    Interesting video. Interesting comments. If shares must be sold in BST and STK to 'beat' the yield of QYLD then you might as well just go after a growth stock like SPYG and sell shares for income. The next consideration is tax liability when shares are sold. The possibility also exists is to 'trade' QYLD or write call/put options. I sold 3000 QYLD in Dec. @ 23 because I expected it to drop. Thanks for the splendid insight. New subscriber.

    Look at NUSI, DIVO, JEPI at alternatives to QYLD. ETF to ETF.

  • @aznravenflame
    @aznravenflame 3 года назад +6

    Any random pick of any Major ETF would likely beat QYLD in returns. The video is pointless, because the only reason people will logically buy QYLD is an immediate income need. Be it for retirement or income supplementing in the short term. So...maybe try to find a fund that will beat QYLD's income within a 5 year period?

    • @FinanceTheory
      @FinanceTheory  3 года назад +1

      The difference between the funds I laid out and other major ETFs is that they still offer extremely high dividend yields. Although not as high as QYLD you can still receive income and outperform in capital growth.

    • @aznravenflame
      @aznravenflame 3 года назад +1

      @@FinanceTheory Sure, do the funds provide a higher income with the capital appreciation after a 5 or 10 year period? That would be a comparison that makes sense.

    • @FinanceTheory
      @FinanceTheory  3 года назад +4

      Yes, I ran test with a $10,00 investment in the video around the 5:00 mark. It is clear that you would receive more income in the funds I listed. It does require you to sell shares, but would still have you outperforming QYLD in long term capital appreciation.

    • @aznravenflame
      @aznravenflame 3 года назад +3

      @@FinanceTheory I think we are going in circles. We both agree you will get higher returns via capital appreciation, covered call strategy ETFs will never beat growth strategy in a positive market.
      What needs to be shown is a income generating class of ETF that can beat QYLD with higher INCOME in a reasonable amount of time. This is for people who want to actually use dividends for their monthly expenses, not the people within a wealth accumulation point in their life.
      For example, if I invest in JEPI/SCHD/SPY, how long a timeframe before I can bring yield value to the level of QYLD (assuming no price or yield change for QYLD). So I have more capital, same monthly income, and as capital appreciated, I have higher dividends in the later years.

    • @monex90210
      @monex90210 3 года назад

      I agree with your point that most holders to QYLD would be individuals with an immediate need for income. However, another point of view comes from this You Tube creator contrary to that view. ruclips.net/video/MX71AI-c3qY/видео.html . Personally for a long term hold for total return I prefer BST as the long term total return crushes QYLD. The numbers don't lie.
