    One of my favorite songs from them. Excellent job. I have never learned any version of it until now. These campfire versions are great and very digestible. Even though Chris' chord changes are maddening because they are harder, at least for me, to set to memory at first. But that's where the genius lies.
    Keep up the great work Ryan

      Well Seasons has claimed another victim, my B string. I first did your capo 3 tuning and had great success. Then I though I’m just going to try the real tuning. Snap. It’s time for new strings on Niki anyway. I guess I’ll be staying with the capo 3 and stay away from that forbidden fruit.

    • @Slogmann
      @Slogmann 5 лет назад +2

      Yeah, the real tuning is really only viable if you replace the A and G strings with E and B strings, like Ryan mentioned in the video. Although I am pleased to report that my old Spanish guitar has been in Seasons tuning for nearly 2 weeks now with everything still intact. Maybe nylon strings are the way to go, at least when we're practicing at home? :)

    • @RyanLendt
      @RyanLendt  5 лет назад +2

      I'm just glad i took the time to explain the methodology of the tune down capo up method on this video, you wouldn't believe how much flack i took on the last video from people thinking I didn't understand that D&A plus 3 = F&C. And now we know sloth's secret, the SSNS's (super stretchy nylon strings!)

    This tuning (FFCCCF) is "the right one" acording to the studio version, but to make it sound right you should need to setup your guitar on that tuning. I mean, truss rod adjustment, string action (height of each string), intonation, etc. Otherwise, when you play on higher frets it will sound out of tune even when it sounds right while tuning each open string. Years ago I played this song without capo, so I tuned my guitar right ahead on FFCCCF (no capo), and there is a real risk of breaking strings during tuning. I broke higher strings very often every time I wanted to play this song. So, I would recommed to play Seasons on the tuning that appears on the previous tutorial (FCFCCF instead of FFCCCF using capo) because the only string you have to tune up is G to A, also there are two strings (5th and 4th) that you dont need to change its tuning and, finally, the intonation, string action, and all those issues that affect your tuning on higher frets are mostly gone. Thanks Ryan for your work. Now I will play this one more often without breaking strings. Cheers man.

    • @RyanLendt
      @RyanLendt  5 лет назад +2

      haha! Thank you for lending an arm to my previous effort Vicente, and for that info :) I did notice I was not pleased with the intonation as I was doing this video.

    That G still sounds good if you tune it down to B.

    • @RyanLendt
      @RyanLendt  5 лет назад +1

      Yes, I pondered tuning the G down, that would be a tripled note then, and totally still seasons :) You absolutely might have been uncle Mat - the livestreams are a bit of a blur with all the names flashing by, I do apologize for not recalling :) and now that this tuning isn't such of a mystery, we must do the day i tried to live in the actual tuning! anyhow, thanks for everything friend :) I drive through cleveland on my way to detroit every summer. I'll scream out the window this time and you let me know if you hear me.

    • @foilhatters5132
      @foilhatters5132 4 года назад

      Uncle Mat correct.... someone actually asked Chris on his twitter. The original recorded was FFCCCF but live and Chris's answer on twitter, low to high was EEBBBE. I restrung and tuned a guitar for seasons just like this w/ the G down to B. 😉 messed up and broke it tuning up so just put a B string on 🤘🏼

    Just watched Rick Beato's lesson on this, sounds quite different and I dare say closer to the original song. Or at least Rick's utilisation of the open A and D strings in relative shapes where you're playing essentially power chords sounds much better in an acoustic setting. Would be interesting if you could take a peek too and share your thoughts 👍

    • @RyanLendt
      @RyanLendt  3 года назад +2

      I haven't watched Mr. B's video, the only thing I can tell you with 100% confidence is that this is how Chris played Seasons, adjusted for the fact that I put a capo on and tuned accordingly in order to avoid having to put a different set of strings on my guitar, which chris would have definitely done to make this tuning work. Of course we can talk back and forth at each other until the cows come home, so this was a mostly useless reply I am well aware :)

      I'm getting lucky with mine, its hangin' in there. Got some new strings and decided to tune my guitar to this song before I change them out.
      Of course I went straight to your video(s) to learn it.
      Thanks Rayn, I've learned alot of songs from your videos.

    This tuning section was a mess. Why not put the tuning as it would be open and display it on the screen and then put the capo on? I had to rewind 5 times to figure out what you were tuning everything to because you kept talking about what the open string is tuned to but left the capo on.

      Tune your strings to DADAAD and then put your Capo on the 3rd fret. This is how I learned it. Good luck Bud. Let me know how you make out.

    RYAN VS RYAN----Ryan's Toy Review got 15,086 subs iIN ONE DAY!!!! On Saturday 5/11/19.....HOLY SMOKES!!!!------ Adult Ryan, listen to me, you gotta put your lazy turtle to work now and get after this Kid Ryan. How about on your next video, you buy the turtle some new toys and unbox them in front of him? Maybe that will boost your views and subs? What do you think?

      hahaha. Keep the ideas coming :) My lofty theory is that if I steer clear of gimmicks and put out quality information (to the best of my ability) I'll attract the right audience. and to be totally honest, I think I'm growing a lot faster than it seems. Example: first million views - 30 months. Second million views, 7-8 months (currently 1.6). First thousand subs - 18 months. nearly three years in it's roughly a thousand subs per month now. It seems slow here in the middle of the eye of the storm, but when you zoom out the acceleration is obvious. Plus, there's some numbers for you to chew on ;)

      I loved all of matt's talking. he was so classy. (these are my thoughts as i watch it) I thought it was hilarious Stone chose the easy way out on seasons. I felt so special seeing audioslave. Dave grohl added to the night by playing everlong, while metallica detracted from the night by playing so many of theirs and treating it like a metallica show. I picked up Tom Morello's arms up like a V move for my own repertoire from that show. Why was miley cyrus there? Stone's comment to her was HILARIOUS. I ran into one of chris' daughters and told her her singing was beautiful and she gave me the warmest smile and thank you. that might have been my favorite thing, even more than running into Matt C, and I wish i'd have given her my track with zoey and asked if she'd like to write together. you miss 100% of the shots you don't take :) END OF REACTIONS! thanks for the trip down memory lane :)

      Ryan Lendt what an amazing night for you. And yes Matt C is a really class act. Watching Soundgarden’s three members play together was really poignant knowing there is a good chance we may never see it again.
