Hi - those wooden forms shaped like a foot, are 'shoe forms'. If you wear nice, leather shoes, you insert them to keep your shoes shaped well. Or the one with the turn screw, you can use to extend the shape of a leather shoe (length or width). The small case with the 'furry' lining, is for your eyewear. When not wearing your best lenses, this is a nice case in which to store them.

As a bookworm I loved the tour of the cigar rooms and all the books. First Edition doesn't mean the only copy, first edition is the first time a publisher releases a book, usually without any major edits therefore it's true to what the author wrote which is why they are so valuable. There are multiple copies printed as part of the First Edition release. The next print is then the second edition which may include edits.

At 10:15 Those are shoe trees. They help keep your shoes in shape when you aren't wearing them and they help a lot to smooth out creases in the leather where your foot bends when you walk. They're also a big help when you polish your shoes.
10:26 those are shoe forms, they are for keeping the shape of traditional shoes. You put them in the shoe to get the deformity out of the show from storage and/or use.

The wall with the touchscreen in the shower room is the controls for steam and other things you can choose from. I didn’t see well the other options but most like intensity of the side water, and so on. That’s why you have a seat there. It’s not just a regular shower. It’s more than that.

10:24 they are shoe trees to go in your shoes to keep shape of them & the cedar wood ones draw the moisture out.
The hotel was named after British statesman Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, the founder of modern Singapore. It is the flagship property of Raffles Hotels & Resorts, and is managed by AccorHotels after Accor acquired FRHI Hotels & Resorts. The hotel is owned by Qatar-based, government-owned Katara Hospitality.
Is that right?. I thought it might have been named after the fictional jewel thief "A.J. Raffles". Extremely impressive hotel.
Katara in Greek means Curse😂
Not listed on their website as a flagship..
Interesting. I’ll never give one dollar to the Qatar government. People should research which nefarious groups they fund.
@@Gri-n9l Katara in arabic means it drips water in Arabic. and I doubt its a curse. if anything the greek got cursed anyways meanwhile Qatar flourishing
The shoe thing is to go inside your shoes to help them keep their shape. Also super handy when polishing them.
Thank you!
This is the second video that I have noticed that folk do not know what a shoe fit or shoe stretcher is mainly for your very nice leather shoes. This a brilliant video. In a hotel I would never be able to stay in .Thank you for sharing your stay.
I believe the shower option you didn't understand was for the steam option. I believe it's a steam shower. Unbelievable room. Lovely.
One of the best videos you’ve done Tim, really enjoyed that. Obviously it’s one of the best hotels in the world but I love how your approach never changes. I loved the guided tour around the cigar rooms and the books were amazing!
Hands down, this is the most beautiful hotel and hotel suite you have shown us so far. I absolutely adore.❤❤ Greetings from Atlanta ,GA.
We agree!
Omg this hotel is incredible, love the shower I reckon 12 people at a squeeze could fit😂😊😊😊
By far the nicest hotel you have ever shown us Tim. The attention to details is just astounding.
I would settle for the cheese plate and the crudities at this point. GORGEOUS
You pull the curtain back and show us these amazing hotels that most of us will never get to stay in. I love your videos.
Compared to the last Ibiza hotel, this was cheaper and the whole hotel and experience looks stunning. I’d love to have enough money to visit and have an afternoon tea there. 😊
I'm Blown Away by the Price! .... I Can Afford It!
I felt the same when he said the price. I wasn't expecting it to be under 1000
We can in summer but not in winter when its popular - everywhere I google says do not go in summer its just too hot - travel insurance commpanies say not to go due ot heatstroke!!! Though Id probably not leave the hotel!
@@Orca2015900 pounds for one night
@@Orca2015Tim paid £ 926 for one night, with bed and breakfast 😊
@@irishchick6315in winter it’s the almost same price as it is in the summer, dohas prices slightly increase a bit in the winter but not as drastic as dubai. The same suite he got is available for 815 pounds in December which is actually cheaper then the amount he paid for
This hotel is leagues above the other hotels you've done recently. Those were overpriced and filthy. This one seems spotless. But I myself prefer something cozy and quirky and genuine. This is too much "luxury" and not my cup of tea. Thanks for the video Tim. 🤩
@@krisnapv3063 the hotel is still new. I don't think it's up to 2years old. So let's wait till it's up to atleast a decade old
It’s open less than2 years give it time. 😅
@@Ezeugo_1 100%.
This is by far the best hotel you’ve stayed at! The level of attention to detail is quite exceptional. Everything is perfect.
OMG That shower is seriously out of this world, and it fits TEN people in. What a party you could have 😂. This Hotel is one of the best you have shown. Absolutely love it. Thank you for bringing us along and you didn’t keep it all to yourself 😮😂❤
oh don't worry - he confesses @ 23:30 that he "had an Italian last night."
The ring in the wardrobe is for things like silk scarves. And yes the thing on the table is a watch and or bracelet holder
Or for men’s belts or ties?
Havn't seen a dirty laundry tote ? !!
It’s actually specifically designed for a woman’s hand bag. They are made in half circles and/or full circles. They hold a luxury hand bag without causing creases to the strap.
@@chrisjenkins203 would make sense as a half circle, but a closed circle… not all are detachable and no handles are so that doesn’t add up
I live in Doha and I can tell you there is no other hotel like this.. Tim could have said that the Al Thani ruling family bought the Raffles group ( and have totally renovated the first Raffles in Singapore back to its original state ) and as you can see have spared no expense here! Come to Doha, no need to worry about wearing your fancy watch outdoors, or beggars hassling you and no need to bring your stab vest! It’s always sunny in Qatar!
Let’s not mention the human rights issues hey David
The control panel in the shower is for steam and change of light colour. Awesome hotel, btw. 😍
Honestly, the cigar room would have made me cry with happiness. I think I would have spent all day there!
@@tereasia That room was truly amazing.
Omg the TV works!
So this is about the 5th luxury hotel video on your channel that I have watched this weekend and Raffles wins for true luxury!
The wall with the touchscreen in the shower room is the controls for steam and other things you can choose from. I didn’t see well the other options but most like intensity of the side water, and so on. That’s why you have a seat there. It’s not just a regular shower. It’s more than that.
Does a shower need to be so fancy?
@@Roadent1241 Sometimes
@@Roadent1241 The entire hotel is built from unnecessary fanciness so why should the shower be any different? It's like you are complaining that it's too good. If you don't want a fancy shower stay in a travel lodge.
I googled the name of the shower thing and like you said it was also a steam cubicle. Very posh
I'd imagine the RGB would illuminate the water stream from the shower as well
Ultra luxury all over the place. Simply awesome, simply stunning place! Thanks for featuring this most iconic hotel in Doha!
Been with you since the very beginning Tim and your walks around the east coast during those hard times ! Actually inspired me to start my own walking channel and see where it goes ! Always excited when a new Walk with me Tim video comes up , never disappointed. This video is no exception what a unique place and so gorgeous and the structure kinda reminds me of a roller coaster 🤔🧐😂
means alot , thank you .. good luck with the channel
Quite frankly, I was amazed by the hotel! It looked fantastic, and other than your ‘average burger’, everything about the place was worth every penny! Compared to the concert hotel in Ibiza, this, as a hotel, was LEAGUES better - at almost half the price (I realise that it is low season)! The hotel in Ibiza was an experience, but I would stay here any day of the week! Wow! Thanks for showing us Tim! I loved it! Look forward to the next one!❤
Totally agree!
Stayed on the other side, fairmont. Was absolutely incredible as well, you should have checked out the spa and the gym. You were also allowed access to other swimming pools in fairmont and raffles
Yes. He didn’t show us the spa nor the gym..usually he shows all the resort amenities..
@@mashenka6189 the spa is incredible, nothing like I’ve seen before
that cigar lounge was amazing! what an absolutely gorgeous hotel.
I’d love to stay in hotel like this some day! The man giving you the tour and info on all the books in the cigar room was my fave part!
That shower sounds like it's auditioning for a sci-fi movie-LEDs, jets from all directions, and a mystery RGB light show! The attention to detail in this hotel is truly remarkable. From the crystal chandeliers to the luxurious amenities, it’s clear they’ve thought of everything to make your stay special. The secret room in the cigar lounge with first edition books sounds amazing. Did you get a chance to read any of them or learn more about their history?
I think it's the best hotel room I've ever seen.
10:27 those are called shoe stretchers. They are used to loosen/stretch shoes. They're very handy, I own a couple myself. Very useful to have if you buy a shoe that you like, but it's slightly too tight, things like that. There are also plenty of videos here on RUclips regarding how to use them.
@@neferazure isn't it more no mantain the shoe shape?
Okay, this is what luxury should look like. Amazing! Probably one of the very best you’ve reviewed, Tim?
10:26 is meant for you to put inside your shoes so they don’t get creased
I agree with all the posters listed below. Extremely beautiful. But where are the other guests? Looks like a super luxurious ghost town!
Fascinating - never seen anything quite like this. Very original and well shot - I was riveted right through the end - well done!
£600 less than the ibiza hotel yet a million times better, what a hotel 😮
Agreed. Money can't buy you class
@@Emma-mk8jvyou’re saying this Qatari mess is class? ROFL.
Better in architecture and design. Looked empty, lifeless, and not very fun to me…I’ll take Ibiza, any day..over this place…
@mashenka6189
Nonsense! For some. Solitude like this is heaven!
Yeah I prefer the solitude.
Tim thank you for the tour. You had a butler, it would have been really interesting to have seen him in the video showing how to use everything.
he didn't want to be filmed so i respect that
That's sun/eye glass purse and that mirror lights are so lovely 😍
the mirror facing the mirror effect was awesome
Exceptional hotel. You're so lucky Tim doing something you love.
Absolutely beautiful hotel and the attention to detail is outstanding, I’d definitely stay there. You were like a kid in a sweet shop when you were opening all the drawers and cupboards! You can sense the atmosphere of the hotel too, the staff seemed very efficient. Good price too - I was shocked!!
The absolute shear beauty and detail of this property is truly 6 ⭐️’s
That is such an amazing hotel room, I'm beyond words Tim lol- thank you for showcasing this to your subscribers, very much appreciated, glad you had an amazing and unforgettable experience.
Love your videos! Very entertaining without being pretentious. Your not recognizing shoe trees gave me a chuckle, but made me feel old!
They raised the bar with this one. Just wow. Love your hotel tours!
I have never seen a Tim video without him being "gutted" about something. I thought for sure this would be the first. This place was incredible. Then with five seconds left in the forty minute video...🙃love the videos!
I think Tim is hilarious! Love his accent too! ❤️
@@laurastone6578 Think he should DRESS UP a little when staying in those places ! not playint I am the groomer !
and ... a pity these wonderful hotels are merely empty : it makes the vidéos a bit dull too ... why not having a glimpse (discreet) on the locals OR rich visitors (must be rich for staying there !)
i didn't look smart then .. ? i didn't see anyone walking around in a suite ;- )
Incredibly beautiful hotel.
What a lovely apartment...If there was a kitchen, I could see myself living there!!
25:48 That room is so cozy and chill. I could sleep there all day 😂🤣
Gorgeous! If you can't figure out how all of the room gadgets work, you should ask the staff to show you - in a place like that, they'd be happy to help - then you get an even better experience there, and once you've leaned them, you can show them to us too!
I don't think he stays long enough to worry.
Completely awesome. The wind rumbling through the doors wouldn't bother me in terms of sleep. Breakfast looked great and loved the lobby.
I always watch you on my tv, so I never really comment. I had to come to my phone today to say an outstanding wow woooooooo on this hotel. It's opulence untold..... blown away, and thank you for sharing all your amazing adventures and jokes ...I love them all
Wow, thank you!
