@@beobalf seguramente haré un tuto sobre una espada que parezca que está ardiendo pero si quieres usar este mismo método yo usaría estos: - Mephiston Red - Evil Sunz Scarlett - Wild Rider Red - Lugganath Orange - Blanco Eso para las luces, como ves hay un color más en el proceso pero no es complicado Para las sombras yo usaría Rinox Hide. Después le daría a todo una capa de Lamenters Yellow, para aportar los tonos amarillos y potenciar el brillo. Espero que sea de ayuda!
Thanks, I try to make my videos as easy to replicate as possible. As for ratios, there aren't any, sorry. Each colour from each manufacturer is different, you need to learn how to do it by feel.

Thanks mate, not really any tips, it's just brush control. I so it with my regular brush a Rosemary and Co series 33 size 3, just make sure the brush has a nice tip. You do want the paint to flow nicely but not too much.

Mainly because of the intensity and richness of colours while also being transparent. That being said, this was made before the release of contrast paints, so I would use those now. Probably Terradon Turquoise or Akhelian green

Gracias! Bueno este video lo hice antes de que las Contrast hubiesen salido a la venta, así que usaba las tintas de Vallejo para el mismo propósito pero ahora uso Akhelian Green de Citadel para esto mismo o quizás puedes usar Incubi Darkness para dar esas veladuras. Espero que te sirva!

@@squidge46 i would personally reserve this kind of techniques for characters if you are going for speed but it will definitely look cool and it's something that I actually do because I don't care for speed myself. An airbrush could be a very interesting tool of speed is what you are looking for

I would like to ask.. What happens if you make a mistake, like accidentally painting the blue parts silver in an attempt to paint some of the sword’s details. Do you just restart the process from step 1?

You have two options: - Do the gradient in the edge, leave the flat dark - Do the same, I would encourage you position the maximum light right where the blade curves for maximum effect
Yes! Exactly. On the other side it should be mirrored. So directly opposite of a light spot it should be a dark one and vice versa. Hope that makes sense
You can either leave the groove dark or, the best option, invert the pattern of Highlights and shadows on each half of the groove if it's big enough, so it would be something like: Shadow -> Light Light -> Shadow Shadow -> Light Light -> Shadow Hope that helps
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures by the way, do you thin your paints with something for multiple coats? I tried regular water, but transition was quite harsh. Should I use Lhamian Medium to thin them down?
@@Bodya_CN I just use water myself but I you use Lahmian Medium or a bit of vallejo glaze medium it would definitely be easier to achieve a smooth transition.
FW Artists Ink for white otherwise go home crying, interesting you mix green into the blue. I can't even remember what GW rocmmends instead. UPDATE: ah GW recommend Stedagon green and sotek green and greys but yours looks far better than what's knocking around their videos

Its a compromise, recording requires me to adopt a position that is not 100% comfortable so I stop recording once I'm happy with the footage and finish the step. Other times I accidentally slip off the frame while painting and can't use those parts. I still think the steps are clear though. Thanks for the feedback, and thanks for watching!

It's something you just need to go and do it. Remember you can always thin down that line using the adjacent colours.

How do you make glaze or do you have to buy it?
No, I just add water to regular paint till it's very thin. If you have problems, you can use medium instead, but I use just water

I use Citadel Paints almost exclusively and in this video a couple of Vallejo inks.
If you are asking if my Citadel are of the Air version, they are not. Normal Citadel layer and Base Paints
Hi, I can't seem to find just green or blue ink? Are the actual names azul blue and Verde green? Or am I looking at the wrong things aha
These are the Game Color inks, the Green and Blue simple as that.
You can also use Terradon Turquoise Contrast Paint for this.

Awesome video as usual, not sure how this one got by me :) Do you think fluorescent paints can be used in this process to enhance the contrast or glow effect? I'm tempted to give it a try but wondering if you've ever tried it before.
Not for blue, blue florescents are all terrible. You can use colours like Baharroth Blue to get something brighter

I would like to ask.. What happens if you make a mistake, like accidentally painting the blue parts silver in an attempt to paint some of the sword’s details. Do you just restart the process from step 1?
no, just mix the correct colour and fix it.
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures Ah I see, so if the silver for example is on the shaded side, do we just keep glazing it with the Vallejo Game ink mixe until the correct colour is observed?
No, ink is transparent. I will probably touch it up with a mix of the ink and the base paint.

This "handle" is an old pin vice or hand drill. That's all.
It's a dreadful hand drill, but an amazing holder
How would you paint a single blade sword?
You have two options:
- Do the gradient in the edge, leave the flat dark
- Do the same, I would encourage you position the maximum light right where the blade curves for maximum effect

Question what do I do on the other side of the sword do I flip the tones around?
Yes! Exactly. On the other side it should be mirrored. So directly opposite of a light spot it should be a dark one and vice versa.

How would you do this with a sword with a groove in the middle, e.g. the new Dark Angels Lazarus model
You can either leave the groove dark or, the best option, invert the pattern of Highlights and shadows on each half of the groove if it's big enough, so it would be something like:
Shadow -> Light
Light -> Shadow
Shadow -> Light
Light -> Shadow

@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures by the way, do you thin your paints with something for multiple coats? I tried regular water, but transition was quite harsh. Should I use Lhamian Medium to thin them down?
@@Bodya_CN I just use water myself but I you use Lahmian Medium or a bit of vallejo glaze medium it would definitely be easier to achieve a smooth transition.

FW Artists Ink for white otherwise go home crying, interesting you mix green into the blue. I can't even remember what GW rocmmends instead. UPDATE: ah GW recommend Stedagon green and sotek green and greys but yours looks far better than what's knocking around their videos

I think it's a bit sad you skipped over some of the import/hard parts
Its a compromise, recording requires me to adopt a position that is not 100% comfortable so I stop recording once I'm happy with the footage and finish the step.
Other times I accidentally slip off the frame while painting and can't use those parts.
I still think the steps are clear though.
