amazed by the hotel! It looked fantastic, and other than your ‘average burger’, everything about the place was worth every penny! Compared to the concert hotel in Ibiza, this, as a hotel, was LEAGUES better - at almost half the price (I realise that it is low season)! The hotel in Ibiza was an experience, but I would stay here any day of the week! Wow! Thanks for showing us Tim! I loved it! Look forward to the next one!❤
That shower sounds like it's auditioning for a sci-fi movie-LEDs, jets from all directions, and a mystery RGB light show! The attention to detail in this hotel is truly remarkable. From the crystal chandeliers to the luxurious amenities, it’s clear they’ve thought of everything to make your stay special. The secret room in the cigar lounge with first edition books sounds amazing. Did you get a chance to read any of them or learn more about their history?
The wooden shoe shapers at the bottom with gold! It tells you how luxury it is when it has both round ended and point ended shoe shapers. To answer if anyone doesn't know they are used ti keep your leather shoes in shape and avoid them from having the crease where you walk.
That burger was indeed 100% beef. Wagyu cattle are bred especially for the marbled meat, which is very tender and tends to be very fatty as a result. Not my cup of tea, but for those that like it, that's a good looking Wagyu burger.
its a waste to use wagyu as mince and made into a burger patty. High quality wagyu is like you said, known for their fantastic marbling and texture, most of which is just lost when you mince the meat.
I agree - that’s what happens when you use Wagyu beef for a burger. Burgers are best made from cheaper cuts from a flavour and texture perspective. Keep the Wagyu for steaks!!!
OMG That shower is seriously out of this world, and it fits TEN people in. What a party you could have 😂. This Hotel is one of the best you have shown. Absolutely love it. Thank you for bringing us along and you didn’t keep it all to yourself 😮😂❤
I really don't care for the overall shape of the hotel but the creativity and attention to detail inside really win me over. It really is a destination and experience hotel for sure.
This is the second video that I have noticed that folk do not know what a shoe fit or shoe stretcher is mainly for your very nice leather shoes. This a brilliant video. In a hotel I would never be able to stay in .Thank you for sharing your stay.
This hotel is leagues above the other hotels you've done recently. Those were overpriced and filthy. This one seems spotless. But I myself prefer something cozy and quirky and genuine. This is too much "luxury" and not my cup of tea. Thanks for the video Tim. 🤩
10:27 those are called shoe stretchers. They are used to loosen/stretch shoes. They're very handy, I own a couple myself. Very useful to have if you buy a shoe that you like, but it's slightly too tight, things like that. There are also plenty of videos here on RUclips regarding how to use them.
Hi Tim. The wood forms that look like wood feet are called Shoe Forms ... They were popular back in the day to preserve the shape of men's shoes to keep them looking like new. ( ;
Stayed on the other side, fairmont. Was absolutely incredible as well, you should have checked out the spa and the gym. You were also allowed access to other swimming pools in fairmont and raffles
The hotel was named after British statesman Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, the founder of modern Singapore. It is the flagship property of Raffles Hotels & Resorts, and is managed by AccorHotels after Accor acquired FRHI Hotels & Resorts. The hotel is owned by Qatar-based, government-owned Katara Hospitality.
@@Gri-n9l Katara in arabic means it drips water in Arabic. and I doubt its a curse. if anything the greek got cursed anyways meanwhile Qatar flourishing
At 10:15 Those are shoe trees. They help keep your shoes in shape when you aren't wearing them and they help a lot to smooth out creases in the leather where your foot bends when you walk. They're also a big help when you polish your shoes.
10:26 those are shoe forms, they are for keeping the shape of traditional shoes. You put them in the shoe to get the deformity out of the show from storage and/or use.
As a bookworm I loved the tour of the cigar rooms and all the books. First Edition doesn't mean the only copy, first edition is the first time a publisher releases a book, usually without any major edits therefore it's true to what the author wrote which is why they are so valuable. There are multiple copies printed as part of the First Edition release. The next print is then the second edition which may include edits.

that hairy thing is for shoe shine. The shoe shape wood is called shoe tree. it is placed inside the shoes to maintain the good shape of the shoes. The round leather beside the hangers is new to me too but it looks like thats where you hang your leather belt.
The little hairy thing in the drawer is to shine the shoes? You might be right. Too bad he didn't ask the butler the features he had in his room. It looked like mink fur. I though it might be to polish a sword, some cultures carry a ceremonial sword for dancing . If it was for shoes, it would have been in the box with the shoe horn and the brush. The hotel in Ibiza was an experience, but I would stay here any day of the week! Wow! Thanks for showing us Tim! I loved it! Look forward to the next one!❤
Totally agree!
Too bad they overcooked it though ;-)
its a waste to use wagyu as mince and made into a burger patty.
@@urbi38 because of the ratio of fat in wagyu meat, it's really hard to cook a burger to medium/rare otherwise the fat wouldn't render.
@@urbi38You can guess Tim ordered a well done burger! Come on!
£600 less than the ibiza hotel yet a million times better, what a hotel 😮
Agreed. Money can't buy you class
@@Emma-mk8jvyou’re saying this Qatari mess is class? ROFL.
Better in architecture and design. Looked empty, lifeless, and not very fun to me…I’ll take Ibiza, any day..over this place…
@mashenka6189
Nonsense! For some. Solitude like this is heaven!
Yeah I prefer the solitude.
OMG That shower is seriously out of this world, and it fits TEN people in. What a party you could have 😂. This Hotel is one of the best you have shown. Absolutely love it. Thank you for bringing us along and you didn’t keep it all to yourself 😮😂❤
oh don't worry - he confesses @ 23:30 that he "had an Italian last night."
Okay, this is what luxury should look like. Amazing! Probably one of the very best you’ve reviewed, Tim?
Fascinating - never seen anything quite like this. Very original and well shot - I was riveted right through the end - well done!
Omg the TV works!
So this is about the 5th luxury hotel video on your channel that I have watched this weekend and Raffles wins for true luxury!
25:48 That room is so cozy and chill. I could sleep there all day 😂🤣
Stunning lobby.
Tim thank you for the tour. You had a butler, it would have been really interesting to have seen him in the video showing how to use everything.
he didn't want to be filmed so i respect that
This hotel is leagues above the other hotels you've done recently. Those were overpriced and filthy. This one seems spotless. But I myself prefer something cozy and quirky and genuine. This is too much "luxury" and not my cup of tea. Thanks for the video Tim. 🤩
@@krisnapv3063 the hotel is still new. I don't think it's up to 2years old. So let's wait till it's up to atleast a decade old
It’s open less than2 years give it time. 😅
@@Ezeugo_1 100%.
10:27 those are called shoe stretchers. They are used to loosen/stretch shoes. They're very handy, I own a couple myself. Very useful to have if you buy a shoe that you like, but it's slightly too tight, things like that. There are also plenty of videos here on RUclips regarding how to use them.
@@neferazure isn't it more no mantain the shoe shape?
All I can say is how do you beat this... amazing never seen anything like this....
Hi Tim. The wood forms that look like wood feet are called Shoe Forms ... They were popular back in the day to preserve the shape of men's shoes to keep them looking like new. ( ;
Stayed on the other side, fairmont. Was absolutely incredible as well, you should have checked out the spa and the gym. You were also allowed access to other swimming pools in fairmont and raffles
Yes. He didn’t show us the spa nor the gym..usually he shows all the resort amenities..
@@mashenka6189 the spa is incredible, nothing like I’ve seen before
Completely awesome. The wind rumbling through the doors wouldn't bother me in terms of sleep. Breakfast looked great and loved the lobby.
Is that right?. I thought it might have been named after the fictional jewel thief "A.J. Raffles". Extremely impressive hotel.
Katara in Greek means Curse😂
Not listed on their website as a flagship..
Interesting. I’ll never give one dollar to the Qatar government. People should research which nefarious groups they fund.
By far the most luxurious room I have ever seen. Well done Raffles and love your content Tim!
Exceptional hotel. You're so lucky Tim doing something you love.
The absolute shear beauty and detail of this property is truly 6 ⭐️’s
Oh wow the hotel is absolutely beautiful, the bedroom and bathroom was stunning. Love the Harry Potter ceiling 🥰🥰
10:26 those are shoe forms, they are for keeping the shape of traditional shoes. You put them in the shoe to get the deformity out of the show from storage and/or use.
It’s surprising how the Middle East hotels are way more luxurious than American and European hotels 🏨
Thank you!
Incredibly beautiful hotel.
They raised the bar with this one. Just wow. Love your hotel tours!
That library!!!! What a haven in luxury! Putting this place on my bucket list just to visit the library....
Love your videos! Very entertaining without being pretentious. Your not recognizing shoe trees gave me a chuckle, but made me feel old!
I'm Blown Away by the Price! .... I Can Afford It!
I felt the same when he said the price. I wasn't expecting it to be under 1000
We can in summer but not in winter when its popular - everywhere I google says do not go in summer its just too hot - travel insurance commpanies say not to go due ot heatstroke!!! Though Id probably not leave the hotel!
@@Orca2015900 pounds for one night
@@Orca2015Tim paid £ 926 for one night, with bed and breakfast 😊
@@irishchick6315in winter it’s the almost same price as it is in the summer, dohas prices slightly increase a bit in the winter but not as drastic as dubai. The same suite he got is available for 815 pounds in December which is actually cheaper then the amount he paid for
I watch/listen to Tim’s channel when I need to destress and calm down while finishing my Masters degree. It really helps me refresh and refocus while I study. Otherwise, it would be a lot less fun and quite stressful. Thanks, Tim! 🎉
Good luck 🍀 👍
@@lindavis224 Thank you!
Good luck
@@WalkWithMeTim Thank you! 🙏
All I can say is WOW! Love it! ❤️
Glad you like it!
that hairy thing is for shoe shine.
Anyway, you were the only one commenting on it.
Such a beautifully crafted video! 🎥 The focus on the intricate details of the resort really stood out and made it special! ❤
Tim, can you spend a minute showing us the menu offerings and some food tasting? Us foodies want to know!!
Absolutely beautiful hotel and the attention to detail is outstanding, I’d definitely stay there. You were like a kid in a sweet shop when you were opening all the drawers and cupboards! You can sense the atmosphere of the hotel too, the staff seemed very efficient. Good price too - I was shocked!!
I always watch you on my tv, so I never really comment. I had to come to my phone today to say an outstanding wow woooooooo on this hotel. It's opulence untold..... blown away, and thank you for sharing all your amazing adventures and jokes ...I love them all
Wow, thank you!
Oh my gosh. Out of all resorts, hotels, etc, this one is the most impressive one you have shared. That suite, OMG, I would have so much fun exploring all the nooks and crannies!!
Wow! 6 star hotel for sure. Everything from the lobby to the room is astounding. The architecture is eye popping impressive. Worth the money (if you have it). Thanks for taking us with you!
