    This is NOT a promotional video. I pay for all of my flights and hotels (and I always tell you how much!) so I can be as honest and impartial as possible. I do not receive any special treatment that wouldn’t otherwise be publicly accessible, in fact, the hotels and airlines have no idea about my visit and that's the way I like it!

    I have to say, given that hotels in India are generally not very expensive, on a trip to Bengaluru I absolutely wouldn't hesitate to spend $360 on a place like this for even just one night. I spent only $150 less on a chain hotel in Denver, Colorado.

    Beautifully photographed - you've really highlighted much of the detail that a passing traveler would have missed. I agree with you that India will rise over the next decade as a new upmarket travel destination. The transportation infrastructure is already in place. Marketing and high end leisure activities need to follow.

    Great hotel plus great video. I’m glad many top Indian hotels are uniquely ‘Indian’ in its architecture, interior design, food, lush green setting and landscaping and hospitality. A sensational video. A most articulate account of a magnificent hotel property with super background music. I had to chuckle to myself when you stated you couldn’t explain how good the service was for dinner. If you cannot articulate few can. Good on you

    I stayed at Leela Palace Bangalore for around 15 days last year. Really spectacular hotel! Agree with all the points you made in the video. I do agree the breakfast could be a little better but the service was amazing! Since I stayed for a long period the staff would greet me by name, and often have what I usually order ready for me. If I was getting late they would be kind enough to pack my coffee too. I really dont find this level of service anywhere else!

    I enjoy your videos Kevin! I have just watched this one as I had been to India recently for 5 weeks! Bengaluru will be a place I go back to visit one day! A question for you - would you consider including filming of the gym facilities that you stay in as part of your content? Personally, I base my hotel option/s on ensuring they have a great gym facility too.

    • @tfft
      @tfft  7 месяцев назад

      Generally (probably around 80% of the time) I do include gym clips in my videos, but only when it wouldn’t make other guests feel uncomfortable. Usually I’ll scope it out three times for an empty room before giving up. Thanks for watching 🩴

    Hi Just one correction Nilgiri is not the flower that blooms once it 12 years but its a different tree, the oil from nilgiri is used for aches and is very good, it refreshes well but has a pretty strong fragrance. Normally you might know its name as Eucalyptus, Kurinji is the plant whose flowers bloom once in 12 years. you were spot on when you said Breakfast at Oberoi is better, specially their masala dosa for breakfast :)

    • @tfft
      @tfft  Год назад +3

      Yes someone else mentioned it. When I was researching I saw info pointing towards both eucalyptus and the 12 year flower… since the soap smelled absolutely nothing like eucalyptus, I assumed it was the other one. Learn something nee everyday 😉

    • @harishramaiah2503

    Quality vlog as always. A breath of fresh air with some unbiased opinion in today’s world. Just a few questions:
    - why 4 months delay in uploading the India trip videos
    - are you planning any subscriber meet when you visit India next
    - Is this the highest ever hotel rating (98/100) which you ever gave to any property
    - when are we going to see your face 😊

    • @tfft
      @tfft  Год назад +6

      -I upload in the order I shoot, 2-3 videos per week. I don’t edit when I’m on the road so building in a delay is necessary.
      -No, that would defeat the purpose of trying to keep my reviews anonymous.
      -There’s been higher 😉
      -When I’m done doing true reviews

    Kudos to you for the research into surfacing the little details, like the ingredients that went into Tishya toiletries. Just wanted to mention Nilgiri is actually Eucalyptus, whose essential oils are a key element of many premium toiletries. The flower the blooms once in twelve years is Neelkurinji which has no fragrance. Just a minor correction - taking nothing away from your spectacular work.

    • @tfft
      @tfft  Год назад +5

      Interesting. When I was researching it I do remember some materials referring eucalyptus, but now- I’m not sure why I went with the 12 year bloom narrative… possibly just bc it doesn’t smell anything like eucalyptus to me. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻

    wow, this hotel has a modern design but can still give a traditional feel, and get a sense of traditional depth but doesn't look old and out of date... even in my opinion, when compared to the Sofitel Legend Metropole in Hanoi, the feel of this hotel is still far superior in terms of in terms of local traditional taste although sofitel hanoi is also good.... yep this hotel is now the best I've seen on your RUclips channel so far..😳

    One thing you missed completely is trying luxury palaces of Udaipur , the Venice of the east ( or lake city ). Because missing those places is actually missing the real luxury I believe which provides you not only a great room but the views around the room. It's like trying a luxury hotel in Athens but not in Santorini or Mykanos. But I hope you definitely do that in future. Very nice video 🙏

    It is a great place making you feel at home in luxurious setting. As I have said before beauty lies in eyes of beholder and taste varies from individual to individual. Success of any place depends on ability to make you feel comfortable and at home while still offering new experience at the place. Glad to say this place has woman's touch and as name implies it is Leela's touch. Great place. Truly home away from home. All Leela palaces are beautiful and comfortable created with guests' unique experience in mind. I strongly recommend. Dr. Kumar Mehta

      Still I am not convinced, There's a suit in the hotel named after Mysore Maharaja suit which is the costliest one, the designs of pillars in the portico and the paintings in the hotel..all of Mysore royal painting's replicas...
      When I was working in Karnataka State government Secretariat in Infrastructure Development Department in 2001-02,the hotel management was extended sales tax, entry tax exemptions under the state tourism policy for being unique hotel of its kind...I remember, I was Under Secretary to GoK then.....
