- I was at that same Soundgarden show as Mike in '97 at Blaisdell! Big fan so I was saddened as well. Mike called and said he wanted to come over and give a tribute to the late and truly great Chris Cornell and so thanks to Mike, for a message we should all try to remember and for sharing some of Cornell's soulful emotion. And thank you for listening and sharing. Aloha!
I have to stop by every once in a while and watch this amazing performance. And every time I sit in awe . Such a fantastic job bro. Thank you
Same. I’ve been coming back since the first day it was posted.
100% agree. I listen every now and again and I'm equally blown away every time. Heartfelt tribute to Chris.
@@MustObeyTheRules right there with ya.
Looks like we're a group, here.
Me too.. Beautiful cover
I think he would have loved this version.
Yes i agree, Chris would have loved your vesion Mike!!!......awsome tribute!!!
I'm sure he would! Oh fuck, I miss him so much...
So do I. Beautiful tribute through his spoken words & singing beautiful Chris's song. Lovely tone to Mike's voice.
We do now❣️🤷♀️
Wow beautiful version. Great tribute. Respect.
This is my absolute favorite tribute of Chris'... and I've seen them all. Mike's performance kills me every time. In terms of his emotional investment in what Chris contributed to the culture of humanity in the past 30 years and his incredible talent. His prologue to the music, his ability to absorb Chris' thoughts and pain, is a superhuman set of skills and capabilities. Seasons is Chris's very first steps outside the shadow of Soundgarden. No Kim, Ben, Matt, Hiro or Jason. This performance absolutely adds to Chris' legacy as a songwriter.... and more simply a conveyor of emotions and heart and feel. A set of skills that most of this earth's population, and certainly myself lack more often than not. Thank you Mike Love for the bravery to put yourself out there like all the great artists before you. And damn dude, you can play and sing.
The mirror shows another face, another Face to hide it all. This is so true and you explain it so well, we need to help each other. I loved Chris Cornell and his talent since the beginning days of Sound Garden, Temple of the Dog, etc. As I sit in my garage contemplating life, this song and your tribute brings me back. He was truly a great soul. Thank you brother.
I was a teenager when the Seattle scene hit. There's something to those bands, their music was something deep. Made me become a musician like many others but mostly a fan so I get where you're coming from ✌️💙
@@erikcox8749 I was a teenager in the 80's. My influences in the 80s were Metallica(James Hetfield), Judas Priest(Rob Halford), Motley Crew(Vince Neil), Steve Miller Band, Aerosmith(Steven Tyler), Led Zepplin(Robert Plant) Slayer(Tom Araya), Queensryche(Geoff Tate), Megadeth(Dave Mustaine), Ratt(Steven Pearcy), Prince - yes I said that he was a genius and belongs in this group. I went the gamut in my musical taste and my list is so much longer. But, when the grunge age became mainstream in the 90s, Pearl Jam(Eddie Vedder), Stone Temple Pilots(Scott Wieland), Alice in Chains(Layne Staley), I really was drawn to some serious talent. But of all them, Chris Cornell held my attention the most. Without a doubt he was one of the most gifted musicians, vocalist, writers and performers on the planet. Black Hole Sun, Super Unknown, Rusty Cage, Say hello 2 heaven, Outshined, I was hooked! He came Atlanta and performed at the Fox Theatre his last year before he died. I said, I have to go and did not make the time. Man did I regret that. Funny story, I saw Stone Temple Pilots in Alpharetta and the lead band was absolutely horrible! My wife who is not really into my music said, "Is STP going to be this bad?". I was like hell no, they will be a total different experience and he did not disappoint! That was the year before he overdosed, great talent and artist. His unplugged versions of his work are amazing, Plush is a good example. ruclips.net/video/vXe7HIyDBdE/видео.html
Grind on brother and if you ever need help, ask for it man. Too many gone way to soon, not sure they really understood the impact they made on others in their darkest hours. ;-) RIP to all of those shredding in heaven. Oh, try this version from Daniel Lima, dude made one of the best renditions I have ever heard. ruclips.net/video/VhS4qlIbQ4w/видео.html
That was absolutely beautiful and a flawless perfectly soulful rendition! You can see on his face the love he had for Chris. Brought tears to my eyes.
Jedi Lennon ! Agree 💯
Did me the same way. What a rare treat
Much love to you Mike. Thanks for this heartfelt video.
I agree, 1000%
Seems you don't now how low a depression can get you
Thank god we have detectives like you. Let me guess... the illuminati did it? A reptilian-led coalition? Is Eddie Vedder next?
what a pair of morons... let me guess... are you 12 to 14?
Morons? Blindly insulting people because you disagree only proves YOU to be a moron and we both know you aren't 12 to 14....
feel your pain....
feel your loss.....
our pain and our loss :(
My friends and I say, "super talented guy" every single time we listen to him.
He truly did have a one of a kind voice. I would brag about his voice all the time to people; nothing compared and nothing ever will. We really lost a legend.
You're right. We tend to internalize our own burdens while attempting to accommodate others. Amazing cover!!
Keep coming back for this cover. I never hear 12 strings.
I feel physically sick that Chris is forever gone.
chris will never leave our hearts. its sad that his craftwork ended with his flight from mortal coil. with every new day comes the memory of his heartfelt contribution to humanity. l look to his time with us as a reminder of how fleeting our time here is. instead of fretting over what should have been l take comfort knowing that his songs inspire me to comprehend more than the eyes can see
mahalo my brother. chris has got to be looking upon you with a giant grin. you captured the spirit of that pc and set it free on gossamer wings. for the rest of my time on this rock my heart will reflect upon the introspection you bring to this beautiful song and the profound tragedy that surrounds it
I wasn't expecting it to be as good as I just witnessed! Got me crying hard, one of my favorite songs as well. Chris's choice of chords and his bluesy approach to folk... Awesome tribute. RIP
Euphoria Morning changed my life as well. Fucking terrible tragedy.
Yeah that album helped me through a very difficult time in life.
Jason Stirmers Same. It's not said enough
La voz de Chris Cornell debería ser nombrada Patrimonio Cultural de la Humanidad
Sin ninguna duda...
Copywriters MX Redactores de acuerdo
Desde luego. Dios lo tenga en su gloria.
A huevo guey
Mike Love. What a tribute. You feel Chris' essence through the song. This is how you do a cover.
I just came across this, more than 2 years after Chris's passing. First time since then that I've had hope that someone can keep the spirit of Chris alive. This version would make him smile. Thank you Mike. This was awesome. On so many levels.
I was 17 the first time I heard Soundgarden. Louder Than Love. It was a musical evolution for me....completely blew the doors off the cage of same ol' music that I had confined myself to. As someone who has struggled with depression and darkness, I heard lyrics that I could deeply identify with....lyrics that let me know I was not alone. Thank you Mike Love. You have comforted me today. Once again, I am not alone.
One of the most beautiful and honest versions of this song
Wow.. Amazing tribute to one of the most amazing musicians of our time. Thank you
Mike I must say brother that this is by far my favorite take on a Cornel song Iv ever heard my man Bravo 👏 thanks for the advice and stay frosty my friend…..🍻
There is a certain beauty in pain. That's what made Chris such a beautiful singer. Unfortunately, the burden was too much to bear... great tribute Mike. RIP Chris... Say hello to heaven for me, won't you?
There will never be a better cover of this song done. Timely, personal and beautiful.
Mike, this is an amazingly heartfelt tribute, overcome with emotions
GOOSEBUMBS EVERYWHERE!!! Great job Mike. RIP CHRIS
Back again when anything terrible happens to listen to this on of a kind performance! 🤘🏼
I've seen every single tribute to Chris so far, and this is by far the best. Heartfelt, and Mike makes me feel his pain inside, and is sharing mine. The upside to all of this, is that I just learned about Mike Love.
Dope Threat same here turned onto to some great new music to me in Mike Love!
Chris is my idol. Always think about him, he feels like a brother that I never met. We love you Chris, RIP Brother, see you again
Sleeping with a full moon blanket
Sand and feathers for my head
Dreams have never been the answer
And dreams have never made my bed
Dreams have never made my bed...
We've lost many music icons over the years, but I must say that the amount of love and sorrow, expressed by people around the world in reaction to Chris' death, is absolutely phenomenal. The outpouring of grief and shock from fans, the media, and especially fellow singers and musicians, is a testament not only to his talents, but to his character as well. So many fans have expressed their gratitude for his inspiration, and for his music getting them through some very dark times in their lives. The musical tributes from his peers, in respect and admiration for one of the nicest people in the business, is overwhelming. It will take awhile, but I intend to watch every single one of them. RIP Chris Cornell. You stood among giants, and towered above them.
Made me cry, man...
Still one of the greatest tributes ever done. Mike love unreal synchronicity with love.
I love you Mike and I love you parents for raising such a beatifull soul. Mahalo
You haven't started singing yet but I already love you.
Probably the most amazing cover of this song I have ever heard! Beautiful voice and all of his emotions are on his face. When the right person is in the right mood for singing a song like this at the right time. RIP Chris ❤️😢

Thanks Mike. Truly beautiful memories and sentiments. I am 52 year old Aussie that introduced my son, who is now 17 into sound garden and the raw and sweet tones of Chris. We both feel a great loss in the music world and wish to pass on our heartfelt sympathy and love to his family. RIP Chris. The music will live on forever. Greg and James Ward.

Not ashamed to admit I watch this video several times every day. I had not heard of Mike before coming across this beautiful tribute to Chris. Chris was my musical hero as well. I loved this song and this was a great rendition. Well done sir. Sad there won't be any new music from him.
Wow. This was the best tribute. Mike, you're one talented and authentic artist. Chris would be proud.
Le stagioni passano ma Chris resterà per sempre ❤️
Grazie Mike ho pianto per questo tributo❤️
This tribute is extremely accurate, beautiful, and inspirational. Chris Cornell was so influential to my obsession and awaking my inclination towards music, and pursuing my passion.
Having trouble sleeping tonight, stressed over family medical issues, always found peace in music. Thank you for the song Chris Cornell and the awesome cover Mike Love.
Who is Mike Love and where has he been hiding?!?
Monica - that's a bit easier said than done when we live in a society that places the idea of value on a piece of paper or shiny rock and views vulnerability and depression as a weakness among the competitive masses. While I fully agree with your statement, I wish those willing to be vulnerable could find someone willing to listen.
check out mike love permeant holiday high sessions he is simply awesome
Not the one from The Beach Boys, that's for sure...lol
ROOKTABULA he's an amazing compassionate artist with real soul!. check out 'no regrets' and 'penniless'
That's how I discovered Mike Love, Through permanent holiday.
Awesome Mike and thanks for talking about depression and suicide. I think our society doesn't take depression seriously as a real illness and how big of a problem it is. People are afraid to admit they have a problem or to seek help.
That's from the heart
he lives on everyday , I'm would say legendary comes to mind but even that falls short
Alright, guy.. Now put my heart BACK together...
Wow. What an unreal performance. Excellent job Mike!
Dude, you are f*cking awesome. Nicely done. The 32 people who disliked this must be tone deaf.
The 32 are deaf and biased. Jerk-offs really 😉🤷♀️
If you have never experienced Mike love do yourself a favor he is a special soul on this Earth and one of the most creative people I've ever seen God bless Mike Love
Thank you, this is amazing.
