Now we just need tutorial how to paint Mephrit Dynasty Necron. I would love to see how you would approach their metal painting armor and shading with washes. I loved Szarekhan Dynasty painting but rusty/copper theme don't feet me well.
It won't happen but I plan to do the older official scheme so that will do for the main areas.
As for the green details, I painted then using the official Warhammer TV guide 😂
Worked for Votann's energy weapons really good.
Happy to help 😘
That actually feels achievable. Thank you, beautiful job.
Thanks
Wow that is an awesome tutorial, thanks Juan, you're a legend
Thank you for watching!
As usual *fantastic* job, and you make it feel actually doable by us mortals without the need for magical painting skills! :D
OK, you've done green and orange-red. You know what comes next right?
That's right...
BLUUUUEEE!!!! :P
I've already done blue! Twice!
Not sure what will be next, depends on the time I have to paint this weekend
Great video dude. Love how we have done the same thing but so very different
Agree, I love your take as well
excellent
Thanks
excellent!
Thanks
Looking great as usual Mr Hidalgo! Like that you showed messing up :)
Interesting how dorn yellow is used in both instances!
Dorn Yellow is an amazing colour, you can even use it to Highlight blue
JuanHidalgo Miniatures awesome, thanks for the tip!
this is amazing. makes my tiny models so daunting to even start :
Paint Bravely! You can do it
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures I started. I give myself a D+. Learned some things. On to the next one!
Wonderful work! Would you ever demonstrate what a blue Necron blade would look like?
Just look at my How to Paint - Farsight Enclaves video or How to Paint Blue Power Sword video for two different takes
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures Ah, perfect! Thankyou.
Happy to help
I was waiting to do my melee indomitus necrons until I found a orange powerblade tutorial I thought I could follow with reasonable results. Thank you!
Do you ever do lightning effects? I have a couple of shokk guns I want the orbs to have electrical effects, and your tutorials are great to follow.
I have done that in my Eavy Contrast - Sacred Rose video
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures Excellent! I will look for it. Appreciate your content and the very granular steps on how to achieve a certain effect.
Thanks, I'm really happy when people notice that because I work very hard to make things as repeatable as possible with steps that I feel are precise and concise.
That takes work andnits always nice that it's appreciated
Hola guapo!
Claro, todos van a caer al final. No sé cuando pero llegarán
Your memes and painting tutorials are great! Very helpful and entertaining!
Thanks! I really appreciate it.
😘
I came for the memes, I stayed for the painting!
Great video. Thx for the technic. For a blue lame? which paints to use?
Watch my video:
How to Paint - Farsight Enclaves
To see how I do light blue blades
So cool I love it! How would you do this for a yellow sword?
I would go and do a gradient from a dark yellow (Yriel for example) to pure white. Yellow glow is difficult because you run the risk of it looking orange or gold.
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures I will try that thank you!
Really nice video and great job ! Thank you for all your quality video !
I have one question : why sometimes did you use Lahmian medium and why sometimes not ? What is exactly the Lahmian medium's finality ?
Lahmian Medium is basically paint without colour. What it does is help the paint maintain its properties when thinning it down.
For darker colours or very transparent colours it's ot a problem but very light colours can be problematic when thinned down a lot causing coffee stains and not a good result. Lahmian provides a chemical support for the pigment, so to speak.
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures Thank you very much for your complete answer ! It's really kind. I think i get the concept of the usefulness of Lahmian ! But, one last think, why did you use it withFlesh Tearers red at the end ? It's not a very light colours indeed.
Contrast paints don't react well to water, too much water and the chemistry breaks down and the results are not smooth
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures Thank you very much for your answer !
Happy to help
Finally a solid tutorial on painting orange. What if I didn't want it to be so bright? Would I shade with brown? I was thinking the brightest I'd go would be Lugganath Orange. You are an amazing Necron painter I'd love to get your opinion!
I would probably move the whole gradient down a bit ending with something like Barak Nar Burgundy and starting a bit darker of course
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures when you say ending your mean this would be the darkest part? I was not expecting such a purple color lol
Yes, that's what I meant. You can even use Incubi Darkness as the very last shade in the recesses, works amazing
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures what a fascinating color palette. Thank you so much for the speedy response!
Happy to help! Look at my copper NMM video to see how Incubi Darkness works as a shadow for red/orange tones. It's beautiful
Lo esperaba como agua de mayo :-)
Genial
Hi Juan, I'm new to your channel, great content and I like your style of painting very!
But I habe a question.
In some videos you talk about glazes, how do you dilute your colors, with water (distilled) or medium and what ratio?
Greetings Mark
If nothing is said I just use water, regular water.
Regarding ratios, that is not a thing sorry, I cannot give you a magic number. Each paint from each manufacturer is different and each will require a different Amount of dilution.
That's why I show the consistency on the thumb, you need to learn to make it by feel.
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures Thank you, very much for answer. I'm looking forward to see your comming Videos.
Happy to help

Another awesome "classic" video! :)
Don't mind me asking, what's the title/artist for the background ambient music you're using for your vids? Pretty soothing.
It's from the RUclips audio library, I don't have the name sorry
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures hey, no worries. Looking forward to your next vids 😁
Thanks
just found it, I'm pretty sure it is Nevada City - Huma-Huma
@@thomaslemeliner2491 it is, I've found it recently as well. Had to dig over a 100 vids to find it. Lucky, I narrowed it down to "Ambient music". Thanks tho! :)
Lovely stuff.
Thanks
This was great man, thanks so much!
Happy to help 😘
Hi i have a question. Do you have patreon with more videos and tutorials and stuff?
Yes and no. I do have a some exclusive videos there, but are for very basic hobby stuff, like paint dilution and preparing plastic models, etc.
That being said, those videos will all be compiled into something that I can upload to RUclips at some point. Like I always say no content will ever be exclusive or behind a paywall, that's not the type of content creator I am, I give everything I know for free because that's what I believe is best for the community even though I could win A LOT more money the other way, but I have a job that I like and no need to make this a business
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures That's great! And as a starting painter i have to say that you make great videos. I already learned and tried some stuff that looks very good and is fun to do. I also started adding contrast paint. So i hope to see videos and tutorials for long! I will definetly support you. greets!
@@yveshermans1869 thanks! I would really appreciate the support, also you will get access to the exclusive discord server and that is actually the best part. Lots of amazing people there that help eachother
How would you do this with a purple instead of orange/green?
Go and watch my How to Paint - Purple NMM video.
Do that.
Profit.
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures Thank you! I'm new to your channel and just didn't see that one yet. I've really liked the content so far and have been really inspired.
Thanks for watching and welcome!
Thank you , Sensei Juan .
Thank you for watching!
Liked and psyched! Please, make a complete video of painting a necrone NMM, no airbrush!! We would love it!
Thanks, but I don't think it will happen sorry. I won't say no, but I have way too many videos to make already
Very nice effect!
Thanks
Double-facepalm moment is brilliant =)
Looks like xeno-tech full of hell-fire. Yeah, that's beautiful)
Thanks!
Absolutely amazing work
Thanks mate, much appreciated 😊
Another great example of master painting.
Gracias guapo 😘
I love your painting tutorials. It just always looks so great and is well explained. I'm looking for a tutorial for swords in the style of the Nihilakh Dynasty. Could you maybe do one like that? keep it up!
Thanks!
Aren't those just the standard green? I already did those. Sorry if it isn't
@@JuanHidalgoMiniatures that's right, but I would like to have a dark turquoise blade. In my opinion that fits much better 😅
Check my How to Paint - Power Swords video. That's what you are looking for basically
